I wish it was like that with all games but like you said, it won't apply to all games. ATV Offroad Fury 2 is $39.99 new on the site but only gets $6 trade in credit. Whirl Tour is $45.99 new on the site but only gets $8.50 credit.

^

Nah.

They have their own upc on the front of a game so it wouldn't fly anyway.

I know that if you are really lucky, you can trade in a sealed game for full credit but don't count on it.

Quick question here guys

What happened to Soccer Slam and Splashdown .. did those go down or do they still fetch over 20? can anyone confirm

did the price of gogo hypergrind change?

i went to fye today and they were selling my used copy i traded in for 14.99

The thing that I'm most worried about my FYE is them not accepting the game. I mean, most of my games are mint, they accept those, but ones from EBGames.com or stuff like that usually aren't in the greatest condition which really sucks for me, because when I get them, I can only return them into my EB for store credit, not a full refund. I guess I'll try to find cheap games in great condition in store from now on, but I donno. I mean, 120$ just isn't enough for me quite yet.... Once I get in the thousands I'd say that'd be uber.

That's why I am concered about ordering games from EBGames.com for trade in as well. If they don't accept the games, you are stuck with them. And since there is no way to see the game ahead of time, it makes it more difficult. For the most part, when I buy stuff specifically to trade into FYE, I try to buy it new so I know it will be accepted.

Same, but the thing is, I can't find any place to get them new so that I can make more then a 10$ profit, which IMO is just a waste at that point, but I guess I just have to look around.

I went to FYE today.

The trade-in credit for Black and Bruised (GameCube) dropped to $6.

What am I going to do with this crappy game? :?

I got scrwed with Pro Racer for xbox too since it didnt ring up on their system. Luckily gamestop was able to refund me the $$$ since it is used

I was gonna go out today and get a copy of Black & Bruised along with Battle Engine to get me a Star Wars Trilogy box. Can anyone else confirm that B&B went down indeed?

i tried splashdown over 2 months ago and it went down to $8 :(

Wow so the only game I have left to do is Battle Engine. That is if it's true that B&B went down. I already tried Disaster Report and Mission and they had too many in stock. That sucks because I really wanted to get the Star Wars box set and trade it along with KOF MI for a new copy of suikoden II. I guess I am gonna have to pay more than I expected. :(

Man I'd be happy to sell my last game to FYE, add a few bucks and snatch that trilogy box from you. Unfortunately I don't have enough time to wait for shipping. I promised to ship the stuff on Monday, the guy already shipped my sealed copy of suikoden II today.

Did you notice how many copies they had of those games already or did they say how many is the most they would take? I thought it might be 3 but I'm not sure.

March Madness 2002 (PS2) - $6, it's $0.99 new at EB (if you can somehow find it) so it's an easy way to profit $5

Summer 2002 Jampack - $1

Triple Play 2002 (Xbox) - $1, didn't trade it in, I was hoping for $4.50 - $6.

To answer your question about how many they can keep in stock. Some seem to be store specific. Most of the stores nationwide keep 2-3 copies. The stores around me only keep two used copies. If they have NONE new, then they might take a third one. I know one store will take up to like 6 but it's very far from me. This one is a big YMMV

A little side note. It would seem that none of the EB's around me have Battle Engine Aquila, and only one gamestop has it within 10 miles and that one has a printed half an insert. GameCrazy wants like 40 dollars used for this game. It's almost the same with Lotus Challenge. Those seem to be pretty rare

If nobody did shadow ops yet. I found that the best way to do it is get it from BB with GGC. It comes out to 16 dollars including tax. And you know the condition wont be a problem here. Other stores have it for like 17 bucks used.

Also if you want cash for your games. I suggest you go to yellowpages and find a Strawberries. All strawberries in my disctrict gives cash for games.

Good luck .. I know mine ran out

EDIT: If anyone knows any other games that snag $18 and up please post

Just looked around Wherehouse website for some games. Here are a few things I found:

TransWorld SURF: Next Wave $27
Platform: GameCube
http://www.wherehouse.com/games/sell-product-detail.jsp?id=2211653

Don't know much about this game, it says 20 at gamestops website. EB website didn't come up with any resulsts. If you can find this for cheap that will be great.

----------------

Gotcha Force $17
Platform: GameCube
http://www.wherehouse.com/games/sell-product-detail.jsp?id=2319013

This comes in the Costco 3pack games for $30 might be worth it if you wanted the other two games that comes in the pack

-----------------

A few other things to keep in mind:
- Mission: Impossible -- Operation Surma fetches $17 for GC version. Couldn't find it for cheap but if you already have it, this is more than what you get at GS, GC, or EB.

Need for Speed: Underground seems to be $26 for PS2 and $24 for GC and XBOX. Sears had this for $20 and I snagged a copy. I've heard that there is gonna be a universal drop for this by next month.

Thanks for the info about the # of games they stock. I guess I should go to some other FYE stores then since I don't want to take the shrinkwrap off those games just to have them not be accepted.

