20% General Merchandise @ Meijers (Consoles Includes)

broboore

CAGiversary!
I had a message on my voicemail when I got home.

20% all general merch at Meijers on Monday July 23rd only.

This part taken from SD:

If you use Meijer CC at Meijer stores you get 20% off General Merhcandise and Apparel. This is good on video game systems and electronics!

If you dont have a Meijer CC, you get 10% off your first purchase.

Here are some notable deals without tax(the prices in parentheses are if you use extra 10%):

PS3- $400 ($360!)
Wii- $200 ($180)
Nintendo DS- $104 ($94)
iPod 30 gb- $200 ($180)
Xbox Elite- $384 ($346)
Xbox Prem.- $320 ($288)
PS3/360 games- $48
Wii games- $40
This is certainly a great deal...I couldn't wait, as my local meijer only had 1 PS3 left, so I hurried over at midnight, applied (15% off for applying) for the mejier credit card, was accepted (10% off first purchase with card) and applied the 20% off that was advertised as monday only. So that's 45% (in theory) off. Everything was fine until cashier couldn't override something and there was no manager on duty, so after a lot of waiting, I get to go back tomorrow and get my brand new 60GB PS3 for less than $300 after tax. I'm excited!! Thanks OP!
So if you first apply for the card you get another 15% off?!?! Wow, I am going over there tomorrow if this is true.

15% off????? I don't know what the hell you are talking about, pretty sure nothing like that exists. Also, it won't be that cheap. You are not getting 45% off the 499.99 tag. You are getting a max 20% so then down to 399.99 and then maybe 15%(pretty sure no such thing exists, but could be wrong, please let me know) so 339.99 and then 10% off, so 306.99+tax. And more than likely they are going to give you the 10% off first because that is a coupon that needs to be scanned right away.
Sorry to shatter your hopes and dreams.

I just got back at 12:30 from one of my local Meijer and since technically the 20% off isn't effective until 6AM, they couldn't punch it in. However, the store director just came up since he couldn't override it they just gave me the 20% off in cash back.

Ended up being (476.99-95.40) 381.59 after taxes. Not bad price for a PS3. Prolly gonna check at another store tomorrow and see if they have any Wiis. Also might try to get a copy of Nascar 08 tomorrow at midnight and see if the register will still give me the 20% off.
Me too! Only they had another 15% discount on top of the 20% and 10% and I don't remember what that was for (15% just for applying at 10% off the first purchase?)

Got my 360 and Burnout for like $270 out the door. Good stuff. Good luck CAGs! :)
Yeah, I remembered that same deal. I already had a PS3 and 360 at the time, but I was able to get Ratchet & Clank: SM on PSP for $28 and a 2nd SIXAXIS controller for $34. That was still a great deal to me. :) Yeah, that sale was too awesome.
15% off????? I don't know what the hell you are talking about, pretty sure nothing like that exists.
Yep, there's a sign that says "get 15% off your purchase today for applying" along with a free 12 pack of coke and a beach towel. So I got the 15% for applying (I got a coupon) along with 20% off for today only sale along with 10% off first purchase. The other Meijer across town was not giving the 15% for signing up so this is certainly YMMV, for the extra 15% anyway.

I gotta go to work but I'll let you know what my final total is when I get back.

Naturally, this week I move from Michigan (where the deal is happening) to right near Indianapolis (where it is not happening). I want a PSP!
The closest Meijer for you to end up at is the one at Exit 105 on I-69 (on Illinois Rd), the Meijer I usually go to. I was there last week, and they had one 60GB PS3, one Xbox 360 Elite, and two Xbox 360 Premiums. Next Meijer is off of Exit 111, on Lima Rd.
Closest to Indy with the sale is Anderson or Muncie. Both list the 20% off in their ads this week.

That 15% is definitely YMMV. I grabbed a PS3 this morning for about $386 after tax. Another 15% would have been sweet.

