I couldn't believe they even had one in stock, but if you can find it @ a CC B&M it's definitely a steal at that price especially since it's brand new :)
The CC's around me were cleared out pretty good during the $5 sale, and what's left has mostly been re-UPC'ed. I did manage to get 2x PS2 PowerDromes, a PS2 Big Mutha Trucker and a PS2 Auto Modellista. That's pretty slim pickings across two stores.
Not really... just if there's any decent XBox games. None of which have been listed yet.

I live closest to the CC by McKinley Mall, so I might check that out tomorrow.
let me know if you find anything, that jawn is awfully far from my crib. if you could find me a silent scope complete, youd be my best friend.

edit: or BGandE for gc.

dammit. i did get my hands on a single la pucelle, so i won't bitch, but CAG makes you so spoiled. i saw a couple of the other games that have been mentioned but all of them had the evil sticker over them and scanned at the higher prices. no way around it really. i checked a couple other games, nothing worth noting though. anyhow, the elston, north and touhy CCs in chicago are empty (i got the last pucelle). picked up the incredibles and badder santa for $20 total at disc replay, and soul caliber 2 limited edition guide for $2.50 at TRU in the same trip, so i'm a fairly pleased CAG for the night.

I was able to pick up an X-Squad and a couple of Tenchu's. They also had Matt Hoffman for the Xbox, but it did not ring up at $2. And Tomb Raider II and GTA2 both rang up at $4 each, not worth it to me. And there was also a Sega Bass Fishing for the DC for $4. That is about all that they had.

If anyone could pick me up any of the following if they get extras:

PS2
La Pucelle Tactics
Chessmaster
R.A.D.

Cube
Batman : Rise of Sin Tzu (big box with lithograph)
Disney's Magical Mirror Starring Mickey Mouse
Eternal Darkness
I-Ninja
Beyond Good & Evil

Xbox
Freedom Fighters
Silent Scope Complete

But I am especially focused on the Cube games. I even have a copy of BGE for the PS2, if someone wanted to trade them straight across.

I was pretty surprised to actually find an LPT. I also got Power Drome for Xbox and PS2 ($4.96 each). I checked World Destruction League: TT, but it had the value sticker and wasn't worth fighting for. I did fight for the Chessmaster I found (since I had proof on the CC site that it was $1.99), but no luck. First the CSR was convinced that it was a different game because the cover art wasn't an exact match, the version sold on the site didn't state "Online" on the cover, and the UPC didn't match. I was finally able to show her that the UPC did match the one on the top of the case, it just didn't match the stickers that CC put all over the case. She got the acting manager to come over, and after some back and forth, and upon seeing that I was buying 3 other games (which I'm sure he assumed were priced as marked), he offered to meet me half way and sell it to me for $7. I left with the other three games, and the name and number for the actual manager. I may or may not call him tomorrow.

good luck, that store is always a goldmine.

I was able, this time around, to score two Batmans for PS2. My store had a bin full of games, including a ton of Whirl Tour and Hoffman BMX, but they were all re-UPCs, so. Anyways, just wanted to thank OP once again! ^_^

I wonder how long this offer will end. I dunno about you guys, but at my CC they have price scanners, so I think I'll be able to find some good stuff. Right now I'm focused on Cube games though cause thats the only console I have, but I might try getting a bunch of ps2 games for trade-in deals. Does anyone know if these games qualify?

thanks for all of the info on the games so far guys. i have a list of 30 games or so to check out. i need to pick up 4-8 games to trade into gamerush, so im hoping nobody has hit up the tustin CC already. there was nothing at the one in coasta mesa

I got skunked. Found Whirl Tour, X-Men Dimension, and a few others, but they all had the sticker over the UPC and rang up at regular price ($10). However, I did get the last three Powerdromes on Friday, so you win some and lose some.
I made out of my CC with a couple extra La Pucelle's (left a couple in store... PM me if you want to offer for them) I had the XMen game but with the sticker over the barcode, it rang as 19.99... MattHoffman XB rang up as 12... oh well, did get the most sought after of these sale games
Same here... I tried Matt Hoffman on Xbox and it rang up as $12.

Nothing at my CC's. You guys are so lucky finding stuff like BG&E and La Pucelle Tactics.

I wound up digging through all the PS2 racks for anything interesting (they managed to put almost everything in alphabetical order...surprise surprise!). I managed to find one LaPucelle and nothing else. Because I was going on the list from this morning, I only looked for the Ubisoft Batman game, I Ninja, Eternal Darkness & LaPucelle. I might have to go back to search for I-Ninja for GC/XB and Freedom Fighters tomorrow. Good times!

