Seems like if you got used to having them in TV mode, it would be odd not to have them in handheld. Maybe a joycon pro? 😊

It wouldn't be a pro joycon 2 though since you'd loose the ability to use them for 2 player table top or dual weild for play without a grip (especially in games like Fitness Boxing and ARMS). It would be creating a very very niche controller all for a couple programmable buttons. Which if you got super used to programming them for each game, you could just bring the charging grip or pro controller and limit your handheld gaming to exclude them. Hori though, if they do a split pad pro for swtich 2, they'll have programmable buttons and probably programmable turbo and other stuff. Perfect for a third party that can get by manufacturing lower quantities and also cut out features like mouse/battery/nfc/..etc to help keep production costs low enough to make a profit.

Looks like the Onn microSD express cards from Walmart are made by Lexar. I grabbed a 512GB card.

So glad I took a chance on two 512gb cards as one for my Switch 2 and then one for my son's Switch 2.

Enjoying the Switch 2 but that battery life is on the weak side with how long it lasts.

For those with the NSO Expansion, hold left thumb stick in any direction when loading GameCube app for the original GameCube boot up screen.

I didn't spend a lot of time with Switch 2 but my son and I had a blast playing Mario Kart World on Saturday in Split screen.

I also got my pro controller from Costco on Saturday and I think the Switch 2 version feels better the the OG pro controller.

The only other game I picked up was Fast Fusion and that game rules. If you liked any of their previous games I highly recommend the new game especially at $14.99. I think the game is a steal at that price. I don't understand why the game isn't featured on the Switch 2 eshop.

I'm really looking forward to Donkey Kong in a month. I have that also preordered at Costco.

I'm going to try and preorder Pokemon Z-A for Switch 2 later today. My son was super excited when I showed him the trailer.

I haven't played a lot of it on Switch 2, but what I did play was pretty good. I've played quite a bit on PS5 Pro lately, and of course the Switch 2 version isn't as good, but I was still pretty impressed with it. Using Hello Games cloud saves I was able to download my save and pick up where I had left off. The only issue I ran into was the left and right turning felt sluggish at first, a bunch of stuff was downloading at the time, so I don't know if that was affecting it or not. I saw a tip to turn off the 30 fps lock, and when I did that it was much more responsive (I play in first-person btw).
Thank you. Right now I'm slowly playing Sea of Stars and Stardew as I recover from what seems my 1,000th concussion 😶 but want something I can sink into eventually that's got some sort of meat.

Side note: I will not sell my Zelda OLED. That is going to sit on display. The dock started acting up and I already swapped that out for a Jumpgate, having it as a shiny show piece after I get my S2 is no problem for me 😅

Ugh,,,, Still waiting for those ONN cards to be available near me. Checking almost daily and nothing so far.

How do you know someone is a Costco member? They’ll tell you. 😁

I sitting undecided on an unopened preorder. How’s the transfer process? Am I allowed to have my switch 1 still, or is it like the old days where it’s a one way transfer with no take backs?
It only moves specific saves that can only be on one system at a time, like Animal Crossing and some demo saves, and every other game and save remains. It'll just move all of the games in the library page over, so if you have a bunch of free/cheap bullshit in there, it'll be there on the Switch 2 as it downloads as much of it as it can. It doesn't move any of your Miis over.

Also, the transfer is only available when you first set-up the Switch 2, so you either do it or move on.

There's a really seamless way like Frisky pointed out, and another way they advertise where you can transfer without a Switch 2 around but it'll wipe everything on that system.

If your looking for a thin case i just grabbed this. It fits the switch 2 well so I dont think you have to worry about it scuffing the system since its not soft. Game cartridges fit fine. It's only 16 bucks atm. Also have a Mumba case coming from Amazon only 20 bucks will see if I like that better. It's more like the rds cases, soft on the inside.

How long do you think I can get away with not buying a microsd express card? Paying msrp is something I try to avoid.
It'll depend on how many games you want to juggle. I would probably just wait to see Black Friday deals. Iam sure they'll go on sale. I thought regular sd cards worked, i have one of the nintendo branded sd cards for the switch 1 but when I tried in in the new system it said it couldn't be used. Could have sworn I read somewhere regular sd cards were fine for sw1 games.

Spin-off game Splatoon Raiders announced.

