• You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
• Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
  On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.

What is this?

Game prices in the Xbox store have a UTC end date associated with them. These dates generally fall into 5 categories :

1. The item is currently on sale. These are usually the weekly sale items that end Tuesday mornings at 09:59:59 UTC.
2. The item will go on sale, usually within 2-3 weeks. These are usually set to switch at 23:59:59 UTC, like the weekly sale on Monday evenings. Some of the major annual sales (Spring, Summer, Black Friday, Holiday) start on Thursday evening UTC, and some times appear to be random.
3. The item is on Game Pass and is not currently or going to be on sale in the next few weeks. Third party games generally cluster around 09:59:59 UTC on the 1st and 16th of each month. Currently, at least one game is associated with every 1st and 16th through January 2026. The dates then spread out, ending with Human Fall Flat on July 1, 2028.
4. First party and EA Play titles are farther out, starting in 2049, with many in 2799 and 9998.
5. No date - some items do not have a price and so don't have a date. If the item is part of a bundle that has a price, the date from the bundle is used.

The list below uses the dates associated with games on Game Pass and EA Play. Time stamps in red are the regular Game Pass departure times and titles in red are confirmed to be leaving, either from Microsoft's regular news postings or by devs / publishers. Items available through Game Pass Core, currently on sale or not available for purchase are also color coded.

The date associated with a Game Pass game is not a guarantee it will leave on that date, but since March 2023 when the price data started getting analyzed, every game that's left Game Pass had been flagged as leaving on that date. It's given a number of people an extra heads up on the generally 2 week notice Microsoft provides.

This is just my opinion, but I bought Watch Dogs 2 when it was still around $20 a couple years ago. I got bored so quickly with it. The combat was clunky and found the “hacking” stuff tedious. It’s a nice sandbox but I wouldn’t buy it again no matter how cheap it got.

I Actually liked Watch Dogs 2. Watch Dogs 1 was really a by the books open-world game with characters ranging from forgettable to "why should I care?" With that said Watch Dogs 2 had personality and felt more polished. Downside is it's very Ubisoft in it being allot of "here's a bunch of map markers with stuff. Go do it..." Also if you don't like stealth gameplay it may not be for you because the game is allot of sneak and get in get something and then sneak out if you haven't murdered everyone on the way out...which I usually did by knocking them unconscious then shooting them in the head while they're asleep. You know, like a friggin asshole.

The game is deceptively deep with the most unique sub-class system I've seen in RPGs. You can fill out gaps in your party by creating your own and recruiting other player's characters. The shadow of the colossus style combat also gives it a huge advantage over most action-RPGs on a smaller scale. I can say with confidence that even 10 years later I've not played another game like it, ever.

You can throw children (or basically soulless foot soldiers that look like children) at gigantic monsters. Basically the game can be played like this scene from Tropic Thunder.

There are some launch issues on Xbox (mainly audio issues). But damn it’s good for fans of the genre.

I wouldn't say the world itself in DD feels copy-pasted, it keeps unique locations everywhere. It's more the general art design is pretty traditional compared to most games. Some unique locations and monsters, but not near something like a Souls game. This is basically a visual nitpick, as the areas are still fun to explore and the enemy combat is well designed. Later in the game, and especially in the Bitterblack area the expansion added, the design gets a lot better as they're firing on all cylinders.

Combat and Pawns are definitely the highlight. It has a lot of stuff that other games just don't do, but it's a long list to get into. The short explanation is that you can definitely tell the team that makes Devil May Cry applied their skills.

I had mentioned a few times about the Super baseball and Walking Dead Michonne rewards not working. I tried them again from the cloud using my tablet and they both unlocked!

I started playing Echo Generation (really enjoying the easy achievements) and now achievements won’t unlock now but again If I use Cloud from my tablet they work every time.

I did get the cache full message again today or could this all be related to me being an insider with the alpha ahead ring.

Thank you as I did not even know about this game and love the wipeout games going back to first one on PlayStation back in 1995 (plus the F-Zero series). Waiting for some credit to go through and will grab Redout 2 deluxe edition and the first game Redout Lightspeed Edition as the prices on gameflip are crazy good.

Since I will be in Argentina, I might as well grab Shredders Revenge for $3 and change to own it since it will leave gamepass one day down the line. My son and I were having lots of fun with Shredders revenge last night as we had 6 people going thanks to the online mode. Yes, you can still do conversions, but you won’t get the $1 deal.

You have to let your GPU expire (I waited an extra day to be safe), then load your account with Gold, and then you can convert it all for $15 (one month cost of GPU).

I'm enjoying TMNT.  I started it last night and have 1 achievement left for getting all story characters to level 10.  Some of the tougher achievements can pop if you join a match near the end.  If you only play the last few levels on hard you get that achievement for example.

Started TMNT with some friends last night. A lot of fun, but it seems like it has some network problems.

I joined at the start of the 3rd stage. Things were fine for a while, but then the non-host friend had issues just before a boss fight. He stayed on both other players' screens, he wasn't moving on mine but was on the host. He was added back after the boss fight, not sure if it registered him as completing the stage. One of the bosses (Metalhead) also disappeared mid fight for everyone and we had to restart the stage.

During the final boss fight, the host appeared to lose both of us. For me, the boss stopped moving and couldn't be hit. The other non-host player rejoined and could interact with the host's game, while he also reappeared on my screen and I saw him moving around and attacking, with his hit counter going up. I'd occasionally take a random hit, so I think I was still partially registered in the host's session. After the boss was defeated, it registered for my friends, but not me. The boss became active again on my screen and I died, returning to the map by myself. Going through the status screens, the game also didn't register one of the collectibles in a late level, despite no apparent connection issues during that stage.

