You can always sell them when the Extended Versions come out. There's no date for them, so that likely gives you at least a year to enjoy the theatrical Blu-Rays.

Hmm ... so you guys think it's probably not worth trying to hold out and get the entire Blu-ray Lord of the Rings trilogy at Target because of the picture in the ad? I'd like to pick up the LOTR trilogy but if I can get it for less, then that's even better.

i was gonna try and risk it and see if they honor the price... if not than you can pick up each at $8... but you'd have to pay tax... :(

I did end up buying the Harry Potter set. $6.66 per movie was just a bit too tempting.

As for trying to get that Target ad mistake pricing, I seriously doubt they will honor that. Even if they do, it isn't worth the $16 savings over the Amazon price for all 3 to brave Target early in the AM on Friday and wait in line for 2-4 hours... If they do honor it, it will be gone instantly I would imagine, so you'd probably have to line up before they open.

FWIW, they already shipped my 3 LOTR discs with estimated delivery on Wednesday! That is awesome - we can have a movie night Weds already!
 
So have prices for some of these black friday items been dropping? I saw fanboys dropped $.50, think I may wait and see how low these go before ordering.

Your wife obviously knows you better than I do, but damn, you must have no heart. :lol: Princess Bride is one of those rare movies for which I have never met a person who disliked it, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, etc. I almost want you to just buy it now to see if you'd be that first person.

I concur, it's like Forrest Gump. One of those movies everyone seems to at least enjoy. Oddly enough, both movies have the same female (Robin Wright) as the lead female role.

Oh well, I didn't even realize we had a Black Friday thread for the DVDs/Blu-Rays. I thought we just had the gaming thread here (I've been subbed to this $10 and under thread for a while and generally don't look in the DVD forum). In years past I haven't paid too much attention to the movie deals but with my new HDTV I've been looking at more Blu-rays.

As long as it isn't the Blu-ray versions that's cool. Now I can go to bed and not have my wife wake me in 3 hours. Nice!

i never caught the series, so am wondering should i even bother now considering that season 6 will only be released next year.

If your interested i'd say now is the time to grab at least the first season on a blind buy. From what i've heard form a lot of people the first four seasons are great then it starts to go downhill.

Zach and Miri is down to $6.99. I've had it in my cart for awhile and every time I go it drops again. I don't even know if I want/need it, but $7 is hard to pass up.
