We are never going to get the Spider-Man season pass on sale in the US at this rate. Can't believe that EU PSN had it on sale for last month and still nothing over here.

Never going to get a sale based on the fact it hasn't been discounted here prior to the whole thing actually being released? The last chapter comes out Friday and I would think they would at least want to give the DLC for one of their most popular games of the year a chance to sell at full price the week it comes out before starting to discount it. Especially considering they have a hit movie for Spider-man in the theaters right now that will drive even more interest.

Any opinions on the Aim Controller for VR? Just got Arizona Sunshine and would like to get one depending on how well it performs.

It's a great controller! Like has been said there aren't a ton of games that use it yet, but it works really well, i've only used it with Farpoint so far but have no regrets getting it

Quite the opposite, actually. Sony rarely ever puts DLC on sale, and season passes even less often. When it comes to making money, which Sony is in the business of doing, it's actually smartest this way. Sucks for us as consumers, but great for them as a business.

Say you buy a game for $60 and then buy the Season Pass for another $40. They've made essentially the maximum amount of money they can off of you. But let's say you wait until the game is on sale and buy it. Fine, you've got a nice discount on the game, but they're still going to make $40 off of you from the Season Pass. It doesn't work the other way by discounting the Season Pass instead of the base game because there's nothing stopping you from just buying the game in a store.

Whereas they may discount bundles of the Base Game plus Season Pass, in order to entice new players, Sony knows that most people have OCD when it comes to this type of thing and if they already have the base game, they will buy "the rest of the game" via Season Pass eventually. They're banking on the customer doing so while the game is the new hotness and fresh in people's mind's, so they will hold off on discounting them as long as possible. In Spider-Man's case, I can't see them putting the Season Pass on sale any time soon because they anticipate recouping a lot of money by selling the Season Pass at full price to all the people who got the game bundled with their system this holiday season.

Which Why I said its best to just wait it out and get CE or DE. Get the base game and SP for like $20 bad part is the wait. I can say the witcher 3 dlc goes on sale all the time if I ever finish the game I can easily get the dlc. Bout all the games ive bought was $20 with all dlc. I regret buying soul calibur vi on day one as it was my 1st and be my last time paying $60 for a game. Dont even play it much like I should, then you have SP and maybe a SP2 in the future like tekken7 that's even more money.

Actually, I think we are saying the same thing. I don't think they will put it on sale anytime soon either, and your explanation is valid. I was just responding to the guy that thought the pass should have been on sale by now, despite it not even all being out yet and seemingly every reason in the world for not discounting it yet in the US.

And I literally just picked up a pre-owned copy at GS last week for a little over $15 after elite pro discount. What's even more hilarious is it was the copy I had traded in when the short-lived price glitch happened maybe a couple weeks after it was released.

Ah well, I'll just pick it up digital and either give someone or trade the physical copy at a local game store.

I must be weird then, cause I'm a pretty OCD guy, and yet I can't stand to buy any DLC. Only ones I've ever bought are a few wrestlers in WWE and the Witcher 3 Blood and Wine. 99% of the time, even if it "completes the experience" it just feels like an add on to me that I don't need.

Funny story, I platinumed Spider Man and then loaned it to my friend. He also platinumed it, and then bought the DLC and beat that before giving it back. I bought the full game and yet he's played more of the experience than I have lol.

I buy DLC because I don't like things to be incomplete. Notice I did not say I played the DLC. I just buy it because OCD or whatever makes me think i'm getting less than a complete experience. Of course, I have many games and DLC yet to be touched that i'm spent plenty on (usually waiting for a sale, though), but it's probably still cheaper than the therapy and medication it would take to fix me.

That's what I did for Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Unfortunately that's not always the cheap ass option if you went with the regular edition starting out.

It's hit or miss. I've done this for DA:I, Just Cause 3 and Deus Ex Mankind Divided, where I picked up the base game for cheap (a while after release) then bought the all DLC on sale later on. But I bought Mafia III planning to do the same thing but the DLC never goes on sale.

Which Why I said its best to just wait it out and get CE or DE. Get the base game and SP for like $20 bad part is the wait. I can say the witcher 3 dlc goes on sale all the time if I ever finish the game I can easily get the dlc. Bout all the games ive bought was $20 with all dlc. Exactly. I pretty much hold off on games that I think are likely to get a complete edition down the line for that very reason, and the fact I'd like the entire thing on disc. It's getting a little harder these days, though, when you have these "Gold" editions that launch with the Season Pass included. It's like the publishers feel like, "Why put out a complete edition on disc when they can just buy the Gold Edition?" Bleh.

I was just responding to the guy that thought the pass should have been on sale by now, despite it not even all being out yet and seemingly every reason in the world for not discounting it yet in the US.

I agree with you and disagree with the previous post. I know almost NO ONE that buys DLC. I’m sure there are a lot of people that do but I don’t think that they are the majority. I think I read somewhere that the majority of people don’t buy dlc or pay for micro transactions- but the people that do spend a lot on it.

I’ve also only bought a few wrestlers in paid dlc and that’s about it. I’m not spending extra money on something digital unless I find it to be really, really worth it.

I think the type of game and DLC is a big factor as well. Buying a wrestler, costume or weapon isn't really that big a factor since it doesn't change much of the story. You're not missing out on anything by not having that DLC. But not buying the Assassin's Creed 2 DLC causes you to miss two whole chapters of the game, Burnout Paradise's DLC and you miss out a good portion of the map, and Castlevania: Lords of Shadows and Asura's Wrath and you miss out on the entire end of the games, etc.

It's a broken glitchy mess. The coop is cool but there are still game ending bugs and frequent crashing or lost items in coop.

Pretty much every Assassin's Creed game besides the last few have all gone free on XB1 via GWG. Not sure why Ubi hasn't done the same for PS+ but that could have an impact on fewer sales somehow.

Throughout Sunday it went in and out of stock, but as far as I can tell majority of those later orders were cancelled. So yeah, now a few of us have a PSVR headset coming our way or already home with them.

I can't for the life of me get a 2player game going.  I get to the level select screen, and it shows on the bottom "options button for 2p" but no amount of pushing the options button on either controller does anything.  Do you have to get a certain way into the game to "unlock" co-op?
