I think Calvin is emerging as the go to guy for Detroit.. Roy is always going to be there but his numbers will fluctuate.. I normally stay far away from anything Denver except QBs because Shanahan loves to screw fantasy football all up.. Marshall's numbers will fluctuate as well with the emergence of Eddie Royal.. not nearly as much as Roy Williams
Marshall is being touted as the next Owens. I agree that Shanahan likes being a fantasy tease, but it would be in his best interest to abuse the nuts out of Marshall.

Culpepper's game was mobility, throwing on the run, giving his receivers time to get open. He's about as mobile as Drew Bledsoe with that knee, he's done. He's not a pocket passer, he can't read defenses. And everyone knows it.

wrong... in 5 (2000-2004) seasons in Minnesota.. 4 times he threw for over 3,000 yds (2004 - 4,717), never rushed for over 610 yds in a season...

what do you guys think.

delhomme against minnesota or big ben against philly? steve smith is back this week and neither team has secondaries in the top 15.

I'd use Jake. Doesn't Ben have a messed up shoulder? He didn't do much against a weak Browns Secondary last week.

Dafoomie is right. Culpepper was a beast when he had mobility. He would use his legs to scramble around and give his WR's time to get open. Without that Culpepper isn't much of anything.

Also actually rushing for 610 yards is pretty good as well.

yeah bens shoulder is hurt, keep in mind though it was terrible weather that game.

he might have escapability but he wasn't that mobile.. a mobile qb that relies on his legs doesn't throw for the yds and tds that Culpepper does...

Big Ben.. it's just a bruised shoulder and minnesota's defense > philly's defense.

When I think of escapability I think of Romo and Favre. Culpepper had some serious speed for a QB and a guy of his size.

Who fits your bill of being a mobile QB then? The only person that I can think of from your logic is Vick.

when I hear a scrambling QB I think of Vick or Young? those guys live and die on their legs.. No QB that relies on their legs could ever throw over 4,700 yds in a season..

Big Ben has escapability.. he is a pocket passer but he has a knack for escaping sacks...

Culpepper used his mobility to buy time for the secondary to break down. His biggest asset was always his athleticism.

He's the 4th QB in history to rush for 2300 yards in 4 years, he has the 4th best QB career rushing average in history, and he has the 5th most rushing TD's by a QB in a season. So yes, I'd say his mobility was a big part of his game. He doesn't have it anymore, he's done. He's not a guy that can stand in the pocket and read defenses, he never was.

There is a reason why the Steelers took Byron Leftwich over him, theres a reason why there are a million scrub QB's in the league and he's not. The whole league knows he's done.

The reason the Steelers took Leftwich was because Culpepper rejected the Steelers offer because he wanted a shot at becoming the starter..

So who else is happy that the joke of a player named LDT career looks to be over. He cant stay healthy to save his live and he hasnt looked anywhere near at good as he did is 06.

Actually to be honesty. Why is it that all of LDT back up look way more explosive then he does? Sproiles (sp) Turner...both looked better then he does.

Also he is 29 years old and thats about when RB backs starts to decline and I think he will decline so fast it will make the leagues head spin. I give him 2 more years sucking it up on the Chargers before they try to deal him and he goes the way of Emmit Smith on a crappy team then retires.

You looked to jumped the gun here just a bit.. it's only 2 games into the season..give him some benefit of the doubt until it is a definite that he is done.. no Larry Johnson might be a different story.. that is all performance.. but it's tough to figure out if the OL is really bad or LJ can't get through the gaps quick enough..

I'd think that he would retire before being traded being that he has stated that he is going to retire when his contract ends after the 2011 season. I doubt he would play for another team.

I dont think I did. But granted I am biased beacuse I hate the guy so much.

But I have seen this for a while now. Even when LDT was considered the greatest of all time :)roll:) there were certain teams that could shut him down. I always felt that he was one of the few people that if you treated him like just another running back you could not only just stop him but make him cry like he always does.

Plus...his own back ups of recent years just look so much better than he does. And the fact that we see his back up as equally as we see him is a growing problem.

By the way I just saw a Brady Quinn ad? I forget he was even in the league. What happened with that all deal?

LT has bad games just like everyone else.. even Walter Payton had bad games... bad stretches even.. it's not anywhere near the level of Jamal Lewis.. where he runs pretty well on everyone but the Steelers..

lets do fantasy again.

flex wr/rb, should i start ryan grant or bryant johnson?

i have johnson in the spot right now, hes going up against detroit and i like the match up, especially after the way JT played last week. grant has a nagging hammy and has a tougher d to go up against in dallas.

