Eh, wish I had called now because I still haven't heard back from my change request email, but then again the order is still pending from the manufacturer. Can't call today, but I'll probably just call them on Monday assuming it hasn't updated or I haven't received an email by then.

Enishi is technically the sequel. As I understand it, Enishi is more serious than AYA, and supposedly better.

Drop Enishi and get something better. If you had room for one more disc, I'd say Jubei-chan 2, but since we're working with three... Koi Kaze would seem to fit in with the type of anime you have on your list here. Overall, these are pretty good choices.

I don't know if this was said yet (not reading through 13 pages) but animecornerstore.com is having a 5 dollar per disc sale, and the only requirement is you buy two. So if there's maybe 12 titles you want, you don't need the get another 8. Although you should. Because, why not?

Just putting it out there. I picked up 12 discs from corner store and they came today... sounds like a great deal to me =)

Now if the Samurai Champloo DVDs go on sale before it's over I will be pissed... Actually I'll be happy, but it will suck having to place another order (espically considering how I could have got 5 more for free). But Fighting Spirit was the only thing I was interested in that I don't already own. I heard it was good, I hope it is, if so I should be able to get more of my friends who are boxing fans into anime (one in particular who refuses tow atch anything that isn't Ninja Scroll). I bought the Ah! My Goddess Movie because Nobuo Uematsu helped compose the soundtrack and since I could only get 9 of the FS DVDs I needed something else to make a straight ten...
 
Really sucks that I placed my order on the 13th and haven't recieved 1 e-mail on its status. That plus all my items have been saying "order recieved" for 6 days now without the status having changed.
 
Yeah they just charged my credit card this morning, so that makes me really happy. Don't get upset Brian9824, I haven't recieved any email updates about my order either. I think I might make another order now. I want to get Someday's Dreamers, but I am not sure if I will like it or not. What type of anime is it?
 
No idea what someday's dreamers is but it looks good. At least at these prices if you don't like it then its easy to trade/sell it and get your money back.

It's very cute, but very different from the OAV/Movie/TV series (I ordered it and enjoyed what of it I've watched so far). If you decide to pick it up, you might consider picking up the first dvd of Bottle Fairy as well -- if you like one, you'll most likely like the other.

On a similar note, if you want other things that are cute and require little thought to watch, Mao-chan is also included in the sale (just finished with the first disc tonight). The basic premise of the show is 3 second-graders fighting aliens. Cute aliens (literally, that's what they call them -- because they tend to be cute-looking animals).

you made some great choices. finally another ikki fan! i thought more people would pick this up, it has great fighting sequences and gradtuidus panty and cleavage shots. what more could you ask for in an anime?

They are pretty much going in order by when you ordered. I ordered everything on the 11th/12th, and just got my first shipment yesterday (shipped the 21st I think). I changed one of my orders on the 21st, so I moved to the back of the queue for shipping (it's as if I placed the order on the 21st, even though it was the 12th).

BTW - yesterday was super fun! I received 28/60 DVDs. They all fit snugly in a big box, with 'bundles' of 7 DVDs each, wrapped in thick paper for padding. I sat on the floor like a kid at Christmas unwrapping them all, laying them out, and sorting them by title.

I noticed that Tokyo Underground Vols 1,2,4-6 had a sticker indicating they have pencil boards inside. So far that was the only 'extra' I saw. I'm not opening the DVDs until they all arrive, but I know that there are others with extras.

Edit: Oh good. I just checked that order I mentioned changing. Everything went back to being reserved for me (they were in the shipping stage when I changed the order), except for the 3 I changed which are on order. Lain 2 from my first order is also still 'on order', and the rest of the items from my first order are in shipment processing, but I think RS is waiting to ship them out with everything else. I'm estimating/hoping those shipping sometime next week.

Anyone else order Lain 2 and receive it, or is it on order for you guys too? Just curious.

Pretty much the same for me. My first order arrived yesterday, everything present & accounted for. My second order is now showing all "reserved for your order" except for the 3 Someday's Dreamers which I had swapped out.

As an added surprise, I had ordered Sugar: A Little Snow Fairy because I thought it sounded like something my wife & I would enjoy watching together. When it arrived & I started really looking at the cases, I realized we have seen some (but not all) of it before, and did really like it. :)
 
Ok this is odd. Looking at my order it says

Ship Date: Sep 13 2006 which is when I placed my order, it also has a shipment number and the status says Order has been recieved which is what its sad for about 10 days now. I'm definitely going to be calling em tomorow on my day off.

I really dont get how the status of a dvd is "In Stock And Available" with 283 copies left, but its "On Order from Manufacturer" in the "my order" menu.
 
Well it could be part of a shipment thats en route to them that they haven't recieved. Or the ones that are listed as available could be taking into account dvds en route. It really depends on how they do their inventory.

Or their entire system could just be F'd up

Shipped Complete and Processing because they are going to ship the one DVD that I didn't get with the order I received today. The status of each DVD taht I recieved says Shipped.
If it says Processing that means they are currently preparing the order for shipment and checking your credit information. Once your card goes through they will start shipping. It will say either Shipped Complete or Shipped Incomplete if they are waiting for more DVDs to arrive.

Geneon gave them a set quantity that they will send, and Shawne (the owner) has been putting up counters so people ordering will know how many they are going to be getting in and how many are left based on that number. On Order just means that they are not physically at their warehouse yet, but have been allocated a certain number. As long as you can order the item and it's not "sold out", you will get it (eventually).

From past experience, the free shipping is usually USPS Media Mail for US customers. It's very rare I get one shipped UPS, but it has happened before. Probably 1:10 of my past orders has gone UPS. Out of my orders from this sale, all that I have recieved so far (3x25) were shipped Media Mail.
 
My 3 separate orders are 3 different times were shipped in 2 boxes Media Mail for those wondering.

Of course, the shipments were far from complete.

Just a fair warning--- LOTS of the stuff, even on early orders... was not "on hand."

Sweet! I had 7 DVDs left unshipped from my first order, and I just received confirmation that 6 of them shipped yesterday (that Lain 2 is still on order :whistle2:(). So at the very least there will be 3 shipments. My 3rd order of 25 is still waiting on the items I changed. I assume that one will be sent out in its entirety eventually.

I wonder if other studios will ever do a sale like this...

I see, thanks. And now another question, is that Lain 2 regular or Signature Series? I'm thinking about including Lain 1-4 Sig. Series (all that's left basically) if I do another order.
 
I was able to get Lain 2 regular before it sold out. Same with 4 but I received that already. Strange that Lain 2 regular has been on order for so long (I ordered it on the 11th with my first order).
