Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
[*]Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!

Anyone with Xbox Rewards find a resolution to their stuck "Complete the Xbox app dashboard" offer? I've tried everything to unstick it but nothing seems to work. I've already clicked the dash offer on the Xbox Rewards app and it had a green checkmark. The offer is now gone from the dash, however. My wife and son both had theirs count on the same Xbox.

I submitted a help request to MS last night about it. I’ll post more when I have an answer.

Here's the post from Xbox news:

This is honestly stunning. Seeing these games on the Switch isn't too surprising given Square Enix's former relationship with Nintendo. But even though the FFXIII series, FF Type-0 HD and FFXV is on Microsoft platforms, I know thought I'd see the day that the PS1 and PS2 era FF games would end up on a Microsoft system. This is especially surprising given that the recent PS2 remasters were previously PS4 exclusive. I mean, I am totally regretting getting Zodiac Age for my backlog since there's no way I will be touching it now that it will be playable on the X1X. And if the PS2 remasters get 4K enhancements and possibly X patches? Wow, what an amazing turn of events. The ability to play these titles on the go (Switch) or play on a more powerful system (X1X) is big time news IMO. I hope they bring over FFVIII eventually, as well.

This. This guy/gal gets it.

Yeah. I saw the Switch announcement and figured S-E was flipping the bird to MS once again, since all of these games have PC ports and share x86 architecture - if they run on Windows 10, they could port to Xbox easily enough. VII and IX are welcome additions, but I can play them on my PS3/Vita or buy the Steam versions. FFX and XII are the biggest deal to me, since they were on my list of games to get when I finally get a PS4. Super excited.

I wonder if they'll get physical releases, or if they'll do digital only al Nier Automata.

Shadow of the tomb raider goes live today for game pass subscribers, correct?

Edit: was hoping to have it installed by time I got home to play over the weekend.

Does Battlefield 4 and 1 have enough players to fill game servers on a regular basis still? I'm thinking of picking up one or the other (leaning towards 1), but I watched a few friends stream it last night and their BF1 servers of conquest only had max 13-14 players on each side, sometimes down to 8-9 including the three of them. This happened for all three matches that I watched.

I don't mind waiting a couple minutes to get a good full game, but I don't want 20 max players on the battlefield for conquest. It was between 12-1am last night, I don't know if that matters. Looking at the website stats, BF1 looks like it usually has 3x the playerbase, so I'm assuming BF4 would have even less-filled game servers. Just looking for some recent personal experience on whether or not BF game servers stay full or near full throughout the match.

On another note, when I moved from Cali just over four years ago, I had a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge collection of movies... bordering on 2k. Decided it wasn't worth it to relocate everything, so traded in probably half to FYE (or Tower Records)... took them a week to go through everything... and gave the rest away to friends. Haven't even dreamed of purchasing a movie since with all of the streaming options. I purchased my first 4k movie, Infinity War, and watched it on my X. It looked great, but I wasn't overly impressed like I thought I would be. It seems the leap from 1080 to 4k isn't as jarring as it was from VHS to DVD or DVD to Blu. Gaming, on the other hand, is a huge difference. Anyone else notice this? Maybe I just need to do a side by side comparison.
Does your TV do hdr? I would agree it's not as drastic a difference, but it's definitely noticeable in the details.

COD beta finally on the store for those that redeemed a code:

Would you happen to have the Scorpio edition? Seems the vast majority of problems I hear about are only with the Scorpio
Nope, it's just a standard one.

I've done some hard resets and finally got it to recognize it but if it keeps doing it I'll prob try getting it repaired.

Yes to BF1. If you browse servers you'll definitely see some servers have low population, but generally if you hit quickplay you'll be thrown into a match with full teams.

I have extra PS4 codes since you mention playing Spider-Man if nobody hooks you up with an XB1 code.

I'm thinking of trading in Final Fantasy XII to help with Soul Calibur VI. It's going for $8.80 in credit at Gamestop with the Pro thing, X is only $4 so I'll probably keep that. I'd just much rather play them on Xbox.

I don't remember if I saw it here or somewhere else, but there's a deal on the Xbox dashboard for a year of Gamepass with Forza Motorsport 7 and Horizon 3 for $99. I'm not sure if only some people qualify or if everyone can see it.

PS...

yeah it's for both new and existing members, until the end of this month:

There appears to be an issue going on with downloading the Blackout beta. It seems to be affecting people who have never installed the beta, people who have deleted the beta, and people who deleted a different beta. For the time being though:

Hollow Knight on PSN has a launch discount price of $11.99, safe to assume it'll be the same on XBL.

That game is easily worth $30, a $15 MSRP and discount on top of that is insane.

Hope they enable preorders on XBL soon. Heck, I’d even pay the additional $3 for the Xbox version even though I have a PS4.

Just looking for some recent personal experience on whether or not BF game servers stay full or near full throughout the match.
Like ini said, it's not hard finding full servers. I frequently have to wait in a queue trying to join my friends matches. There are times of the day when less people are playing. There does seem to be wonky matchmaking, we'll be in a match and a bunch of people leave and the game won't add new players so the teams aren't even half full. We just back out and find a different server with more people.

The loyalty rewards for FH4 have been announced.  Shirts for prior games, a horn, an emote and a chat phrase for tiers up to 10, then cars for 11 and 12.  Also cars for having played FH3 and FM7.  No mention if anything is exclusive.  I'm already Tier 10, outside chance at 11 before release, but looks like I may not need worry.

They're also adding Tier 13 when FH4 releases.

It still won't let me download the Blackout beta. This ridiculous.
Did you check your ready to install section? I was having the same issue last night, but it was there this morning.
It won't let me install either. I've tried everything that I've seen online. It's not in Ready to Install. I tried pushing the install via the web site and via the app. Did hard resets. Nothing works.

I don't even like CoD and I don't like the Battle Royales that have been released so far, but I have to say Blackout looks like fun so I want to try it. From what I've seen, it seems like it's right in the middle between the slow plodding PUBG and the over the top Fortnite.

I believe today is the last day to redeem bing points for the 25% off promotion they are running on the xbox gift card.  I had enough to get Mega Man 11 free next month.  Now if only I can figure out if the copy for sale on the microsoft store is a physical copy or digital code.

Of course, no more than 10 minutes after my last post, I stumble upon a way that does work.

On your console, go to Network settings and change your DNS to Manual. For primary DNS use 8.8.8.8, for secondary use 8.8.4.4 (those are for Google DNS in case anyone else is paranoid like me). Go back to home screen. Then do a hard reset (hold down the Xbox symbol on the front of the console until it turns off). When you start back up, it should work. Showed up in my Ready to Install. 14gb.
