Well I found Batman for GC, but CC refused to sell it to me.

The girl rang it up, and was confused as to why it was ringing up $1.99. I guess the security device and the $50 price tag was throwing her. I looked at the monitor and there it was $1.99, but she walks over to the service desk, to ask her manager. Manager flips out and says that its a mis price and no way its real. She then hits a few keys on a terminal at the service desk, and the price changes on the monitor i was looking at, from $1.99 to $49.99.

I reply no I do not want it at that price, I know CC has unadvertised price cuts on games, similar to the $5 deal Last summer. She doesn't budge. I say Isn't it in the system, since its ringing up $1.99 on its own? She replies that its in the system, but she would have to get a price cut notice from the home office. Which I know is shit cause i work in retail also. So I could tell she wasn't going to budge, so I said hell with it, wasn't worth the argument. I just put back the other stuff i was going to buy, and left.

I almost had that happen to me, girl left for a minute, I assume the manager told her to stop wasting their time because she quickly came back and apologized for the delay and that I was right about it being an unadvertised clearance.

Well just like last year, I'm back to give some info on the whole clearance deal. We were sent notices on Wednesday about a Clearance sale coming up again. I havent been to work today, so I'm not sure if there's a list yet. It is a little weird that some stores arent ringing up properly and others are. I'm assuming that they're being a little more careful with this sale unlike last year where the sale went on early and a lot of people were buying the games before the clearance sale was being advertised(damn you CAGers :p ).
 
Now I'm finding myself getting really curious about games that are also eligible for the Hastings trade-in deal.
Alter Echo - XBox
Silpheed - PS2
The Bouncer - PS2
Aren't these games that were super-cheap at CC at one point in time? Man, snatching these up for $1.99 and swapping them 4-for-1 at Hastings would be a sweet, sweet score indeed...
Unfortunately, I don't think my CC has these three particular titles in stock any more. :(

Wow that's an awesome deal for R.A.D. I know that I got mine at last summer's CC sale. It was the last one too and it wasn't even on the main list at the time, but I tried it out and it came up for 4.99.
 
Aww man....i think that my CC has some of these games. I just can't wait to go out and get some at CC later today. Seems like the list keeps getting added too.

I wonder if Kung Fu Chaos, The Bouncer, Alter Echo, Silpheed and other games that were part of the 4.99 madness from last year that were retagged as "Value Priced Games", are mostly the culprits that are ringing up 1.99. Still worth it though.

I think if it has that tag over the original UPC it won't be $1.99. My CC has some Xmen Next Generations but they are 'Value' tagged...I'm not even going to bother with them when I go back. I think this is why Syberia Xbox was a YMMV title during the $5 sale last year. Some CC's had them tagged and other's did not.

they wont be. i brought up xmen and it scanned 19.99 because of the sticker over the upc.

Thanks for this thread. I got Batman Rise of Sin Tzu, XMEN Next Dimension, and I Ninja for $1.99 each. Cant beat that deal. Wish they had La Pucelle, though.
 
I grabbed a bunch of older looking games to have them scanned and none really rang up cheaper. Some of the titles I remember are:

Primal
LoK: Defiance
Sphinx
Nightmare of Druaga (came up as 17.99 instead of the marked 39.99)
Hunter: Wayward
Rogue Ops

and a couple of others I can't remember. I checked to see if any of the above had stickers over the upc and didn't see any. No luck on any of the 1.99 games.

I also checked phantasy star online for xbox but it was a no go still ringing up for $19.96. If anyone has a copy of la pucelle tactics they want to get rid of I'll trade two of the games I just picked up for it.

Looks like my cc has pretty well been cleaned out. I did see a few copies of X-Men: Next Dimension but it looked like they had a new sticker placed on top of the old one. Does that mean that it is still the marked price?
 
new sticker = labelled price
no sticker = 1.99 MAYBE. its a gamble depending on the store and who you talk to.

at least in my experience.

Too bad, I really wanted to get X-men : ND, but only found it at the labelled price..
 
I went to the CC in Lakewood, Ca and found 4 copies of La Pucelle PS2, and 2 copies of Batman ROST PS2, but they refused to sell them to me. They stated that they were system errors and could not be sold. Also the Hobbit Xbox rang up for $9.96. I even tried to buy the La Pucelle at sticker price of $49.99, hoping I could price match at a different CC, but they wouldn't sell to me. Maybe someone else will have better luck with a less attentive CSR.

I did manage to get Batman ROST GC for $1.99 at the Long Beach Store they didn't have anything else though.
 
Finally a new CC sale, wish I could go tonight but I cant, ill go tomorrow in the afternoon for sure, THEY BETTER HAVE SOMETHING!
 
They had a copy of Xmen : Next Dimension for PS2 at a local CC but it didn't ring up at $1.99 - it was $19.99, which is what the price on the sticker said.

I did pick up a copy of Socom 2 for $9.99 though, so it wasn't a total loss.

Yeah, it seems like all the games that could possibly be $1.99 have that damn generic barcode sticker over the actual barcode, preventing them from being rung up at the clearance price.
 
Price-checked a few older games, found a good one that hasn't been listed:

Beyond Good & Evil (GC) $1.99

Picked up I-Ninja (XB) as well. The Hobbit (XB) rang up as $9.96, and Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu (XB) was $9.99, no stickers over the barcodes either.
 
I'm surprised how lazy you guys are...GRAB any game that you think rang up at $9.99 several days ago or games that somehow made it by the $5 sale and have an employee check. This is a great sale right now but if you guys are just going to grab the short list that's on page 1 chances are you are not going to find squat. Either that or you're going to only walk away with one game and in the process rise the awareness of the employees and manager to the deal and possibly miss out on a few gems.

If you're going to the one at Atlantic Center, don't waste your time. I checked the shelves, behind every game, and they didn't have jack. I asked the dude working in the video game department if they had La Pucelle Tactics. He paused and said that everything they have is on the shelves. So I asked him to check his computer to see if they had it in-stock and he said there weren't any; I took a quick glance at the screen and it clearly said "STOCK: 9". Maybe the employees took them, maybe I misunderstood it, I dunno. Good luck if you're going there.
 
BAAAH!... i just came back from CC and they had some of those new games listed while i was out :(... oh well... I did pick up two copies of power drome for $4.96 each (FYE value: $11)

Some other games I found didn't have the original UPCs; they were covered by sticker UPCs so I was SOL for the $1.99 on those. :(

Well, I hit up my CC and came away happy:

Bombastic - PS2
Maken X - Dreamcast
both rang up for $1.99, with no sticker over the barcodes.

The REALLY cool thing though is that my CC had these shrinkwrapped 2-packs of PSOne games, with a red cardboard border around them. These were also ringing up at $1.99! So, for $2, I got a 2-pack containing Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Blaster Master: Blasting Again. There were other 2-packs, but they had really shitty games...Tomb Raider + Some Skydiving game, and another one with some surfing game. I didn't get either of those.

So, I guess you can add the PSOne two-packs to the list!

You should probably take The Hobbit off the list for the Xbox. I just looked at my receipt since I saw that noone else was getting it for that price and I noticed that the lady rung up Chessmaster twice. I shouldn't complain I got the hobbit by accident for 1.99. Sorry for any confusion, I may have to go to cashier forever now. :)
