I'm from Frisco. Pestilence, online deals will almost always be better than local stores because free/cheap shipping is less than tax. If you do want to buy locally look into the Microcenter $100 rebate, I think they re-instated that, will probably be your best local deal. Target at one point...

There is some very misleading information in this thread. A 30" non HD tv for $400? Just going to one of the online deal sites I see a 32" HD LCD for $500, a 27" standard def for < $200, a 42" DLP HD for $1k, a 37" HD LCD for $720, etc. Regardless of what tv you want to buy go look at it in...

Your poll also has no option for an HDTV that has 1080i and no 720p which is what many/most of the early HDTV's had.

Watch the local retail stores for advertising that they will have them in stock, best buy, circuit city, target and toys r us have been holding their shipments for Sundays the past two weeks, I see no reason for that to change and these guys appear to be getting the biggest #s in shipment wise...

I believe you could have asked for a rain-check in that case. At least at that point you wouldn't have to wait in line for it, just get the first one off the next shipment.

Slightly off topic so I appologize for the thread hijack...but check out the upcoming rpgs for 360 vs ps3...360 is going to own ps3 as far as rpgs go this time around. Ps3 has FF coming up and that's it...360 has mulitple bioware exclusives coming among others.

Got mine this morning in Frisco, TX (DFW suburb). Went to Target at 6:40 for an 8:00 opening, was about 30th in line. They passed out tickets at 7:15ish and had only 21. There was practically a caravan of cars from that parking lot down 121 to the shopping area where BB/TRU/CC are located...

I don't know what the overstock one costs but the Microsoft 2 year plan is $60 for 2 years and if you can get a new one for ~$360 from overstock then it has to have more than 1/6th chance to fail to be worth purchasing. I cannot imagine the 360s fail at a rate greater than 1 in 6 so no the...
