• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

Matrix 4 indeed looks pretty good. My new headcanon is that John Wick is just a Matrix program that the machines made to try and keep Neo busy since his mind wanders when he's working the usual 9-5.

Man, Microsoft needs to announce their Marvel game already. No way every major publisher has one but them.

I am not really understanding/feeling Hades. I went in knowing nothing about the game. I beat the first boss and then got to the 2nd and died. The game throws me back to the beginning and I have to beat them all over again and all my weapon upgrades were gone. Okay so it's that kind of game. I am going around talking to people and getting items which the game doesn't even tell you what they are for and what they do. I can give gifts to people with the nectar but I have no idea if I need all those keepsakes and which people I've given it to unless that scroll thing tells me. I find out that certain things are permanent like dark matter I think it's called. It's the purple drop looking thing that you spend in the mirror. There are different paths with symbols that I am starting to figure out what they are but still sometimes just blindly choose a door. I had to look up what items are in the Charon shop you can buy since the game doesn't tell you what you are buying. I use those gems to upgrade the place but it seems the only useful ones upgrade the in game potions and stuff.

I'll go through and get to the 3rd boss no problem using the same weapon(shield attack) and die and then try again and die at the 2nd boss even after upgrading with the purple tears. Not sure what is going on with that. Is it just random by the upgrades you get each run? I went back to the bow and arrow and didn't even make it to the 2nd boss. I am using keys to get new weapons but I can also use them to trade things by the cook or use them to get more skills in the mirror so I am not sure which is the best way to use them. I currently using the Skelly keepsake to get an extra life after I die and try to always buy another one if the game lets me. I know I have to figure out the best strategy with perks I want to use and buy but the game sure doesn't give you a lot of info. I feel like I probably already wasted keys or drops or money with things that are worthless. I still don't know whether it's best to use the keys for weapons or more purple tears dark matter or using them in the shop by the cook. I have 7 and need one more to unlock a new weapon. I guess this game gives you lots of keys and expects you to just play the game over and over and over to get more keys to unlock stuff. Doesn't sound that fun but sooo many outlets are giving this game praise so I will stick with it for now.

I gave the game a solid 15 minutes to change my mind on most rogue-likes. It didn't.

At this point, I could totally do without a Marvel game unless it was a Punisher game either based off of the Sniper Elite or Hitman games.

6 series finally got on my nerves with the flickering…

I honestly wouldn’t recommend Tcl anymore. It was cheap price yes had great features for the price but in the end it didn’t last at all that’s where the You get the you get what you pay for. I only play games on my tv and it just didn’t last 5 years. I have a plasma from 2005 that still has great picture and has no issues…I wish it broke cause it weighs so much before I get more old and can’t carry it lol.

Anyway I went with the new dell s3222dmg 1440p 165hz curved va. I had a Best Buy birthday 10% off and it brought it down to $399 total with tax. Looks great to me, played some black ops on extreme mode and the picture flew no ghosting. Hope it last til I can afford 4K 120hz

Yeah, so far I've only purchased Ratchet & Clank for my PS5. Different strokes and all that. I don't usually like buying the $60-$70 play-it-once and done single player experiences. I enjoy playing through them as long as I don't have to pay full price though. I guess that's why I'm on cheapassgamer, I suppose.

My favorite thing about the PS5 and main reason I got it was for fast load times with backwards compatibility (PS4 games).

And Uncharted 4.

And Infamous Second Son.

And Odin Sphere.

And Ghost of Tsushima.

I usually save up exclusives and play through them once a year in a few weeks time when things get slow. It kinda makes you see the real lack of variety in the ps exclusivse. All third-person story games. The stories are usually great, but the gameplay gets kinda dull. I don't know how much of that is the fault of the games or the ps controller.

-Uncharted didn't control well until 4 but that might be I played through all 4 together and I was used to it? 4 is my favorite either way.

-God of War was fun, but aiming the axe felt off to me. Prolly the controller.

-Horizon is really good. 2 is one of the main ones I'm looking forward to on PS5.

-Ghost of Tsushima has an amazing intro and fools you into thinking it'll stay good. I cleared the map in act 1, act 2 only did the story, act 3 I quit the game for good about 3 missions into it. The story gets less interesting and the combat never does anything different.

