Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I was thinking Double Fine might have bought the rights back to Brutal Legend like they did with most of Schaffer's old games, but I don't see anything about it. Considering it was for EA and had a pretty high budget I guess it's probably not feasible. Though the Steam version says it was published by Double Fine so maybe they did get them back, or they only own PC publishing rights or something.

Ya know I seriously thought I already owned Vanquish not it’s not showing that I do. Maybe that was PS3?

You should since it was a GwG about 3 months ago.
What Gurren said. Something funny is going on with xbox.com. I've had games I already own come up as not owned but when I go through the purchase process it comes up as owned. And yes, I'm logged in when I first try to confirm I own it.

If I won the Forza Horizon 2 Ultimate - 10th Anniversary Edition (although I haven't played it yet), what do I miss if I don't get this? I'm just thinking that if I buy the other dlcs not included in the bundle I may get them cheaper than the discounted price
You can always redeem the code and find what it doesn't include.

Now MS rewards won’t let me complete the daily’s either I guess I’m gonna lose my 231 day streak lol
Switch to a different browser. That usually works for me.

Need to get another external hard drive for my Xbox. Too many updates on games have left me with no more memory at the moment. Am considering any external between 4 and 8 TB. Does anyone have any suggestions on externals? I usually use Western Digital, but there's an 8 TB Seagate external that is very reasonably priced on Amazon that is tempting. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any advice.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, brands don't matter. The only time a brand will matter is if a specific model has a widespread issue, such as a buggy firmware like on my Samsung Spinpoint HD204UI drives. Or if a large shipment was mishandled, or some hiccup occurred during production and a bad batch was shipped. Those last two reasons are why it's recommended to buy from multiple sources if buying multiple drives at the same time. I've had numerous drives fail over the last 20 years, and they've been from every major brand on the market. The only "brand" that hasn't failed me yet is HGST(Hitachi), because I've only just bought my first one (a Refurb) to replace my first Samsung Spinpoint to fail because of the firmware bug. But, for those of you who don't know, HGST was acquired by WD back in 2012, and as of 2015, are no longer a separate entity. How different are the drives at this point? So, technically I've had many fail under the WD name. I currently have 47 Hard drives in use right now, from Seagate, WD, Toshiba, Samsung, and HGST. I always shop for the best price, so as long as there isn't a known issue about a particular model, I'll buy the cheapest I can find when I need another drive or 10. I can say which brand has failed me the most, but that is because that's also the brand that I've purchased the most. It's called Occam's Razor.

Speaking specifically on externals for Xbox, when I got my X in November I immediately purchased an 8tb Seagate because it was on sale for $150 (Cheapest 8tb I could find) and I expected to run out of space sooner than later. I've already filled over half of it. The same drive was on sale a few weeks later at another site for the same price when I got my girlfriend an S, so I grabbed another one since we game share and would need the same amount of space.

I mean if you were to go to Gamestop today, the price should still be $2.99. Tomorrow may be a different story.
Yeah small chance I go after work. Once 5pm rolls around I want to get home. I would have went on my lunch hour.

Probably just as well. Just add it to the pile of shame anyway.

Thank goodness, they added a counter to the stupid log into Xbox live for 10 days part of the wild kingdom quest. I'm at 9/10 even though I know I logged on every day this month as I'm on a 81 day achievement streak. Whatever at least it'll be done and I can move onto the next quest tomorrow.

Thanks for pointing this out. Now if only they would fix the bugged "Claim on Xbox offer".

Same for me but I still can’t claim the offer smh.

nice mine says 9/10 also now if the other parts would work for me I would be a happy camper

I think the quest counter for the login is jacked up too, it shows I'm on day 6 of 10 for both of my accounts (main and alt). It should be more like 8 days since I've been logging in on PC, mobile, and Xbox One everyday since it started. In the description it shows tracking may be delayed by 48 hours, which I'm guessing is for the counter.