I don't think anyone mentioned (or I missed it) that you have to use a Meijers credit card in order to even get the 20% discount. Took me half an hour in store before I finally grabbed an ad and noticed that. They didn't have the sign up when I walked in.

Thanks OP for posting this.
Also, if they take the discounts in sequence it will be a %28 off instead of %30.

100 - %20 = 80
80 - %10 = 72
This person speaks the truth. The Coupons are done in sequence. Its 28% off.

These types of sales aren't very common, but I think you can count on about 4 of them per year?

And WOW @ the extra 15% off. That is definitely YMMV, I have never seen that before. Nicely Done! :)

Alright thanks man... Also just read my post from last night, was kind of tired didn't mean to sound like a jackass. Yeah and when you find out please post, so I can possibly go to the other stores and check it out. Now that you mention it, it seems like I remember seeing those signs before (just can't remember what GR Meijer or if it was in Midland).

Hopefully it is true so I can just complain to a store manager and they usually will help and give the extra 15% off.

I just got home from Meijer and they had two in the display cabinet despite having none yesterday (I guess they were in the back). I went ahead and applied for the card, got the discounts (and a free case of pop, lol) and it came out about $372! You guys should've seen the look on the cashier's face when the discounts were applied. She litterally kinda jerked in shock, lol. Man, I used to (well still do, really given the new 80GB model) really criticize the PS3 for being so darn expensive. And here I have just paid over $100 less for it than I did for my Elite.

Well this is one since of irony I can happily live with.

Picked mine up today, in Highland Mi, and the deal was !0% off for the first buy and then 20% off due to the sale today. Can anyone verify that I got all of the discounts or am I missing a 15% off deal for simply applying? I didn't see any signs stating that there was 15% off just for applying. Please help out so I know if I need to go back and get some more cash back. Thanks

I guess I got really lucky today.

Final price I paid for my brand new 60GB PS3 was 314.49 after tax.

So here's the deal with the 15% - I walked in and they had a table set up where you get 15% off JUST FOR APPLYING. They almost screwed me on that one, the cashier almost counted that as my 10% off for my first purchase, but a manager saved me. The other Meijer across town didn't have any table set up or anything, so it is definatly YMMV.

So, I got my 15% for applying, my 10% off for my first purchase and the 20% off for the one day only sale. Sadly my total didn't come in under 300, but instead it was still under 320 after tax, I think that's pretty sweet. The manager that helped me was shocked at the deal, so was the cashier. As I left he said "wow, that was a nice deal..." I just smiled and left before they stopped me!

So good luck to everyone and thanks again OP!

Oh yeah, this was in Kentucky, Lexington area...

I went back to Meijer today to get the additional 20% off. At least in my Meijers there is only a 10% applied to first purchase with Meijer credit card. Total was around $422 or so after tax, but this also included Motorstorm. I think I did all right. Especially since I was looking for a high-def dvd player as well.

Good Luck.

Yea the 15% off deal is definitely YMMV. I don't think there are any Meijers in the Grand Rapids, MI area that have that deal. I wish I was at school up in Midland, MI. They always had that table up for the past 10 months.

Picked up a PS3 today. My Meijer offered a free pizza for applying & a free 2-liter upon approval. (Well, the soda didn't come off, but I'm not going to complain about $.62.) Picked up the PS3, a baker's rack, a chair, & groceries for less than $500. The baker's rack was regularly $100 on sale for $80, and the chair was regularly $35 on sale for $25, so they were pretty good deals with the discounts off the sale price. Amazing that some Meijer are offering 15% off just for applying, I've never seen that at my local one. Most of the time I've seen the card advertised for a free 12-pack upon approval, but nothing for applying. Was going to pick up an extra controller, but they're only $35 at my local Wal-Mart. The only thing is I'm moving, so I probably won't get a chance to play it for about 2 weeks.