You're very welcome. I just found some more cheap ass games that sell for over $20. I called FYE and they confirmed the prices. I am gonna go out today and try to trade them in. If everything goes well .. you guys will have more games to abuse.

Also if anyone wants to confirm a price or what not, LMK .. I know two FYE stores that will give me prices over the phone and even check the UPC to confirm :)

Is it just me or do Dreamcast games not come up on wherehouse.com. I'm trying to trade in my system and about 11 games with it. Anyone know how much it would fetch at FYE? I plan on calling or dropping by sometime this week but if you could help that'd be cool.

Black and Bruised is down to $6? Ouch.

Today I went in to trade in "Freestyle Street Soccer", and got the ol' "It says Blockbuster on the front so we won't take it" response. . .

Lucky for me I have another couple FYE store that will take it in my city. Earlier this week, I got $17 in store credit for it (XBox version).

Steve A.

Stuff I traded in
Max payne 2 14
Ape escape 2 8.50

Stuff I didn't
Wild arms 3 6.50
Espn NFL 2k4 2

Here's one great way to go from TRU this week to FYE...

TRU is having the 50% Green Tags sale PLUS the BOGO sale...

If your TRU is like mine... there will be plenty of Motor Trend Lotus Challenges left over for the Xbox.

After the 50% discount...

Motor Trend comes to 12.49
add another on for 12.49...
then get your third for free.

Thats's about $25 for three copies...

FYE is taking them for $27.00...
that's $81.00 FYE credit....

respectfully... dont be an asshat and exchange more than one at once... at the same FYE... spread it out over time... or over stores... and be sure to mix it up with some other 50% off and BOGO favorites at TRU like...

Sneakers (Xbox TRU Exclusive)
sells for $9.99 at TRU and trades for 27.00

and...
MX Superfly for XBX
sells at TRU for 9.99 - fetches 24.00 at FYE.

Enjoy it!

I was wondering about Motor Trend at TRU since it was green tagged for $24.98 but the shelf tag said $49.99. I didn't get it because I thought it was $24.98 after the discount. Thanks for explaining it, since it is $12.49 after the discount, I guess I'll go back tomorrow and pick up 3 copies.
Motor Trend is regularly 49.99 at TRU, and it's 24.98 after discount.
my receipts say you're wrong... or this is now YMMv.

Hell, I hope that you're right.

I scanned them on Saturday, and it came up as regularly 49.99, and with 50% is came to 24.98.

Definately try again...

there are so many copies of the game that no one botheres changing the $49.99 tag on them.... they scanned in at "PROMO $24.98" meaning the price with the promo was half that... sure enough... it was and i ended up with 3 for $25.00..... using BOGO too...

Definately try again... in fact... just ask for three... and have them RUNG UP... no price checked... the the totaling sytem work its magic.

tubtub said last week on the Post Your Own Deals board that Motor Trend was due for a price drop on Monday.

Now I'm gonna have to get that game and MX Superfly!!

One heads up for everyone looking to FYE to dump Freestyle Street Soccer (XBX and GC from Blockbuster Exclusive) and Sneakers (XBX TRU Exclusive)... is that they are in the system... but ring up under different names.... that explains why if you called to ask for a trade-in price on either.... they wouldn find them in the system... since they exist at FYE as...

Sneakers rings up as "Nezmix"
and Freestlye Strees Soccer rings up as "Urban Freestyle"

and yes... the wherehouse prices are in effect!

Just dont be surprised if they reject the game because its says blockbuster exclusive, getting them to take it in the first place is the hard part

When getting Motor Trend at TRU, I noticed a display case for Transworld Surf for Gamecube in the glass case. I asked how much it was and was told it was sold out (which I guess is why all they had was those empty display cases in the case) but he said he thought it was $30 or $40. If it was $30 and part of the green dot sale, it would be $15 so 3 copies would be $30 plus tax and I think it was mentioned earlier in this thread it gets $27 at FYE. I guess it's possible it was even less than that since it's an old game.

funny... i cant remember EVER seeing this on the shelf...

but since i can say that all of my wherehouse prices have been in effect at FYE... i'd bet on it.... go for $27!

check it ----> http://www.wherehouse.com/games/sell-product-detail.jsp?id=2211653

I am the one who mentioned transworld. The one at tru is not the one that fetches $27. You are looking for the sequel Next Wave

For the last sentence of my last post, I meant it might be less than $15 at TRU since the game is old, I should have made that more clear.

The one at Toys R Us is Next Wave, since after looking at the above link on Wherehouse, the box is identical.

Bought Motor Trend last night at TRU. It dropped to $24xx and then 50% because it's a green tag item.

No Sneakers to be found though, I guess that means people are actually buying it.

No sneakers or MX superfly in my area either. All the early xmas shoppers see a 10 dollar game and buy that crap

BTW, I found another great game to trade in. V-Rally 3 is 14.99 new or 12.99 used at GS and fetches $27 at FYE. Made 100 bucks with this game yesterday.
