Tried price matching by calling BestBuy. Rep verified $4.99 price and said ok. But the system would not allow him (said price difference too much). I asked him to try $9.99, but same result. So unless someone else has better luck, BB.com is a no go.

Yes the promotion expired months ago, but I had entered the code into the ehop back then and the $30 credit is still active. Does that credit expire? I was not sure since its promotional credit and usually these things have a use by date.

Walked right into my local GS without pre-ordering, asked if they had the systems and the guy said he had 2 extras of Red and Blue. So I bought one Red. I don't think these are going to be as rare as the Pikachu edition, which was practically sold out everywhere within a day.

Are these suppose to be really limited or something? If not, I don't get what's so special about the special edition besides paying $20 extra for a steel book and map. GTAIV's special edition was available for quite a while when it came out.

The Pikachu version will be a lot more rare and valuable. It was truly limited IMO. Besides, the whole world knows what a Pikachu is. I can't say the same for the 2 Pokémon on the front of these 3DS's.

So tempted to grab one, but I really wish they bundled a copy of X or Y with it! Anyway, I'm guessing these will be easier to find than that Pikachu edition.

Really good value here. I'd love to play all the MGS games again. I think the Legacy Collection is going to be readily available (not limited) so I'll grab it during a Black Friday sale. My backlog is just too big atm.