LUCKY!!! ^__^ I was just having that converstation at CC today with my GF about it! Wish mine had 'em....

I was able to find a Silent Scope Complete and a Big Mutha Truckers (GR trade-in fodder that one is). Also got an Xbox Powerdrome for $4.96. I was fortunate in that I got the (one and only) cashier who had price-matched the Gamecrazy ad a few weeks ago and gave me Fight Night Round 2 for $16 (no questions asked). I knew I was gonna get the games for cheap when I saw her at the register.

Unfortunately couldn't find Chessmaster, La Pucelle, or any of the GC titles. I saw the following with stickers and didn't even bother: PS2 18 Wheeler, and Xbox Matt Hoffman Pro BMX 2. They had a pathetic Cube section with none of the cheap games - I KNOW I saw that big box Batman game at some CC recently.

add BloodRayne 1 for Xbox

i picked up at once CC:

2 batman rost GC
2 batman rost PS2
Bloodrayne Xbox
powerdrome ps2 (4.96)
gta 2 ps1
$17.?? total

at that same CC, i checked the price of...with no go:
matrix xbox
custom robo gc
hack outbreak ps2

the girl there was making different piles of what games i was going to get and what games i wasn't going to get...then she had to go find the key to open up the spider alarm thingie on the batman rost gc boxes...so when she came back, i guess she forgot what she was doing and she threw the wrong games in the box...she ended up giving me custom robo, hack outbreak, bloodrayne, both gc batmans and both ps2 batmans...needless to say, i didnt complain

at another cc, it was a complete waste of a trip
so i bought the games she forgot to give me, plus a&o
gta 2 ps1
asterix & obelix (14.99)
power drome ps2

im thinking about heading back out to the first cc, they had a lot of different games there that i know were $1.99

more batmans, whirl tour, 18 wheeler, etc
:bouncy:

I'll confirm with the previous post on this - there *IS* a clearance sale about to happen at CC. As of last night there is still no official list, but I suspect there will be one soon. I however did not know that the price markdowns have already started taking place until now otherwise I would of started doing some checking for you folks.

As soon as I get any word - any details or anything of use I will let you folks know. And trust me folks... you know I would never BS a fellow CAGer. After that one aweful stunt that was pulled a few months ago I don't want anyone to feel that is about to happen again.

So you have my guarantee on this - this sale is 100% Demolition Man legit! :D

When this sale starts, would there be a few kind souls out there who wouldn't mind picking up a few extra games for those of us whose local CC's all shut down?

arrrrgh. i hope we have some news by the time i get home this morning and have a chance to run up there again. i know they have some of the games that will be on the list at one. now if someone could find a veiwtiful joe from the 5 dollar sale, i would give them props.

To be honest I haven't seen a single "Viewtiful Joe" (or "Beautivul Joe" as a former coworker called it) at my CC since the $4.99 sale last year. Don't give up tho, you never know as there might be one lurking at your local CC behind a stack of "Bobby's Rootin Tootin Shootin!" ;)

So, are there upcoming price-changes that haven't been made yet? Or are you saying that there are games that have been dropped that we just haven't discovered yet. If the former, then wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. If the latter, then wooooo.

The only ones I ever see are the PS2 version (the one not a part of the sale last year)

The only way I got my copy was through a trade...

The Mobile CC didnt have much that wasnt stickered over other than the LaPucelles I picked up, they also had the Power Drome games as well, but I didnt care to get that

(before CAG I would have picked up most ANY game I found that was 5 bucks, not I can be more selective)

I have a gut feeling there might be more coming but I'm just going on instinct at this point. Like I said earlier if I hear anything I'll let you folks know. :)

demomanTNA - Are you a CC employee?

Guess you don't need to answer that if you don't want, but I was wondering if you heard about this email that went out to CC employees claiming this $1.99 game thing is a pricing mistake and instructing the employees to with-hold the games they come across. Is it me or is this starting to sound like the $5 game sale?

Well, it is a pricing mistake in that the games we're scoring for $1.99 were SUPPOSED to have the UPCs covered with new, CC-specific UPC stickers that mark them as being value games for their $19.99 and under "Value Game" price point.

That said, I love pricing mistakes. :D

Like I said earlier as of last night I haven't heard much myself other than a list is coming soon, and that this is an official clearance sale. Most likely at least for right now as how I see it any employee/manager who claims this is a "pricing mistake" obviously isn't aware at all about the forthcoming clearance sale.

