I was away when they did the 10 cent deal on AoE III, and I've been kicking myself for missing it ever since. I was really hoping they'd revive that this week or at least have some other crazy deals, but the whole thing has been a terrible disappointment.
So... what exactly is supposed to happen when your account has expired? I just followed up on this out of curiosity (my account expired in June, or at least was supposed to), but I have no problem logging into the site and looking at my membership profile, etc. Is this normal? My profile shows...
Sad to see it go, but honestly surprised it lasted as long as it did. The only time I ever used Bing was to see the cashback.
Oh well... some really good deals back when this started. My highlight was saving $200 on a MacBook and another $20 on an iPod touch. Big thanks to Microsoft for...
I do notice some ghosting when playing games with fast moving sprites against static backgrounds, like Air Hockey Gold. It was a little jarring at first, but it's not terrible and I haven't found it to be a huge distraction. I can image other being annoyed by it, though.
Agreed 100%. I bought this a long time ago, and while I do think I got $5 worth of amusement out of it, the experience seemed to actually get worse the longer I played it. It feels like less of a game and more of a tech demo for some indy project.
I honestly don't think the combat is all it's...
You're not missing much. It's basically just a list of headlines. If you read any other gaming site in the world, you've probably seen everything there is to see (gasp! new Zero Punctuation? on a Wednesday? score!). Here's a short excerpt from yesterday's:
It just goes on like that for about 10...
Just wanted to say great work to everyone that's been active in writing to sponsors, etc! It's amazing what this group has accomplished in just the last 24 hours! :applause:
The funny thing about all of this is that this is probably the first thing the ECA has ever done that's actually caused...
It's a fair point, and I can certainly understand why some would prefer to eat the small cost of taking care of this now so they can forget about it. To be honest, I wouldn't really be blowing this off if I thought for a second that the ECA would seriously try to collect membership fees from...
To be fair, they're asking us to physically mail a letter with some type of delivery confirmation. It would cost me about $3.00 to do this -- that's 15% of the total cost of my membership, just to be certain that they won't charge me for a renewal that I already declined, but which (oops!) they...
Wow, ridiculous. I just closed the virtual credit card number I used to join. Good luck auto renewing my membership now, ECA.
The funny thing is that I would have been happy to ignore the Amazon mess and remain a member if I felt that the ECA was actually contributing something positive. But...
My shipping experience with Dell was actually ridiculously good this time around: I placed the order on Monday, 9/7, in online chat (the CSR manually applied the coupon). At that time, the rep said that the order would ship via standard ground shipping and arrive "on or before 9/15." I was a...
