That is a pretty good title. I'm glad the Ys series is starting to get some love again; for awhile I thought all they were going to do is make re-releases of the originals.
Birth by Sleep was okay. I really enjoyed Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, but the other games are kind of meh. The storyline is just getting too ridiculously complex and new age-y for my taste, and I think the love that was put into the level design of the first two games is absent from the other titles.
I don't know about rare games but back in 2000-2001 you could find Final Fantasy PS1 titles (7, 8, and 9) for $10 at pretty much any used game store like Game Crazy. They are worth more now; I've seen some people pay as much as $60 for one.

I think the main concern people have is that certain dealers are scooping up games, paying money to have them "graded" and then charging thousands of dollars for them when they really should only sell for a few hundred at most.

I have a two part video I put together that has information I really want to get out there because I think many people don't really understand "Japanese roleplaying games" as well as they think they do. It makes me sad when I see so much misinformation spread around the net about these games...
Yes, unreadable books are pretty much worthless.
There are professionals who repair manuscripts and books.
I realize I'm not going to be able to stop people from sealing videogames in plastic and hanging them on a display somewhere, but that doesn't mean I can't think the whole thing is...
Something to bear in mind when buying games.
A lot of Sega's CD games have "CD rot" which is where air bubbles got caught under the sealing during the manufacture process. Take the disc out and hold it label up toward a bright light source. If you see holes, the game has data missing.
