Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

If you have XBL credit to burn, Wonder Woman and BvS are in a bundle for $5:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/wonder-woman-batman-v-superman-dawn-of-justice-ultimate-edition/8d6kgwxfxwxs?activetab=pivot%3aoverviewtab

If I didn't already have WW, I'd probably go for it, but i'll probably never feel compelled to watch BvS again.
Had exactly $5 expiring on November 1st. Thanks for the heads-up (I'm one of the uncool kids that actually liked BvS and love the Ultimate Edition).

Corp Embar and repeat of the Corp Dropshot in the Gears Dev stream starting soon.

Can't wait to get home tonight, fire up FH4 and get that spring barn find. Last one I need for the achievement.

I also came across my final road last night - 531 / 531. Surprisingly, it was the driveway for a property I had not purchased yet. I thought I just had the one castle left.

Finished a race a little after the top of the hour last night and went to the Forzathon Live. There was no else participating, which was a little surprising. Been in some with 2 or 3 others before, but never alone. Can't remember if it was 3am or 4am Eastern. Tried to do the first challenge myself, fell short. Was a speed zone on a dirt road. Wasn't in the best car for it, since I had finished the A class seasonal challenge. Not sure if swapping for a better vehicle would've worked, or if the time taken for the swap would've sunk me anyway.

Another accumulative skill score challenge in the weekly, 2 million in the VW Corrado. Next week will be 5 million in a Cult car.
This morning at 6am Eastern I was alone for about 3 mins. Then two others finally joined me. We made it to the 3rd round before time ran out. Really sucks and makes me not to want to even bother. I almost bailed a couple of times. The rewards for these seem to suck anyway. Forza points. I can buy wheel or super wheel spins, a hat, a car I already bought and some crappy Civic and I think a horn. NONE of it is really worth much. I should have skipped it and worked on what I was looking to do with my 45 mins. Also annoyed they removed Active Championship from the map filters. I started a championship before the hourly Forzathon. Couldn't remember which one and just started another. I guess the icons are white when they are they active championship? Really way too much crap on the map most of the time if you don't filter some of it out.

I still need one more barn find. Hope it is a spring season one. Otherwise I have to wait 2 weeks till fall is back.

At least this weeks Forzathon only required 2 million skill points. Pretty easy to get once upgrading the car and getting a skill song.

I've moved into the no UHD = no buy mode for most movies, otherwise I'd jump on it.
As it becomes more standard I may regret getting non-UHD in the future, but for now, I'm pretty happy with "good enough." Otherwise I will just spend way too much money.

I hear the extended version fixed a lot of the complaints people had, but some of the plot holes and pacing were just so off to me that I don't feel compelled to see it, unless the GF wanted to watch it. I did enjoy moments of the film, and surprisingly, found Affleck to be the most likable part of it. Between him and Cavill both exiting DC movies, I'm really curious what the hell they're going to do.

Game Pass should share to accounts on the same Xbox, at least the downloaded games themselves if not the Ready to Install list. I think you can actually still game share Game Pass games like all digital stuff if you have two Xboxes.

Saves are definitely separated by profile. Unless your kid actually logs into your profile instead of his own he shouldn't be able to affect your saves at all.
Thanks for the info. I do t think he’ll mind starting from scratch on the Horizon games, but he may be bummed losing our LEGO Star Wars save, as we have our co-op play on it, plus he’s working the other three save slots on his own.

I was able to get 680 gamerscore in Conan Exiles in about 25 minutes. Couldn't figure out how to give my guy bigger junk though. That option was grayed out. Default was set around 60% so I guess that's sufficient.

gas station dick pills and mexican supplements always worked for me but I dunno if you can find those in game

I tried to make my character look like me as much as possible so I set it at 100%.

I really liked Cavill as Superman and think better of Man of Steel than most people. Superman was the only part of the DCEU that I really enjoyed. Shame he is leaving the role.

That's still just a rumor for now and neither DC nor Cavill have made an official statement so he still maybe Superman.

This has been superhero gossip watch. Sponsored by Halo. Enjoy driving a vehicle and accidentally destroying it in a wide open area and being forced to walk for 15 minutes to get to your destination? Try Halo.

Now that Microsoft is MA, everyone should be buying codes for all these movies in 4K. I only buy UHD and 90% is from codes. The other 10% is from iTunes that have MUCH lower prices for 4K and for MA titles like the superhero movies mentioned will port to MS and Vudu.

I currently have over 300 4K movies (granted I have an Apple TV 4K so there are way more titles available in 4K than MS). But 4K codes for things like Batman vs Superman can be found for around $5-7 and won’t have to worry about upgrading for the future. Codes for some movies that will be auto upgraded to 4K in iTunes and port to MA go for as low as a $1-$2.

The trading forum here has a lot but places like Google+ communities have tons. The absolute best part of MS joining MA is to be able to buy cheaper elsewhere and have it port in.

iTunes currently has a gigantic sale with over 125 titles in 4K for $9.99 or less. All you have to have is a PC and you can buy any MA title and it will port.

(Full disclosure, I have a Google+ and MeWe community where I post these deals for anyone interested. I don’t allow code sales in mine but can point you to many others that do).

I suspect they're going to do some tweaking with the Forzathon stuff at some point, rebalancing the points awarded or raising the price of things in the shop. The cost of a regular wheelspin was already raised from 10 points to 40, with some backlash on the forums about it. The points add up when you get the Lake House and double point bonus. Though a post on the forums says you don't get points, much less double, for the weekly challenge bonus (completing 7/7 dailies plus the weekly). Haven't kept track. I just plan to buy the new stuff each week I don't already have and stockpile otherwise.