Mine said 9/10 earlier and I just checked cause there was 3 checkmarks so I thought the crusader offer one finally worked only to find out it shows I logged in all 10 days now.

My quest counter went from 9/10 logging in to complete. Did the quiz for the new quest and now I am 3/4 done with that quest, now 15 more days of logging in to Xbox

Does logging into your Xbox One count as logging into Xbox Live? In that case, it might actually be accurate. Kind of eerie how everyone's counter reads 9/10, though.

Mine just said completed and I had one more day to go (at least from when I started the quest). I also have 3/4 done on the next quest.

Hey CAG fam, I'm extremely late to the party and have been working through the Master Chief collection. Just about done with Halo 3 (2 and 3 are AWESOME). So, I need opinions since Halo 5 is on sale. I'm not big into mp anymore, and I hear that's the strongest aspect of it. Is it worth $15? Also, thoughts on the gears remake? Haven't played any of em though all the 360 ones sit in the pile of shame. Thanks, all!

My advice would be to try and play some of Halo 4 before the sale ends so you can see the difference between Bungie and 343. Halo 5 is the weakest story-wise, and has some design choices that really mess with the formula and flow. It's a well-made, mechanically competent shooter that is completely forgettable. Halo 2 & 3 are fun to revisit every now and then but I have no desire to replay 5. what you heard is accurate though, the multiplayer is very good.

I think you would be better off getting a cheap subscription to Game Pass and knocking it out in a couple days.

I have no idea what's going on with this Wild Kingdom thing. I've got two steps done and should be okay with the XBL login step, but the "1 million Microsoft Rewards points free entry" doesn't appear to exist? I click the link and it takes me to the front page of the MS Rewards site with no clue what it wants from me. I look in the sweepstakes listings and there's a thing for that sweepstakes, but it's not free.

Gonna echo what GGP said regarding Halo 5 and go for a Game Pass sub. I beat H5 on a free to play weekend a long time back, so the campaign is definitely do-able in a month if you wanted to take your time with it. I ended up buying it digital when I found a deal for under $10 within the first year after it came out just so my fiancé would play through with me (she hated the story and won’t touch MP - even though she was a beast in Reach and 4). Take that for what it’s worth. It’s a decent game, but not a very good Halo game. Though, like others have said, the MP is surprisingly ok.

Because nobody's flopped harder in this console cycle than Microsoft!

(Unless you count Nintendo's Wii U, of course...)

Same answer I gave earlier for Gears of War 4. Just get a month of Game Pass. So not worth dropping $15 or $16 to play a single player game once through if it is on Game pass. Especially for shorter games (under 20 hours). Maybe wait for a sale on Game pass. It has been as cheap as $2 a month.

so it's already been ruled out the PSx Mini can't be hacked to do the same?
Nah, we don't even know what games will be on it, let alone if it can be hacked. Odds are, though, that the Nintendo ones are easier to hack.

Mostly I'm surprised that they are using the very original controllers without analog sticks. That also means games like MGS probably won't be included, I don't think anyone wants to play MGS with a d-pad.

Yeah I was mostly being sarcastic at a judgment on what "Haxors" might be able to do with it coming in 6 hours after it was announced. Totally agree on it's a bummer that they didn't go with dual shock because a lot of the games that I'd be tempted by used them, like Bushido Blade, Colony Wars, Gran Turismo. They were a real game changer at the time. I think I even bought dual analog versions of the Resident Evil games. That said they could still pull some pretty good games out of the other 15 depending on what partnerships they have. Obviously they are working with Namco and Square/Enix... if they can get something going with Konami and Capcom.

My guess on no analogs is probably because they want to keep it looking as casual friendly as possible and not intimidate older people who might've dropped off after the SNES generation..

And I'm surprised no games list, but then again I think I can see this console being marked down as opposed to Nintendo who's just going to abruptly pull production whenever they feel like it. Also PS1 era 3D games just don't stand the test of time in so many ways, especially with no analog.
