    I used to have that problem all the time in FF, but I never figured out what caused it. I switched to a more convenient platform: online bookmarking services. I just use the links widget in protopage but most use www.murl.com or www.mybookmarks.com

    Keyboard Volume Shortcuts?

    If you use iTunes, Ctrl+Up/Down will change volume. In Media Player Classic, you just need the up and down arrow buttons. Space bar pauses both. In WMP, F9 and F10 will control volumes, but that may be inconvenient. You might try a free utility like AutoHotKey.

    I haven't tried Tabbrowser to compare, but Tab Mix Plus is beautiful and works great. It looks very nice with the compact menu extension.

    Miranda's not for you, then. It doesn't have direct connect builtin or AIM transfers. Not sure how well the plug-in works now but it used to suck. Sexy? Miranda? Only with a skin.

    Ad-hoc connections don't use access points so I don't believe it can be used with a ds. A wireless ADAPTER won't do you any good. You need a router or you can buy an access point.

    The regular AIM build is full of ads. It's big and stupid looking. Features-wise, maybe it is the best. Stability, somewhat. Resource hogging, not really. Another vote for little ol' Miranda. The others are obtrusive and annoying.

    Was it dead? Because I've seen a cheap motherboard where the CMOS battery was DOA, but just shipping the system without one is insanely weird.
