2007 NFL Draft Thread (Including CAG Mock Draft - NOW LIVE!!)
Yeah, good for him (I guess?). Anyone wanna vBookie him tearing something in his leg? :p
He's a cheap Timmy Chang immitation, the kid's like 5'10 165? Apparently he pulled back because a crap load of scouts told him to hit the weights.

More like 6'2 - 190... However, should he stay healthy and productive he likely moves from a 2nd round pick to 1st round in 2008. I think this year's QB class has more options for team's than next year's will so his stock will go up. I think Brohm was thinking the same thing.

To pick up the slack, here is what I predicted on 9-7:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2175721&postcount=197

After looking through everything, here's what my conclusions were:
- I went 152-104 in my picks.
- I got four team's records exactly, whereas the Madden simulation got 6, Yahoo got 3 and Fanbay got 2.
- I correctly predicted Chicago, SD, Indy and Seattle winning their divisions.
- I correctly predicted half the playoff teams
- I got one team out of four correct in the Championship games

Not too terribly bad. I predicted at a 60% clip. My last five weeks were 8-8, 9-7 and 7-9, messing up my average. I'm most embarrased about Miami and New Orleans, as are most people who predicted.

Of the playoff picks I made, I'm 7-1. Hopefully 10-1 after Colts beat the Saints.

Already taken.

Ah shit, and Smarzdija is gone too, gimme a sec to think about this pick.
No more football for Samardizja

This dude is quite possibly one of the biggest morons of all time. srsly, A clear cut, 1st rounder who'd be making VERY good money to begin with and eventually a TON more....Football is just much easier to make it in. Baseball takes way too long and really doesnt have the benefits football does for a while (My dad was scouted and offered contracts for several Major League teams out of high school, so I know something about this stuff). Jeez though, i'm shocked.

From what I've heard, it's a good choice because his stock was falling quickly in the draft because more impressive guys like Jarrett and Ginn were jumping into the draft.

I understand that. He's probably behind Ginn, Johnson, Jarrett and Rice. Still, top 5 or so WR isnt bad. He'd end up with a decent team probably.

The book on Jarrett and Ginn isn't that great. Jarrett has a poor ability to stay healthy and Ginn isn't that big. Jeff was ranked very closely behind them and didn't have those flags.

... wow I've waited like 2 days for KC's pick so I can finally get the Philly-Birds some love, but I guess Im going to have to continue to wait.........

Tell me about it, I didn't think it would take this long for me to make 2 out of 3 picks.

I think the draft goes
27. New Orleans
28. AFC loser
29. Baltimore
30. San Diego
31. Super Bowl loser
32. Super Bowl winner

or

27. AFC loser
28. Chicago
29. Baltimore
30. San Diego
31. Super Bowl loser
32. Super Bowl winner

depending on the NFC Championship game

With the 25th pick in the first round of the CAG NFL Mock Draft, the New England Patriots select Michael Griffin, Safety from the University of Texas. Sorry to jsk414 especially b/c i bet he had him in mind :D

Draft order is accurate as of right now. Record takes priority up to getting knocked out of the playoffs. If you're knocked out in the same round, then the better record goes latest.

The Super Bowl teams pick last, other than that it's record with reverse strength of schedule as the 1st tiebreaker, followed by coin flip. Besides the Super Bowl teams, the playoffs play no part in determining draft order.

(This is my home team) Ok. Michael Griffen stolen from me. The eagles only need is safety people say Linebacker but they are wrong. Gocong is the SAM of the future, Gaither will be our MIKE, and I think they will give McCoy some more time at WILL, he was a second round choice himself, just 2 years ago and because of this the eagles won't waste a first rounder on linebackers. Their WR's are very solid, especially (and hopefully) when they resign stallworth. Both lines great, except more depth maybe at DE. In this situation I would see the eagles trading out of the first, picking up a second and a third or fourth. And selecting Brandon Merriweather. But cause We cannot trade picks in this trade I will make the pick for simplicity.

THE PHILADELPHIA EAGLES SELECT:

Brandon Merriweather Safety : THE U (If you think this pick is a reach read the above paragraph, this is techniqually a second round pick :) )

Touche... I did have him in mind. And I was very dissapointed. If you didnt pick him I wouldnt have had to write a paragraph. Ha... Good pick tho, I like it for New England, but in April I really want to see Griffen in Midnight-Green
We always get screwed with people from the U :/
We could go Eric Weddle... Utah... if you'd prefer? Ha but for this draft its Merriweather.
We could go Eric Weddle... Utah... if you'd prefer? Ha but for this draft its Merriweather.
Merri isnt bad, but it's a helluva reach for us. Weddle is even bigger. Both are mid 2nds. NFL Draft Countdown has us getting Griffin, which would be awesome. They have Poz goin right after him too. I dont see us passing on Poz. 2nd round they have us getting Stanton which wouldnt be bad for the future. I still see them trading up or down.
I would have gone after Buster Davis to be the protege to Trotter
If we take another FSU player, i'll abandon ship.
I would have gone after Buster Davis to be the protege to Trotter
Omar Gaither?
Merri isnt bad, but it's a helluva reach for us. I still see them trading up or down.
Exactly I said in my description they would trade out of the first.
or i could see them reaching up for Jared Gaither or Joe Staley (Thomas and Runyan are aging)
... Um Winston Justice? He will be at LT And heremans will replace Runyan. And Bigman Max-Jean-Giles will step in for heremans at LG. Jamal Jackson is a solid Center, and Shawn Andrews is prolly a top 3 NFL Guard already, hes only 24 and is no where near reached his potential.

They only need a Safety and they wouldn't have really need that if Michael Lewis was locked up. I still really think he is a Probowl-caliber

The website I was using gave bad information, and it was corroberated by the nfl.com site. I checked last year's draft and you're correct.

Draft order is being corrected.

No more picks until the results of today's games are known. We don't have to wait until the SB is over, but today could mess up everything from here on depending on result.

Cool, if the Bears win I'll make the Saints pick, otherwise after the AFC championship game the losing team is on the clock.