Had a blast playing it, but I wonder how people would feel about it if it wasn't on Game Pass. The game is pretty short, with length derived from maxing out all characters for an achievement. Would probably be longer in single player, since you wouldn't have other players around to pick you up when you go down. I’ve got so many Transformers as it is. The vast majority is Generation 1 but I bought toys during Beast Wars and Armada too. The new versions are nice but I can’t bring myself to shell out money like I used to. There something special about the original versions(even the clunky Devastator.)

A lot of my G1 stuff didn't survive my childhood intact, particularly the pre-movie stuff.

They actually did an interesting thing with the main retail lines starting a few years back, where they basically went through the G1 years and did updated versions of a lot of characters with modern engineering / articulation. Didn't do every character, and I unfortunately didn't stay on top of everything.

Fell a bit behind on the Masterpiece line, too, and need to catch up there. They've almost gotten through the entire first year of characters. All the Decepticons are done. With Trailbreaker recently announced, they've nearly done all the original Autobot cars, just missing Jazz (which could be tricky licensing with Porsche) and Mirage, and 4-5 minibots left (a Cliffjumper prototype has been floating around, though that's also Porsche, and then Brawn, Huffer, Windcharger and Gears).

They've started doing the Japanese only Trainbots combiner team, with preorders up for 3 of the 6. I'm really hoping they follow that up with a Devastator.

Started TMNT with some friends last night. A lot of fun, but it seems like it has some network problems.

I joined at the start of the 3rd stage. Things were fine for a while, but then the non-host friend had issues just before a boss fight. He stayed on both other players' screens, he wasn't moving on mine but was on the host. He was added back after the boss fight, not sure if it registered him as completing the stage. One of the bosses (Metalhead) also disappeared mid fight for everyone and we had to restart the stage.

During the final boss fight, the host appeared to lose both of us. For me, the boss stopped moving and couldn't be hit. The other non-host player rejoined and could interact with the host's game, while he also reappeared on my screen and I saw him moving around and attacking, with his hit counter going up. I'd occasionally take a random hit, so I think I was still partially registered in the host's session. After the boss was defeated, it registered for my friends, but not me. The boss became active again on my screen and I died, returning to the map by myself. Going through the status screens, the game also didn't register one of the collectibles in a late level, despite no apparent connection issues during that stage.

Had a blast playing it, but I wonder how people would feel about it if it wasn't on Game Pass. The game is pretty short, with length derived from maxing out all characters for an achievement. Would probably be longer in single player, since you wouldn't have other players around to pick you up when you go down. I kept most of mine from when I was a kid. Over 10 years ago I went in my comic book shop at the time and someone had sold them their entire G1 collection. Everything was opened but the boxes were in perfect shape. Even the cards still had the plastic cover attached just enough to put them back under. They had the papers inside too. I bought at least half of what was there. 3 combiners, Megatron, Omega Supreme, Trypticon and a bunch others. I was fortunate they hadn’t done a full look up of pricing them so I got them much cheaper than they would have been on eBay. For a while I’d buy old G1, especially if it was from the Japanese series, on eBay too. I was a little late buying Beast Wars but got in during the second wave then kept buying through Armada and Animated series. I got the first Masterpiece Optimus but I just don’t buy like I did. I’ve got too much stuff and it’s too pricey for my blood now.

For one, it’s way too extravagant of a gift (not that he can’t afford it) but secondly he got my wife a candle for Mother’s Day. So in the process, he made my wife feel like shit. I wouldn’t say it’s “keeping score”. But seriously a Switch vs a $15 candle? Kind of a big difference. She always thinks the kids like me more. But part of that is, particularly my older son, is that we have more in common like video games and even music. Hard to explain our family dynamics. My wife also suffers from depression.

Just curious but how long has she been in your son's life? I get the vibe that she's his stepmom and not that it excuses an arguably lame gift like that to family, but if she didn't partake much in raising him, it's understandable that he would put way more into his gift to you than hers.
I agree with the other guy that keeping score is lame, especially about who the kids like more if she married you after they were mostly grown. Obviously they're going to like the person who fathered and cared for them since birth more, but that doesn't mean they don't like her so she should chill out about that.

Either way, don't pay for it and ruin your son's nice gesture (to you).

Yeah, that makes a lot more sense. The way you were referring to her (calling her your wife instead of his mom), it sounded like she was someone you married later in life. Totally can sympathize with your wife feeling bad but I believe your son when he says he didn't know what to get her (speaking from experience). Just tell him that he should ask you or his siblings for ideas next time.
I think a good suggestion would be some sort of activity they could bond over together, just the two of them.

I don't know what you dumping the gift would do in this situation, it sounds more like your kid made the mistake here.

Agree with the others to not reject the gift and make the son feel bad. I'd also say that given the circumstances as you've described them, I'd want to just make the son feel good about this nice gesture instead of taking the opportunity to make a big deal about the other inferior gift ...seems like a recipe to ensure neither of you even get the candle next year.

As someone with depression, I understand what your wife is likely feeling. It’s not a scoreboard but there is an evaluation with gifts, attention and anything viewed as having an attachment to appreciation or love. Paying for the Switch wouldn’t solve anything. It probably would make him feel bad. Unfortunately, unless she has a birthday coming up there’s not much to be done now to balance things out. I’m assuming you have or are planning to talk to him about it. Explaining things and the vast difference in gifts is a good idea. It’s not just the dollar amount. With depression and any mental illness, it’s the thought and/or effort in the gift.
You are in a rough spot and it sucks. Maybe not too soon or far, it’d be a good idea for him to do something for her that she would appreciate. An out of the blue gift really means a lot to someone with depression. Good luck.