Alright, so it sounds like it's up to the employees and managers to decide how this is handled at this point. I'm sure both of the CC's in my area know about this now...partially thanks to my CA. It's hard to be sneeky about buying 3 titles and only paying $6. Anyway, I guess I'll find out when I go back today but at least it sounds like this is a real deal and not a price mistake...thanks.

I wonder if CC will remove the 'Value' tags when the sale starts.....

I also plan on buying any $1.99 game that CC overrides the price and marks up to $19.99-49.99. I did this on accident during the $5 sale with a Dynasty Warriors game. It rang up $29.99 and I just decided I'd return it instead of having the employee remove it (I was in a hurry). When I returned it the next week it rang up in the computer as $4.99, the employee asked if I wanted it for that price and I said yeah. So he gave me 10% of the difference in addition and I ended up only paying like $2.50 for it. Can you imagine them marking up a $2 game to $20-$40 and then having to give 10% of the difference on that. I'm curious to see what they'd do.

It appears that CC is just stupid. Why would they change the computer prices to $1.99 and then tell the employees to put UPCs over the normal UPC? Why don't they just leave the price in the computer as $49.99 and then put a UPC over it for $19.99

Some of these retail chains just don't deserve to be in business.... Oh well better prices for me!

me either. i was in rochester right after the sale and they had about 6 copies there. i grabbed three and brought them up but they rang up full price. but if someone was to find it, that could possibly be the best 1.99 game in history.

im assuming that this is leftovers from the 5 dollar sale. i know i've seen some of those old games at a few spots, so if something comes up this afternoon im likely off in search.

So no GBA $1.99 goodness yet? I believe any of the $4.96 GBA games would be $1.99 too. Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue and White are the only 2 I remember, but anyone had any luck with GBA games yet?

The CC near me in Kennesaw GA sucks! They have a very small value title section that had some of these titles and they all had the UPCs covered. I looked around at the regular sections and the prices they want for these games are ridiculous. Just to name a couple $49.99 for Wario World GC, $39.99 for Veiwtiful Joe 2 GC.HAH!

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Sorry...I went to CC yesterday in search of X-Men: Next Dimension. They had jack...even on the other cheapy games. Anyway yesterday I am in the store and spy one copy of Beyond Good & Evil for the GC. It says $19.99 on it. I keep thinking I know I have the PS2 version but I want it for the CUBE. So I put it back and take off. Then this morning at work I read that its $2!!! DOH!!! So low and behold I just made a quick run back to CC and picked it up!! Thanks CAG.

Also I didn't have time to look for the other stuff (had to get back to work) on the list but something is definitely up. The girl who rang me up said some of the games ringing up cheap were a price mistake (When will CC learn?) but that BG&E was clearanced and ok to sell me. I also saw a manager and another employee going over the racks of games and the employee was scanning GBA games so some of those may be in there as well. I asked her what else was on the cheap but she wouldn't hook me up with a list. If anyone has a scanner at their CC I suggest using it!!!

some fatwallet post indicated that this is a sale scheduled for this weekend that got out early. any CC employees know for sure?

There's a PS2 Viewtiful Joe at my CC. I didn't think to have it price-checked, although I did get shut down on X-Men: Next Dimension for PS2.

Here's an idea for some of you CAGers who are close to CC's and frustrated by the 'Value' stickers over the UPCs. Buy the 'Value' tagged game you want the most, peel off the CC UPC, and return the game next week. When they scan in the original UPC it will come up as $1.99 and then you can just ask for the difference back or if you find a cool employee they may give an additional 10% back making the game pretty much free. If anyone tries this, please do not do it to multiple games...it will raise some eyebrows. But one game looks like a coincidence.

i actually have a copy of xmen that i didnt want to put back after it rang up 19.99 so there is a strong possibility that i will try this when i return it.

Back from the Charlotte, NC location (S. Blvd). Nothing to report. Some of the games on the list rang up at normal price.

Oh well, it was worth a shot I guess.

Two Notch CC in Columbia, SC had zilch, nada, nothing. Not that I can find anyway.

Guy came up to ask if I needed help. I asked if they had La Pucelle to get the ball rolling. He goes to the computer and I follow (of course). He looks it up and they have zero in stock. It lists it at 1.99. So I ask if there are any other 1.99 games listed and he says they can't pull list like that for me. So I spent the next 30 minutes looking for stuff and not finding any games that have been listed. They had some PS1 games left, but I did not check the prices.

Did pick up Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Eleven for about $22.

So has anyone else been able to try Mario Party 5? It's awfully new to have been clearanced that low already. I bought MP4 as part of the last $5 clearance sale, so I could understand it being $1.99 now, but not MP5...
