I couldn't believe they even had one in stock, but if you can find it @ a CC B&M it's definitely a steal at that price especially since it's brand new :)

Here's an idea for some of you CAGers who are close to CC's and frustrated by the 'Value' stickers over the UPCs. Buy the 'Value' tagged game you want the most, peel off the CC UPC, and return the game next week. When they scan in the original UPC it will come up as $1.99 and then you can just ask for the difference back or if you find a cool employee they may give an additional 10% back making the game pretty much free. If anyone tries this, please do not do it to multiple games...it will raise some eyebrows. But one game looks like a coincidence.
I dont think this will work. Since the UPC numbers will be different when you bring the game without the UPC sticker, than it wont match with the number on the receipt.

Good point, I didn't think of that.

Hey, if anyone can pick me up the following games I'll pay handsomely for:

X-Men Next Dimension
Batman ROS w/ lithograph GC
La Pucelle tactics

Willing to pay as 20 bucks for all three plus shipping.
I dont think this will work. Since the UPC numbers will be different when you bring the game without the UPC sticker, than it wont match with the number on the receipt.
Actually, that might be perfect. If we know that it's the interior UPC symbol that holds the savings, you can buy it for full price, take it home, remove the sticker and try to do the price-adjust that others have described. The UPC may not match up, but it will be hard to argue that it's not the same game that you bought.

Now I'm wondering since there is a sale confirmed, what will they do with the UPCs covered? Removing them would be a pain, so I'm guessing they'd put new ones over?

Went to CC in kentwood MI, X-men next dimension 19.99 not 1.99 both copies. I got Sphinx on sale for Gamecube 9.96 though which was good. FF7 for $7.50 was there i was thinking about getting that but decided i'll just keep using my old copy. i couldn't find anything for 1.99.

I am not sure but...

IHRA Drag Racing 2 (PS2) might be 1.99 as well?

I think it was listed as 1.99 but did not ring-up as 1.99?

Anybody hit any Houston Area CCs yet? I was thinking of making the trip up to Pearland or Sugarland after work, but if someone can let me know if it's worth the trip or not, it could save me a 45 minute ride. Thanks....

Add Freedom Fighters $1.99 for the GameCube to the master list

Also got:
Freedom Fighters - Xbox
I-Ninja - Xbox
Beyond Good and Evil - GC

fuck fuck fuck, my CC didnt have a goddam thing on that list accept GTA 2, so I bought that and a copy of DBZ Final Bout which was half off, even worst is I asked the guy to check in the computers (I actually handed him my list) he looks at the list, goes in the back and comes out 3 minutes later saying that they are all sold out adding they are those 1.99 games and they are all sold out, yea right bet you are hoarding them yourself, grrrr.

What did DBZ end up being?

I predict seeing alot of these games on the shelves at *insert used game store here*

The manhattan beach CA store had nothing on the shelves last night, and to my dismay they were shooting a damn commercial there too, fucking bastards wasted 45mins of my life.

Any kind hearted CAGs in my area (los angeles, CA) feel like sharing their stash. PM if you find extras. Thanks.

I guess that might depend on how it shows up on the receipt.

Its funny one circuit city I went to was literally right next to a gamestop, I didn't even have to guess where the majority of 5 dollar games ended up last time around.

I went to my CC late yesterday night. I didn't see any BG&Es (Cube), Batmans, Powerdromes, or any other Cube, PS2, or Xbox games. I thought that long ago I had seen a La PUcelle there, but it wasn't even in their computer there or in their list that they have. I actually did see some of the aforementioned PS2 and Xbox games, but they were in the "Value Bin" and most had the sticker covering the barcode. I did try however Rogue Ops and a Matt Hoffman but they came up as $12 each. Oh well. Still the night wasn't a loss, I did pick up a Ratchett and Clank: Going Commando non-GH and a Nightmare of Druaga, both which I have been wanting for a long time. 9.99 for the Ratchett and Clank and 17.XX for Druaga. The CC I went to didn't have any PSone games that were 1.99 either. They were all PSone games that are still part of their 50% off sale of them like FF7 and Omega Boost.

But now I must yell and scream ARRRRGGGHHHHHH!!! I just saw Successful Dropout's post and he lists the Jampack Volume 10 as 1.99. I actually wanted to try a couple of those and didn't. I don't really care for the game, but the case is sure worth it and what I was actually after since some of mine are a litte beat up.
yo hiccup! it was the sahara location. but now since everyone's stating games from the 5.00 sale are eligible i might go back there...

btw, i saw 1 la pucelle there a day ago. it was gone today...plus, i had the cashier check other stores for it. he typed the upc in the cpu (from a white binder behind the register), futzed around, couldn't find it anywhere else. maybe its not in the system?

:robot:
Hey thanks for keeping me informed man. I just posted my findings but I forgot to put which store it was. It was the Stephanie Street Store across from Sunset Station. And you're right, I had them check their master list of games and their computers and it seems that that store didn't even have/recieve any of them. Still not too big of a deal....I already got one from last year's Target 19.99 blowout of them. I was just going to see if they had one of the La Pucelles for a friend and then to pick up a couple extra for trades on here (yes CAG, the hiccupster is building up a trade list) and maybe one or two to finish off for a trade in at EB for their current trade in deal.

I thought BB had them on clearance for $0.99 each? The red and yellow ones rang up for that price no longer than a few days ago for me.

Went to the CC in Ledgewood and Livingston NJ. Picked up La Pucelle, I-Ninja (GCN), Evil Dead (PS2) and SW: Bounty Hunter (PS2). There were a couple more I-Ninjas at the Livingston store if any other NJ CAG wanna grab them. Otherwise not much left.