It all depends on your store because most weren't doing that because I asked when I applied at my local Allen Park, MI location and they weren't doing it so all I got was the 20% off and 10% for first purchase so mine was $381 after tax which is a little higher than I wanted to buy one for but it is well worth it because I know that a lot more PS2 games will be played on it then PS3 that is why I wanted the 60 Gig instead of the 80 Gig. Its way better then paying $500 for it.

Same thing with my local store I called on Sunday and they didn't have any and then I call when I got home from work they had two. Somebody bought one while I was applying for the card.
I live near Pontiac in Waterford, where are you? I haven't found them anywhere. I haven't been searching everyday, but I still haven't seen them when I do look.
Meijier in Bay City MI have them. There were 2 systems earlier today. I didn't even know about this deal (though I already have a wii anyway) or I may have jumped on something

yeah, wow, i just got back and i'm so excited. earlier, got a coupon grocery shopping for an additional $10 off on top of your normal 10% when you open an account and i was like what the hell, even more money since i was planning on buying it. well....turns out the cashier took it as an additional 10% on top of $10 haha. then, to top it off, she couldn't get it workin so instead of the staggered %'s off, she just took 110 off as a coupon. walked out with a new ps3 for $300 and then $10 cash cause they thought they forgot to give it to me....i was smiling so much, i feel bad for my former place of work hahahaa

Meijer in Flint, MI (Hill Rd.) had a PS3, several 360s, and PS2s, PSPs, and GCs out the wazoo. I resisted the shiny black console.

I got Resident Wiivil 4 and a Classic Controller for $42 and change out the door. I didn't see any consoles besides DS Lites and GBA SPs. I really wanted to find a good deal on a PS3. Oh well.

My mom and I got denied for the credit card (I have no credit history- 2 free 12 packs of pop though) so I had my aunt do it after she got off work. I only wanted the console, but I thought I should pick up resistance too while she was down there, but I was too late for the extra 10% off so Resistance was 20% only. All together with tax, it was $429. Awesome deal, and I have to say that Blu-Ray looks AMAZING! Only problems with the PS3 is that I had to pay for the component cables and the damn thing is like a fingerprint magnet!

Hmm, I'm tempted to go down to Indy to take advantage of it, lol.

There were no PS3 consoles at the Meijer I went to on Monday. All I got was a PS3 Blu-ray/DVD remote, but oh well. I wanted Hot Shots Tennis, but it wasn't there.
I want to know if it's today, and what is Indy? Indiana?
I'm in Illinois...
Indy=Indianapolis

I actually did the deal today in Indy - got the 20% off plus 10% for opening an account. We called 2 Meijers last night to check the inventory status of the PS3 in Noblesville and Carmel. Noblesville said they had 2 in stock and none in Carmel. When we stopped in Noblesville this morning, they didn't have any, but there were quite a few PSPs in stock. Went ahead and stopped at the Carmel Meijer since its like a block from where I work. I got the last PS3 in stock. Didn't get a chance to check to see what other systems were available since I was running a little behind.

Picked up a 60GB this week for $360 + tax. For applying for their card, I got coupons for a free rotisserie chicken (lol) and a 12-pack of name-brand soda or water. The lady from electronics said I was also supposed to get a free t-shirt, but they were out. So, I got a 2nd coupon for another 12-pack.

Thanks, OP!!

So. Any ideas when this will run again? I know they do those coupons every now and again but anyone have a better clue than me?

So today Meijer had a 15% off all gerneral items for Senior Citizens, so I took my grandmother up there with me. They let me pay for the purchases with my new meijer creditcard, so I got another 10% off, plus $10 dollars off because of a another coupon they gave me.

So in the end I got:
60 gig ps3
Resistance:FOM
Virtua Fighter 5
SixAxis Controller

all for $530, and that included tax

not a bad deal at all

they have the 15% or 20% off about every month or so.. the 20 occurs about 2 or 3x a year and the 15% happens the rest of the time...

the good thing about the 15 or 20% off days is that coupons and price matching can be stacked on top of that. (at least, i've never had a problem with it.)
