I feel like previous sales have done a much better job at selecting the three games for the community votes. They used to be either pretty close in the percentage off or the final price. When you pit a game that's going to be $12.50 versus one that will be a handful of change, it's not...
Yeah, to be honest, I don't expect them to skyrocket in value after the sale ends. They were simply far too common. Everyone that voted in every community vote got 12, every $10 spent gave you one, and every badge you created gave you another. Currently, every getaway card on the market has...
If I was in charge of one of Steam's competitors, I would've watched all the community votes closely, and today would've been the day I matched the price on all the deals that failed to make an appearance on Steam. Sure, they didn't win the majority of the votes, but every game got enough votes...

The first time they did...
Well, Borderlands 2 going on sale approximately 37 times has convinced me I should obtain a copy for a friend.
Would anyone be interested in trading a copy of Borderlands 2 for my extra copy of XCOM: Enemy Unknown (Steam code)?
The market is pretty much of a mess whose design only works to encourage undercutting. If I see 15 pages of items listed at 50 cents, why would I ever list my item for the same price or higher - especially when it just seems to randomly place you within that list? That's part of the reason...
To be honest, I'd actually disagree with Blade and suggest playing the first Bioshock before Infinite. You don't have to as Infinite's story stands on its own, but there are certain elements to the story that you likely won't appreciate as much if you hadn't played the previous game.