Go with Johnson. The Cowboys don't give more then 65 yards on the ground to one back usually. That and Grant isn't that good IMO.

And the fact that the Packers are probably going to pass the crap out of the football.

I'm debating on whether to start Antonio Gates or Tony Scheffler...I just know Gates is going to have a huge game the moment I switch him out.

I've got to choose two of these three backs to start this week: Michael Turner, Frank Gore, and Clinton Portis. I'm leaning towards Gore and Turner b/c they're playing crappy defenses in Detroit and KC.

In both my leagues I have Big Ben at QB but this shoulder thing in scaring me off. In on league I have McNabb as a backup and in the other I have Brett Favre and Trent Edwards as backups.

O yea go with Turner. Oakland rushed for like 300 yards against KC last week.

Rant on

Seriously when will this end? When can I got through a single day without 5 hours be devoted to Farve and Rodgers. I just hate how they have to artificiality create all of these stories about him. I got it...he is a hall o fame lenged (a guy who I used to respect) but has a human he is a complete tool.

fuck Farve. There is nothing there. He cried for 3 years then Green Bay actually grew some balls and said fuck off Brett your not going to hijack this team anymore then he went to a team that no one even cares about. And now he is acting like a completely pussy saying things like "oh when Rodgers has 18 great seson then he can call me." The guy just started his career be a man and wish him luck.

If you are going to report, report on how good Rodgers is doing, report on how he is managing games. But I really dont think anyone out side Jets fans give a flying fuck what happens to Brett.

Rant off.

Alright lets see here for FF. I am still really iffy on having Wes Welker or Roy Williams. I am have been trying to shop Williams and Harrison as a package deal for a Hine Ward level WR but havent got any bites.

Wes is going against the phins who suck in all reguards Roy is going against the 49ers but he is on the Lions. And you can never be sure what the hell is going on with the Lions.

I didnt get to draft for myself and I really got screwed in WRs.

As for RB I have Matt Forte who is going to get a lot of touches today but I also have Willi Parker and Bradon Jacobs.

Should I starte Willi Parker or Matt Forte? Parker seems obvious but he is going against a good defense.
For FF, Sproles or LT?

Micheal Bush or Darren Mcfadden?
Bush and Sproles.

Darren is hurt so I think he will get limited touches this early in the season they are not going to want to lose him.

Yuck, the one early game I'm stuck with is KC - ATL... It looks like this game is so pathetic CBS isn't wasting a HD signal on it unless it kicks in once the game starts.

That was a bullshit call against NE.

You can now sack a qb without actually tackling him? Just holding his waist is enough to warrant a sack?

Thats going a little to far in the safety book in my opinion, are we not actually playing football anymore? Maybe they should just go to 2 hand touch and call it a day.

Bullshit call... If thats a sack, the Giants don't win the Superbowl.

Yeah. That was a complete crap ass call.

Yeah, I guess Matt Cassell isnt as good as we hoped he was going to be.

He is not even looking like a fill in guy....looks more like a Tarvis Jackson. He needs to stop trying to get the ball to Gafney and go to welker and Moss more. Then need to run some plays for their actually play makers.

Good thing I am a titans fan first and a pats fan 2nd. At least the Titans are kicking ass.

EDIT: But its not even the offense really its the fucking defense. Man is it playing bad....why cant they figure out the fucking dive play? Its just a draw? Man I dont get it.
Man, whoever has Ronnie Brown on their fantasy team is whoopin' ass today.
Problem is I bet you 90% of the people didnt play him.

I wish I wouldnt have started Wes Welker....really should have went with Roy Williams.

Beautiful performance by the Fins!

Garbage roughing the passer call on Vonnie Holliday by the way. That hit was clean. The NFL is getting ridiculous with how much they protect quarterbacks.

Yeah that very thing cost the Pats a TD in the first QRT.

Damn cassell sucks ass.

Well, though it sucks that my team NE is not looking hot I am not that much of a douche bag to be excited for having a mix up at the top. It will make this season really interesting.

By the way.....Minny defense is fucking raping Carolina...they have like 6 sacks right now.

Damn 2 OT games at the same time?

Sweeeeet! I hope the G-men fucking lose for not handing the ball to Brandon Jacobs more. He is killing me.