The active seasonal championships have a white icon on the map. Suspect the regular ones do, though I don't remember for certain. Though the map does get cluttered. And they moved the filter button from LB to RB for some reason, so my reflexes are out of whack whenever I bring up the map.

The weekly challenge car is also a quick mastery completion, with only 1 perk in the 5 point tier.

Found the spring barn find last night, but it wasn't repaired by the time I finished playing. Hope I get it quickly next time I play.

Seriously, I don't know why they thought making the warthog destructible was a good idea. That was part of the fun of Halo CE, hitting a perfectly timed rocket on a moving warthog and then taking the vehicle for yourself. Then they turned them into flaming death traps.

I've been in the G+ and now the MeWe group as well. Good stuff. Beware about buying on iTunes, everything will transfer but not everything will transfer out in 4K. There's a fair amount that won't due to distributor licensing agreements. Got burned on Predator by not doing my research.

Also, the free Soul Calibur socks from Target are awesome. I had to go to another store, my local one had already sold out of the game.

Everything that is 4K and MA will port out as 4K.
But has to be MA. Only issues with porting are bundles and if you gift a movie to yourself. Those will only port HD.

I had Predator port 4K from iTunes to Vudu and elsewhere.

Edit: of course it requires a the place where it is porting to go have 4K. Microsoft does not have it in 4K. Vudu and iTunes do. But MS does get it, then it will be upgraded since you have it UHD in MA.

Soul Calibur is pretty good so far. It seems like both main single-player modes are going to be lengthy. The character creator is almost identical to V aside from the new Race options. I've only played 6 online matches so far, but the connections have been solid.

I hope the population stays around. It appears to be selling well on Steam at least. It's been first or second in the store all week.

Total noob question with Movies Anywhere, am I downloading or streaming? Getting a Dolby Atmos setup and I'm interested in starting to grab some of the new releases digitally instead of physical.

side note, man I cannot stand the hoops upon hoops you have to jump through to get into Itunes if you've forgot your password and have been away for awhile

MA is streaming.

If you have XBL credit to burn, Wonder Woman and BvS are in a bundle for $5:

If I didn't already have WW, I'd probably go for it, but i'll probably never feel compelled to watch BvS again.
Funny. That's how I feel about Suicide Squad.

Had exactly $5 expiring on November 1st. Thanks for the heads-up (I'm one of the uncool kids that actually liked BvS and love the Ultimate Edition).
Am I uncool for preferring it over Suicide Squad?

Great deals for $5 nevertheless. Thanks for posting them.

Hey all,

New to the external HD realm and have a couple questions. Just plugged my 4TB WD Easystore into my Xbox One S and adding some content to it. This is a USB 3 enabled device without a secondary power cable. I'm looking for advice on how best to use it and organize my content.

1. Should I keep games I play most on the Internal drive and use the WD as a backup for infrequently played games, or the other way around?

2. I bought it (wrongly) assuming it was an SSD but based on the specs it seems to be an HDD so it's unlikely to be any faster than my internal, correct?

3. Is it ok to use as my primary drive if it doesn't have a devoted power supply, or will that tax it too heavily?

4. If better as backup, is it ok to keep it plugged in or should I unplug it to extend it's life when not accessing the content? I see the little light on the back flickering even when my xbox is off, does it ever power down/sleep?

Thanks in advance!

I default all my games to the external unless it's a multiplayer game I'm going to play more often. I have it plugged in all the time with power coming from the X1. I think mine are both (one on X1, one on 360) WD and have been going fine for at least a couple years.

Don't know how true it is but I've read that external HDD will some times load faster than the internal.

It should power down when the XBox goes into low power mode.
I keep all my games on external drives which is great for going to other peoples houses as I just take the drive.

You can look up some youtube videos that compare the internal to external non SSD load times. it's kind of all over the place on a per game basis. Like I want to say Rise of the Tomb Raider loads faster on an External, while the Witcher 3 loads faster on an internal. I know I've seen stuff that suggests an actual SSD external is quite a difference maker.

I've just left my external powered on the blinking light is facing away from me anyway, but I'm 99% sure there is something in the options menu to power it down when the xbox is off if that's a concern.

Someone may want to check if observer, Dead Island Riptide Definitive and Hello Neighbor are downloadable in Game Pass now.  Maybe Outlast, too.

DMC4SE Demon Hunter Bundle added to the countdowns, 2 days left.

I thought ~3 TB was the cutoff for USB powered drives, but things could have changed in the past year.

Times on the page below compare original XB1 and X, internal and external. An S would probably show the same results, external would edge internal drive (in most cases).
The 4tb passports debuted a couple of years ago. That’s as high as the passports currently go.

You would've balked at a 4 TB SSD on price alone. MSRP on a 1 TB SSD is around the ballpark of an S.
Haha, yea, just found a 7gb SSD for $7500...

BTW, thanks everyone. Seems pretty clear based on some of those videos that the external is faster across the board, even if only marginally for some games. Started transferring everything that direction

No go for me as well here in Eastern Standard Time, although and this might of been the case earlier and I forgot or missed it, they are showing the 20% off for having Game Pass discount and it's counting down for 2 more days.

edit: only checked Observer and Hello Neighbor as I own the others

Just realized the new update added the ability to see what GWG and Game Pass games are installed vs ready to install. I initially hated the move to the top of the screen for that on the main page, but this is actually pretty cool. Looks like GWG only cover X1 games, which makes sense.

7GB, eh? what a deal!

Heh, yea, I meant 7TB, still strange though, it was like 7.68 TB. Seemed like some sort server HD or something.
