2001: A Last Movie You Saw Odyssey
I just saw Waiting, the new film with Ryan Reynolds.

It's pretty decent. If you aren't a fan of raunchy low brow humor you will hate it, but if you are a fan you will love it.

For example, the gag that runs throughout the movie, and its deepest metaphor is about a game in which guys get other guys to look at their dick or balls, call them a fag, and then kick them in the ass.
I want to see this when is it suppose to actually come out nationwide?

I have seen the trailer a few times I think this will be pretty funny because I enjoy low brow humor.
The suckfest known as Flight Plan. (Only good thing is that I saw it for free because I got free pass for it.) It is like watching Panic Room (the last Jodie Foster movie to come out) on an airplane.
The trailer wasn't lying.;)

I watched Poolhall Junkies last night. Hey, it's Rounders... but with pool instead of Poker... and shit actors instead of good ones... and laughably bad dialogue. Yeah, I didn't like it.

Not even Walken could save that movie. Of course, he seems to take every shitty role that comes his way.

Soooo, it was basically The Color of Money w/o the high drama.

Shaun of the Dead
-Not bad for a British zombie/comedy flick.

The Terminal
-Not unlike Cast Away but with an Airport and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Lord of War....it was meh, half of it was fun, the rest seemed to be made by hippies "guns are bad" stuff, which is nothing new..same old propoganda crap. Predictable...meh...

watched the shining the other night. awesome...freaky movie with some incredible visuals.
clockwork orange this morning. interesting take on sex, violence, and society.
studying up on kubrick this week.

paths of glory...nice choice zman. watched some clips in film history...need to check that one out soon. i liked what i saw of kirk douglas's performance.

Damn, I've only watched one movie (Ginger Snaps a week(!) ago) since this thread was started. I might have to do something about that tonight ...

The Merchant of Venice

A fine Shakespeare film, with a great performance from Pacino.

Ah, always nice to see someone watching the Master's works. And definitely check out Paths of Glory, I think it probably edges out the Shining and Clockwork as Kubrick's third best film (trailing 2001 and Dr. Strangelove). Bought it during the DDD B2G1 sale, just came today, it's the first Kubrick film I own, but I plan on adding many more during the DDD 20% sale.

Crash (2004)

It was a good movie, but I don't see what all the fuss was about. In comparison to most of the crap out there today, it's great, but in general, it's no masterpiece, heh.

I Fidanzati

Very good film filled with genuine emotion, but I don't think that it did much to engage the viewer, unfortunately.

Boogie Nights

Fantastic film, an outstanding ensemble cast and a great, breezy mix of comedy and drama, rather reminiscent of Pulp Fiction or GoodFellas at times. Loved it.

Forbidden Games

Well done drama about children growing up amidst the war. Interesting that the war is only a catalyst, as the rest of the film has almost nothing to do with the war itself, at least for the children.
"Jackie Chan's Who Am I". One of the last great JC films before they started to get boring.
I only watch one scene from that movie: the evo chase.

I watched the Evil Dead Trilogy Sunday and Monday. I didn't like Evil Dead (3/10), just too much horror for my tastes, though there were some funny scenes with the trees attempting to rapes the girl and some of the over the top horror scenes. I enjoyed Evil Dead 2 since it took the more humorous route (8/10) and lead right into my favorite, Army of Darkness (9/10).