-Spider-man was fun and the story great. The fights seemed to drag on too long though and I was on the edge of feeling bored trying to get to the next cut scene. And they make you repeat the same 3 street crimes before the next mission pops up. Swinging works well, but isn't that fun.

I am a fan of the variety in games that Xbox puts out. I'm done with Gears for a while, but still tend to have more fun in the exclusives. Third-person story games can be great, but it can't be all you have. I've put more time in some xbox games than most of the ps4 games combined. Even janky games like State of Decay 2 keep me entertained longer.

Where have you seen replacement shells? I only found one used one that looked sketchy. I've been trying to find a new replacement, but everywhere is out of stock. I need one for my Elite, one of the back grips started peeling.

Yeah most were sold out and/or looked sketchy. I think I saw a white shell for $50 but it might have be sold out too.

I mean Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 came out on Switch not that long ago, so there's potential for more but not sure if it'd release outside a Nintendo platform now.

That's a Nintendo exclusive, and sadly it's not supposed to be very good. That said I'd still play it if it came out for Xbox. It would be nice if they'd ever remaster the X-Men Legends games. I never finished #2 due to an endgame glitch.

I think there's nothing wrong with having a preference on where you decide to game. What's weird to me is people thinking they have to state or defend their preference after every showcase or a video game news. If you prefer Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo, PC, or even mobile platform then you do you.

You probably prefer 4 because that is the recent game with updated control, mechanics, and design. Uncharted 2 and 3 controlled well at that time it was released but probably doesn't feel as right now because you have experienced more recent game that has better control and design improvements over the generation. It's kind of like, but not as drastic, as playing the original Resident Evil series games for the first time and thinking it is over rated because it controls like gabarage.

I honestly wouldn’t recommend Tcl anymore. It was cheap price yes had great features for the price but in the end it didn’t last at all that’s where the You get the you get what you pay for. I only play games on my tv and it just didn’t last 5 years.

Disagree. My 2 4 series TCLs are still going strong and love my 6 series with DV. Best value ever.

Those Vanillaware games are beautiful, played it Muramasa, and dragons crown on my vita but would love to see them on my 4k instead. Just hard justifying having yet another console.

A shame Muramasa did not get a console port as Odin Sphere and Dragons Crown did, played it so much on the Vita and the DLCs were excellent. Would love a port for the Switch.

Sony show was pretty lame for me. I get that this is really subjective, and Marvel/God of War sequels are things that a lot of people are super high on, but since I'm not super high on those things, it was kind of a wasteland.

KOTOR exclusivity was a surprise and a big win for PlayStation. Aside from that, even the games that looked fine, like Gran Turismo, are just sequels that we already knew all about. So after a 30 second CGI teaser at the very beginning, I was basically done being excited for anything they had to show. Just my $0.02.

Oh yeah, and Uncharted... Come on Sony. $70 for a 60 FPS patch for games that are fairly recent. From any other company (except Rockstar I guess lol) that would be a free patch. Next up, selling us The Last of Us for the third time in three generations.

Uncharted 4 and HZD are both masterpieces. I still need to play God of War and Ghost of Tsushima myself. But I'll be using my PS4 Pro for quite a while until a less gigantic and more available PS5 system emerges. I only use the Playstation for exclusives anymore though.

I have a plasma from 2005 that still has great picture and has no issues…I wish it broke cause it weighs so much before I get more old and can’t carry it lol.

Anyway I went with the new dell s3222dmg 1440p 165hz curved va. I had a Best Buy birthday 10% off and it brought it down to $399 total with tax. Looks great to me, played some black ops on extreme mode and the picture flew no ghosting. Hope it last til I can afford 4K 120hz

Other than the odd random reboot, my newer Series 6 is a champ. My older one is still good too but it's been relegated to the upstairs.

That would make so much sense with GamePass too. As long as we can install the games on it. Even if it is Xbox One level hardware, that would be the dream.

The price isn’t what’s holding me back, I just can’t justify buying a PS5 for one or two games when I I have so many games on my Xbox to play. I barely play my Switch or PS4 as it is.
Also, The Show shouldn’t be on that timeline anymore since it’s on Xbox too.
