DoodofDoods, JCrichton - Thanks for the input! The DS library is appealing. I haven't dug into a pokemon game since red/blue, but I can definitely see myself playing a new one. Have also never really messed with jrpgs, but would be more likely to do so on a handheld. Thanks again!