Yaeh they are but I haven't been able to find any. It seems that whenever they drop in price, they magically disappear on the same day. My suspicion is that it's one of the employees. The only way I have found the Jampacks for the cases has been at the Kmart sales, which they also cost between 1.50-1.99 which isn't too bad IMO for just the case and even the game which I can trade in at some stores.

Just to let you know, the red ones are just the regular blue dvd cases and not the PS2 case with the hub and mem card holder. I was a little peeved when I found that out when I just wanted the case for replacement.

Sawmill Rd in Columbus OH didn't have anything (checked everything but Xbox) except 1 copy of BG&E for Gamecube, which I picked up. Didn't see anything else at all.

Not really worth it IMHO as the Jampack 10 and 11 come in those standard DVD cases that launch PS2 games did (i.e. they don't have the memory card holder).

Don't even bother checking the Tri-County, Fields-Ertel or Rookwood Circuit City locations here in Cincinnati. They have absolutely none of the games that have been listed so far. I was able to find a couple of Beyond Good & Evil's, but after I bought those there is nothing left. I pretty much figured it would be this way though, since these CC's were picked clean during the $5 sale.

ya know, i'm not sure hiccup if there was one copy of la pucelle or three copies at the sahara CC, but all i know is that when i went a day after i saw it to go check, there was a huge GAP in the spot i last saw it. d'oh!

For all my Chicagoland CAGers, Don't bother with the Matteson or River Oaks stores. Nothing at all at either store. Might be checking out the one in Merrilville, IN in the next day or two unless someone tells me otherwise.
I personally confimed that Suikoden 2 is $1.99 i was checking upc all mornign then i got fired
Awesome. My CC has about 50 of those, but there is no way I was going to pay the $14.99 they were marked. /Sarcasm

Sorry you got fired (you didn't really, did you?).

Oh, and when you wrote that the co-worker put in the wrong UPC, you were indicating that Mario Party 5 is not $1.99, correct?

I just picked up:

X-Men ND PS2
Freedom Fighters Xbox
Freedom Fighters GC
I-Ninja PS2

I'm going back later to check on a few more games that I saw. I'll post my findings.

I managed to get BG&E for GCN for $1.99.

However for PS2 Viewtiful Joe, Whirltour, and XMen all rang up as normal price (between 10 and 16).

Well, last night I pulled UPC stickers off of X2: Wolverene or whatever the hell its called for PS2, Slipheed PS2, and The Haunted Mansion PS2, each was $2.00. The X2 game got $10 with $5 bonus at Gamerush, Slipheed was $6.50, and The Haunted mansion was $10.

Non-Greatest Hits PS2 games in the Screaming deals bin seem to all be $2 after you rip off the UPC sticker. I didn't have luck with Gamecube or GBA games since, for whatever reason, the UPC stickers were way harder to pull off and would keep ripping.

Basically with the above purchases plus a pair of PS2 powerdromes which got me $12 after bonus at Gamerush I managed to get $70 in GR credit after a cash outlay of $21 at CC.

(please forgive spelling)

oh also since CC puts the barcode on the price tag on the front of their games I had to slightly damage that barcode to make sure the casher would scan the back of the game.

The only thing I've ever gotten from these CC "sales" is more mileage on my truck.
For the Chicago folks, the Gurnee Mills and the Vernon Hills locations have NOTHING, save one copy of X-Men that had already received the new UPC sticker.

Dammit. :bomb:

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines Xbox
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Xbox

Both $1.99. This CC had about 5 copies of both games.

I have discovered that for Whirl Tour and 18 Wheeler, they do not scan properly using the box UPC. Without the "special sticker", they then assume it sells for 9.99. YMMV

Add Terminator 3 : Rise of the Machines X-box to the list.

Doh!
beat me by a minute..!

In your sig, are these two statements related:

"I am so hooked on satellite radio."

and

"Not playing anything in particular, but filling up my collection as best as I can."

I rip off the UPC stickers and buy them because I:

A) am doing nothing illegal
B) if Blockbuster won't give me a good enough price on them I can return them to CC for the cash I spent.

The games are listed in their computer system with the original barcode, by name, for $2. If they were unwilling to sell the games for that price why did they even put it in the system in the first place?

In any case (and this is not intended as a flame/troll) morality does not matter to me, and this is not the thread to start a discussion of it. So I have used the shared knowledge of others, and posted my experience, if another decides to do as I have done more power to them. If a legal means of stretching every gaming dollar does not mesh with your ethical outlook, don't do it. But unless I am somehow violating this forum's rules (and if I am I'm sorry, mods: delete my post) I could do without your moral condescension

Went back to the Lakewood, Ca store to see if the La Pucelle got put back out, but it wasn't. Did manage to pick up Beyond Good & Evil GC $1.99, also BG&E Xbox is $9.96 and Star Wars Bounty Hunter Gamecube which was at one time $4.96 is now $24.96. This time at Lakewood I went to the cash register instead of the Customer service desk, the guy at the register didn't seem to care about the $1.99 price.

Found a Mario Party 5 at Long Beach CC, but it was $50 and not $1.99.
does anyone think a 30 minute ride to a CC would be worth it?
No. Most games would probably already been taken. Also the selection of $1.99 games is not that great.

The whole value sticker thing is a weird thing IMO. Technically one person could get a game at the $1.99 price and one could get it at the $10 or more price at the same store depending if they were marked or not. Why should one person get screwed? I think more than anything this has to do with CC's lack of in-store game organization. Not that Best Buy's game section always looks perfect but it is usually a lot more intact than CC's.
