Can I use the $5 monthly coupon on gift cards?

Yes you can in store but not online please note not all gift cards will apply to this rule.

I have a $XX.xx pre-owned reward certificate, and I want to use it on a B2G1 transaction. Should I?
It depends. If the three games are equal value, do not use your certificate. The value of the certificate would be applied to the free game, which would not benefit you. If one game is more expensive, you can use the certificate to make it the same value as the other two games ($5 reward certificate applied to transaction with two $10 games and one $15 game would make all three games $10).

TERMINOLOGY AND LINGO:
ASL/SL: Assistant Store Leader, Store Leader; manager positions at GS.
B2G1: Buy two, get one free.
GS: GameStop
JD: Junior detective, an employee who is out to get someone
LP: Loss Prevention; this is the department that actually bans accounts after being flagged.
TC/TiC: Trade credit.
TIV/TV: Trade in value, or what a game currently trades for. When posting a TV for a game, always use the base value.

One of my old accounts got a “30% trade boost” coupon. Do I have to be a pro member to use it? Haven’t had pro on that account for a while

No. But you can ask if the employee would scan the ebc barcode after they pull up your pro account. Works fine in the system that way, but ymmv by employee.

Regarding the 50% trade in bonus does anyone know if I can preorder a switch 2 game with the minimum $5 deposit amount to get the bonus and then cancel it later or do I have to immediately apply all the trade in credit to the switch 2 game?

Tempted to buy a refurb HDD from gamestop.
Anyone buy one before?

Need a cheap drive to store roms and they're $17.
I'd stay away from anything marked as "refurb" by GS. There's plenty of videos online that shows they don't actually do much, if anything, before marking something as refurbished. Depending on the size of the roms and what system they're for, you better off just getting a flash drive or SD card for storage if price is your top concern.
Also, with any used/refurbed storage device, you can't tell how much wear has been done until you take the device home and use it. It could be that it's starting to go on it's last leg when you bought it. Now you're just out of money (and a drive)!

Yeah, rather not risk it failing and only have couple weeks to test.
Ended up ordering a new WD 2tb HDD for $40.

Only decently priced drives at gamestop are the 5tb Xbox drives, they're $130 brand new.

I’ve had employees tell me “In order to get the bonus it all has to go on the preorder” for past promotions. And I’ve had other employees let me put $5

Xbox Series consoles trade values plummeted. I guess price gouging didn't make anyone panic buy and now they are stuck with a ton of them.

fuck. I was literally going to trade mine in today too. I see I'd still get $212 for mine this week as opposed to the $245 I was expecting, so that's a $33 loss... 😒

Do y'all think I should I just hold onto it then for a bit? I'm certainly in no pressing need for store credit after taking advantage of the 100% bonus.

You guys waited too long

Series S at the beginning of the promo would
Have netted you $272. This ran for about almost two weeks

Then it dropped to $245 after promo and ran for another week.

Now it’s $212. No sympathy for those who drug their feet on this

Did the Switch 2 preorder + 50% coupon trade in stack today. Worked even better than I expected. Traded in 7 games and got $200. I had estimated $160 guess I did my math poorly or maybe didn't add in the pro bonus. Every game value after the bonuses was near or in some cases above the going eBay price. Kind of regret not trading in even more.

I mean, I literally got it delivered today from Dell after managing to price match it despite the recent price hike derailing everything, it's not like I was just holding onto it...

Yea it was a VERY pleasant surprise to see that for once the bonus credit was based off the max amount you get as a Pro member rather than the base amount.

Also I got over $500 from the deal and I still feel kinda greedy, that I could've waited until the last day and gotten more lmao. But I was already trading in so much to begin with, and some values were starting to drop so I just said fuck it, time to move on.

That said, I do have another code on another old account...

Why it pays to gather more stuff. I may hold out till tomorrow to gather a bit more stuff as already one large box full

With just 30% coupons across my accounts, I didn’t think it would be worth it. But what if I also had b2g1 to flip for 80% bonus. Maybe that’ll get me off my ass…Still a lot of work for not great returns.
Arceus and Jamboree are the only notable targets And good luck finding 3 to buy.

So no trade bump today. Really hoping for one next weekend as the 50% coupon expires that Saturday. Have a bunch of games that usually get bumped ready to offload.
I saw quite a few bumps today. Fire Fades, Minecraft PS4, little bg planet 3 PS4, last of us 1 PS5, Hyrule age of calamity, crash 4. Up only a little but enough to notice.

All I see is a steady decline in the trade value of most of my games each week, rather than any bump, and to make things worse, several games have been completely removed from the list too

Well I'll be damned, the 100% extra credit really worked. I made out like a bandit!
I'm a bit confused with the trade in deal, could you help me out?
you mention 100% trade in...Can I simply go and trade in games and put down $5 for a Nintendo switch 2 game and get the 100% bonus?
also, I saw some people mention 50% coupon for trades, is that separate from the 100% that you mentioned?

I'm just a bit confused on both things. My pro account has a 50% coupon when I trade in 3 or more games if that matters.

thank you

Dunno what games you're referring to, but I've found that for some of them that randomly disappeared, I could still find the trade in value by looking up the item as if I were going to buy it. Or if even that fails, those games still show up if you google them

I had a 50% extra trade in bonus coupon. As a Pro member, I also get 50% bonus credit when trading in towards a Switch 2 game or accessory, as you're aware.

Turns out that the bonuses stack, so I got literally the double the trade credit I would've gotten otherwise. Not only that, but it went off of the Pro value instead of the base value.

In your case, your coupon is slightly different from mine with needing at least 3 games, so I can't give you a 100% guarantee that it will stack. But it does sound likely. So all you have to is trade in your games before the coupon expires, and make sure the employee scans the coupon. Maybe the coupon works automatically, but I didn't risk it, I gave them the barcode to scan.

Just do the math beforehand, and you'll looking at the register or whatever you'll know after the coupon is scanned whether or not it worked.

thanks!
I just checked the coupon and it says:

50% extra TIC when you trade in any games.
I was mistaken, thanks again!

I guess they are expecting people to chug an energy drink to binge Mario Kart all night following a midnight release? Not sure what demographic that's targeting.. but I'm just going to pick up during the day and avoid a long line.

my plan was for that too but i'm concerned gamestop will accidently sell out its entire inventory of switch 2's at the midnight release and not have any for people who preordered and picking up the next day.

Fortunately i'm west coast so its "only" 9pm launch time, I'll be going an hour earlier, paying it off, and then wait around to pick it up. Old man me hates being out that late.

I've never understood Red Bull like why not just drink espresso or coffee? that stuff nothing but sugar
Potency primarily. I drink the sugar free stuff from the smallest can when I'm on a long drive/driving at night.

It's less acidic than espresso or coffee (it seems?), so better on my stomach at night.

It's a rare occurrence. The Monster that sells the best is usually the White one, which is also sugar free I think. I'd never get an energy drink that big.

Slayer or Metallica really loud does the same thing and its no sugar no nothing

bad news, just got a most wanted trade email, mario all stars is listed and it's actually a lower trade value than it was a couple weeks ago.

most of the games from the link they send are $2 or $4 higher than they have been.
