I was at best buy yesterday and they have these "Red" magazine laying around for free. It was their premiere issue, its a magazine for ATI graphic cards. Anyways, in the back of the magazine are coupons for $10 off any game over 29.99 along with other coupons for ATI products. It doesnt specify whether you can use it for PC games or console games---so i asked the cashier if i can use it for PS2 games, and he said yes.

check your local bestbuy for RED magazine. I found it in the video game section.

It's on their website, your local store should at least get one or two copies. My Best Buy won't have it in until tommorrow morning :(

I did pick up Castlevania for $25 though, it took a manager's override... the cashier looked at the coupon for about five minutes, but never once looked at the register that said "8/28 $10 off PC Games" :rofl: Manager just came by, typed in the code, and left.

Yeah, I just went ahead and tried it out at my BB, and almsot didn't get my discount for Castlevania DS, cuz it said on their computer that it was only for PC games. For a brief moment, I was about to say "forget it" and leave, but instead I left a brief pause to let the manager ponder over it. A second later, he says just to give it to me.

Me thinks I shall try another best buy if I want to use this coupon again. Thankfully, I have 3 more places nearby to hit up. Sweet deal!
 
A pox on best Buy for not having any WoW Game Cards. Six months ago my BB's had 20 cards but no actual copies of WoW. Now they have twenty copies of WoW nut no Cards. And my open BB has none on order. The other BB has seven on order. They claim they have two in inventory but the manager thinks they got stolen since they can't be found on shelves or in stock.

I demand that BB get some cards in order so I can purchase them for $20 before this coupon expires on the 15th. Otherwise, it's another conspiracy of the Man to keep a good squid down!

i tried to use the coupon on catslevania but the stupid manager kept freaking telling me it was a copy. Stupid bitch. Im gonna try a different bb tommorow

It should work. I think it's a PC Game in the system. It's by the PC stuff.

I won't know for sure until I get to try. And I wont get to try until they get some God damn cards in stock!
 
I'm going to best buy in 20 mins to purchase Castlevania DS. Hopefully Best Buy will have the coupon and game. But if they don't, oh well, I'll buy it somewhere else.

Anyways, if my best buy has both of them, will there be any problems purchasing Castlevania DS with the $10 off coupon? I've been reading and it seems some people are having problems. The coupon does say "$10 OFF ANY GAME".

yea that sucks they didn't take it cuz it's a copy. weak shit.

they should take the originals no problem for any game. because on the coupon no where does it say pc games only. it says "any game". the manager also thought it was pc only and i said "read the fine print, it says any game" so they had to honor it.

I did the exact same thing... cept I didn't need 3 more magazines since I got a bunch last time. But yeah, I could've waited a week or more to get the game from Bestbuy.com when they had it at $28, but I decided I wanted to not be an idiot.

By the way, the game is fucking awesome. Everything from the graphics to the music to the gameplay itself is absolutely perfect.
 
Damn this sux! I went to Best Buy and they didn't have Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow. Well they did but they couldn't find it. Stupid bastards. I'll check back tomorrow. But atleast I walked out with two RED Magazines. But whats the point if it expires on the 15th?

But anyways, I'm gonna buy Castlevania DS tomorrow using the Coupon. And next friday I'll use it again for another game. I'm not sure what game I should get next week though. Any suggestions? I have all systems.

Thanks again op, picked up Castlevania DoS with coupon. They had the shipment just come in today and had to search the back. Had to manually override like usual...but no hassles...rock on!

I went to Best Buy today after work and I didn't see this "RED" magazine. It was no big loss because they didnt have the game I wanted (Ninja Gaiden Black). Strangely enough, they had the game guide.

Some BB put their newest games up front near the registers. I am telling you because it seems odd that they dont have or sold out of Ninja Gaiden Black.
 
Used the coupon again, this time on Trauma Center... same cashier as yesterday, she called the same manager over again, told her "the coupon still isn't ringing up, so I need an override" and bam, easy as pie, Trauma Center for 19.99.

I mean, damn, there are people in the DS forum who are going to EB / Gamestop and getting these games for full price, and I feel bad for them =/ I also figure that if TRU isn't doing Buy 2 get 1 free on DS games, that if I buy 3, save $10 on each one, it's technically the same deal.

Just to note, all four times I have used the coupon, it has been a copy of the scan in this thread.
 
let those people buy it for full price. people that post on official ds forums are probably 12 year old brats that have rich parents. screw them.

My $5 off any PS2/PSP game worked when I printed it out. It even had printer streaks on it, and it didn't scan, but she typed it in and it worked. Yay! :D
 
I'm probably going to pick up DoS with either Game Bucks from McDonald's or the $10 off coupon. Does anybody know if you can combine the two? I doubt it... but it's worth a shot. :D
 
I just got back in from the Best Buy in Sterling, VA. I used a color-printed coupon for Half-Life 2 ($29.99). The cashier scanned it in, but the 10 bucks didn't come off. She hit a couple keys on the keyboard and the 10 bucks came off. Fab. I was tempted to try and use another coupon also, but was perfectly happy with HL2 for 20 bones.

Can't combine coupons if they're of different types.

GGC's are one type of coupon, this is a different one, and BB Bucks are a different type.

You can combine RZ certs with any coupon, though combining coupons isn't allowed, in the legal text of the coupon. Some cashiers will let coupons be combined, and it's YMMV at that point.

half life 2 is 19.99 this week at frys electronics if u have one near ur area. if not then good buy

Well you could try another time with a different clerk or you could just use the coupon at Circuit City.
 
Got shot down for the first time today tryin to use the coupon. I tried picking up Trauma Center, but the cashier told me the original price of the game has to be over $29.99
 
My BB didn't have the coupons, so just used GGCs to grab both Castlevania and Trama Center. Castlevania is an amazing game! I have yet to try out Trama Center.
 
I just used printed copies on Castlevania and Trauma Center. Had to have the manager manually do it. I look forward to trying Trauma Center, but really, Castlevania's the best game on the DS. Portable game of the year, I'm calling it now.

Got Castlevania for $19.99 b/c the chick at the register screwed up using the coupon, she didn't care though, nice girl :). So it was $14.99 after my reward zone coupon. Not a bad deal at all, now I gotta try and use one on Meteos. Thanks OP!
 
First they claimed that the game has to be over $29.99, so when i try to use it with castlevania and the manager came over to overwrite, he refued becasue it is a photocopy.

There was no doubt in my mind that it would end up portable game of the year as soon as I heard it was announced. I love Castlevania and this one is phenomenal.

Though Final Fantasy IV, Gunstar Super Heroes, and Metal Slug 1 (all on GBA) should also be pretty damn good.
 
i just beat the ds castlevania. i've beaten aria of sorrow and symphony, i am actually not impressed with the ds one. the anime style really kills the mood. and other than a few weapons, all the rest suck.

I haven't gotten Castlevania yet, but my Portable game of the year at the moment has to be Meteos, maybe Avance Wars DS could slide in, and one other that isn't coming to mind

I just got the RED magazine premiere issue that someone posted a picture of earlier and there is no coupon in it. I checked every page and there's no coupon! I'm so mad! :bomb:

EDIT: I just found a ripped page. Some jackass ripped out the page with the coupon and left the magazine there.
