• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

For me, the TV will be hanging from a wall in a room with no other devices attached to it (maybe this will help my wife start to be OK with cord cutting...). I imagine as long as your home network is secure so that hackers can't get on it to learn the TV's IP address you'll be fine, but I'm still hope they either lock down that access with encryption/authentication or figure some other way to plug the hole.

So I've had my Series X since Monday and I have to say, I'm really enjoying this console. Plus, this is my very first time owning a brand new console at launch!

I forgot how much I liked Xbox controllers. It's still taking me some getting used to, but it's very comfortable even for my tiny hands. Game Pass is incredible! It's almost overwhelming how incredible it is. There's just SO many games I want to play!

Coming from PS4 last gen (it feels weird calling it last gen now, doesn't it?) I had a ton of these games in my wish list before Sony removed that feature. Now they're just available for me to play via Game Pass! Not all, but most.

I love both companies, I'll never be a fangirl of either, but Xbox definitely wins with most aesthetically pleasing console(s) this gen too. At least in my opinion. Overall, even if there aren't too many new launch titles for either console, I'm happy we all have something new to dive into and keep us occupied while the remainder of this shit show of a year plays out.

My biggest wow moment with Game Pass is every time I hear about a game that was under the radar, then go to look it up and there's the google trending search for Game Pass. So far I've played at least 3 games I never would have and loved it for it. I honestly think in the next year as people truly discover Game Pass, there's going to be a huge shift. I've talked to friends who are just diehard Sony fans and once I explain what GPU offers, the look of shock gets me every time. They don't know because they simply ignore whatever MS has been doing.

Game Pass won't be overlooked for much longer. . .

My WD external does this on SX but did it on 1X as well. It’s pretty annoying and probably damages the drive over time. No issues like this on PS4/5

I had 3 PS5's on preorder (in case of cancellations). I cancelled my Target and Wal-Mart preorders 2 weeks ago after I got the e-mail from Best Buy about setting up an appointment to pick up the order. Wal-Mart ended up shipping (and charging me for) a PS5 anyway - no notices until it just showed up yesterday. I ended up selling it on Craigslist for $900, which will go towards a 4K TV sometime. I didn't have any intention of scalping a system but that was preferable to facing the customer service people at Wal-Mart.

Well I just finished watch dogs legion. I gotta say really, really disappointed in it.

Just got a refund from Xbox for it. Kinda weird they immediately gave the refund after i filled out the form so i doubt even anyone checked it manually. Its not a bad game but the story is so generic and the dialogues are so boring. maybe i expected too much because i come from the hacker scene but its really just very tiresome and just cringey and not focused at all, i found myself skipping most dialogues maybe i should have given it more of a chance because the gameplay isnt bad. But essentially youll just use a character that you like and then the game isnt even a challenge anymore (used hypnotist) tho some stuff is pretty good but some isnt so much , like puzzles definitely were better in the older games.

I still really like wd1 and wd2 also the latter one really shines in the coop with friends..

Glad to hear. Was flip flopping on whether to get it. I played origins a ton shortly before Odyssey came out and I got odyssey on release. Played for like 5 hours and haven't gone back yet. Was a bit burnt out from origins. Figure with the setting and getting a series x soon Valhalla was good to pick up now.

Has anyone else been using remote play with the Series X? I was playing Destiny 2 on my iPhone tonight with hardly any lag and crystal clear picture. The controller works without even being paired with Bluetooth. Pretty impressed with that!

So I am noticing video stuttering with the Xbox Series X. Luckily I haven't seen it too much during gameplay and it seems isolated mostly to menus and cinematics. I think it may be a known issue (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/display-sound/stuttering-video) so I hope there is a patch soon. These things are to be expected for a console launch.

Just a few that I tested:

Glad to hear. Was flip flopping on whether to get it. I played origins a ton shortly before Odyssey came out and I got odyssey on release. Played for like 5 hours and haven't gone back yet. Was a bit burnt out from origins. Figure with the setting and getting a series x soon Valhalla was good to pick up now.

There’s some noticeable similarities between Origins and Valhalla. The parrying was much more important in that than in Odyssey. The little interactions with people or dialogue in passing reminds me of Origins. Valhalla seems to take pieces from almost all of the games and adds new touches. It’s nice seeing some of the fluid parkour from 3, Unity and Black Flag. The blending while not necessary is cool to have back and I love having a homestead again.

I think you're supposed to click-and-hold. That's what I've been doing anyway.

I think you’re right. I was messing with it tonight. Instead of just clicking it like previous ones, you have to hold it about half a second longer.

So far my only complaints is getting stuck on a rock or something where it should have no problem stepping up. I’m really missing the quick save option from Odyssey too.

There is a quick-save, it’s just in an unexpected place. Point down on d pad, it’s there with raid and all those other icon options.

Of course we are looking for it in inventory where it used to be. This is actually quicker to get too, so good improvement.

Gears Tactics shut my One X down twice last night. Once before it was even done loading the opening mission, and again after halfway through the opening section.

Really disappointed that this system is not more optimized as a stepping stone between old and new hardware. The one thing I miss from PC gaming is that a system like the One X should have options to run the game at 1080p like the week or hardware if you wanted to. It's always been strange to me that consoles take those options away even when they're capable of multiple settings.

Pretty odd but when I loaded up Tetris Effect, it gave me a pop up message saying my GamePass is going to expire soon. The odd thing is that yes it was going to expire but I added 2 years via that EA Play shopto codes. I checked the Xbox and GamePass apps and subscription management and all says I’m good till 2022. Hopefully the error message is just part of some weird things happening during this launch week that’ll get fixed.

Wow. That’s awesome! I was just thinking about BC yesterday and was wondering if they will add any more. They’ve been kinda quiet on that front (obviously were likely more focused on making what is already BC on the new consoles working).

Hope they do add some more!