Also, there will be an update for Splatoon 3:
Additionally, a free update for the Splatoon 3 game is coming to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on June 12. The update features the Splatlands collection, consisting of new weapons from the Barazushi and Emberz brands. Based on previous weapons, these new additions have fresh looks with different sub and special weapons. There are a total of 30 new weapon kits in this collection. A returning stage from the original Splatoon game on Wii U, called Urchin Underpass, will also be added to the stage rotation.

Plus, all weapon Freshness caps will be raised and players can earn new in-game Badges. A new stat will be added for Anarchy Battle (Series) called Series Weapon Power. It will track a player’s effectiveness per weapon based on their win/loss ratio in battles – and will then match them with players of a similar power. This makes it possible for players to try new weapons without being disadvantaged and push the limits their favorite weapons.

Further, with this new update Splatoon 3 players on Nintendo Switch 2 can enjoy more detailed visuals and a smoother appearance in locations like Splatsville and the Grand Festival Grounds. Today’s trailer also confirmed that Splatoon 3 players will be able to play together across both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Is anyone actually watching all these opinion videos that are being posted? I don't really care what any of these youtube "content creators" have to say --I'm clearly too old but the look of these overview images alone make me sad for ...well, humanity.

Raiders looks interesting. I think Salmon Run is my favorite thing in all of Splatoon, and so I would be interested to give it a go if it weren't a Switch 2 exclusive. I'm sure I'll try it eventually.

I watch Digital Foundry and Retro Game Corps. I'm waiting for their later, more complete review.
Same because I like their in depth info. Bought the system so an ign review of it or that rgt guy aren't getting my time. Love how Retro Game Corp does his reviews I watch them all even though im not buying any of the devices.

I’ll watch some of the videos doing comparisons or showing gameplay, but I don’t need any of the opinion ones, I can make up my own mind without someone on YouTube telling me how to feel.

This video is 42 minutes long so I am sure it's full of spoilers
I know I haven’t been watching them. And from at least one comment that was made, I get the sense that even those posting them aren’t watching them before they do so. I’m not watching a randomly posted 42 minute video who’s spoiler content is unknown because the poster didn’t watch through it themselves

There's a few stores within 35 minutes of me that have them, but I'm just too lazy to bother right now. I don't need storage today. I'll grab one when I'm either in the area with a store with them or when they are stocked locally and I'm already going to buy other stuff.

I opted not to import everything from my switch because the cloud has all my saves and I don't play Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and certainly don't care about demo saves where the save may be locked to the system. Starting fresh, I think I could probably easily go a couple years without needing a card but I'll get it when it's convenient. Mario Kart World is 22GB. DK Bananza is like 10GB. In the fall I'll want Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment which I might buy physical anyway so install size shouldn't be a big deal. Even if I go digital it likely won't be huge. Age of Calamity is just over 11GB. I personally don't want a bajillion games installed with so many icons anyway. Just what I'm playing right now, maybe some good for social situations, and then I'll add on as I'm ready to actually play other games. I have a pretty large physical switch collection, so outside of a few games with big updates... most have very small updates and will play fine off the cart.

But you do you. You could go the whole generation and simply monitor storage and delete big titles you are done with and never need extra storage.

Yeah I not watching any of that shit either. I really getting kind of annoyed at all of it. We can do this research ourselves we are all adults here. The only Switch 2 video I watched recently was a comparison video between the 3DS and Switch 2 versions Bravely Default HD. It looks like a good remaster and something I may consider for cheap in the future. I'm not really interested in Game Key cards especially when Bravely Default HD is a 9GB download and could have easily been complete on cart. But if that game bottoms out and I can get it for under $15 I may pick it up. I loved the game on 3DS. I'm personally hoping the game key card thing backfires on Nintendo and these games are in the bargain bin for cheap in the future. Time will tell but I'm sure most don't really care.

Now that was a nice little surprise today from Nintendo with the Splatoon 3 update and Splatoon Raiders announcement.

Would like to see the Splatoon franchise expand and Raiders should work out nicely. I just hope that they don't sacrifice a story mode in Splatoon 4

people care.

We can't help it if idiots do 80% of the buying and revenue driving.

But core gamers are still the kingmakers. whom also set buying trends and perform K.O.s when it comes to customer-unfriendly decisions.

Modern Vintage Gamer is a pretty decent channel. The guy behind it does a lot to help highlight game preservation and how important it is, and how abysmal the current state of it is through official channels.
