Why? You have no official link to the team. You should be more ashamed about Detroit in general than a fucking sports team.
No official link? So the only true fans are the people who work directly for the Lions? Cmon now dude. I guess being born in the city, growing up and supporting a team for 20+ years does not give me a link. Detroit in general is fine. Please visit and see for yourself.
And there we go... Slaton just put the nail in our coffin....
I love me that Slaton.

Cowboys just look awful...I can't take Romo ever seriously (he and Brees) until they win meaningful game.

Packers didn't lose, and the Cowboys are now down 27-3 headed into halftime. I'm happy. But fuck, this is my first Sunday with an HD receiver and DVR, so I'd be enjoying watching the games even if they were all 55-0. Not that I even got to see the Packers game, as usual. Sunday Ticket it is for me next season.

I just hope the Chargers beat the Broncos. The whole division is an embarrassment, but watching the "NFL Replay" edition of SD/Denver game 1 from September reinforced the point that San Diego shouldn't even be in the position of having to win today.
Jurevicious not being healthy really hurt them. That said, Lewis had nothing to do with Edwards having a bad bad case of butterfingers. When people don't fear your recievers, they have no problem sticking eight in the box and punishing the QB. You can't play action pass when people don't think your recievers are going to catch the ball.
And Stallworth was out for a good portion of the season, as well.

You can't blame Lewis' poor performance solely on injuries and bad play by receivers. He's supposed to be the anchor for this offense, but he's not that good anymore. Whoever is the coach for next year needs to turn this into a two back system since Lewis will not cut it anymore. Just looking at last year, he averaged a yard per rush more than he did this year and had four 100+ yard rushing games and two more that were close (90+), but he was nowhere close to that at any point this year. He's just not the same player that he was last year or even a few years ago at his peak in Baltimore.
I thought he was only averaging like 3.3 yds a carry. Weird.

ESPN (w/o this last game) says 3.5 yds a carry. That's horrible.

3rd and 29 for Lions. Calvin Johnson got busted up, which is terrible for Lions hopes of pulling off a miracle. I hope he gets back in the game, he's looking pretty good today.

EDIT: Now, 4th and 28.

EDIT 2: CLASSIC!!! GB intercepts the ball! Game Over! Lions, 0-16! Un-fucking-believable. I never thought any team could lose every game.

What's unusual is a 16-0 reg. season last year, and now a 0-16 season. Damn.
You know what is even weirder. Detroit was the only 4-0 team in the pre season, and the only 0-16 team in the season. :D

There is just to much talent on the cowboys to have performed the way they have.

If romo loses can we offical call him a bust.

I always thought the Preseason didn't mean shit. :D
Just embarrassing, looks like no one gives a shit.
Cowgirls were overrated all year. This season, The Joker, Skip Bayless, was one of the only people to point it out.

A lot of so-called analysts kept saying, "look at the talent on paper!" BFD. Talent isn't everything.

You mean choke artist, right?

Lewis has seen his best days. As far as being a starting RB in the NFL, he's over the hill.

Is being a choke artist better the being a bust.

Naw. That means I would have to put him into the same column as pre superbowl peyton.

Peyton looked flawless until the big game and the blew it.

Romo never looks anywhere near as good as peyton during regular games. So I wouldn't call him a choke artist.

In my opinion.

Romo's just overpaid, overhyped help. Saying he's the best QB the Cowboys have had since Aikman isn't saying much, although they'd make you believe othewise.

I would, personally.

Although I wanted the Bears to win in all honestly the Eagles are the best fit for that final playoff spot. They have a strong defense and potentially explosive players on offense like McNabb when he's on and Westbrook. They way our defense has played all year we would've gotten slaughtered had we made it.

he is washed up QB

The Jets fail in so many ways. The only thing the Dolphins need to do is give them 3rd and short, they'll never convert.

Favre is the most overrated player of all time.
he is washed up QB
He can't be washed up bro. More like a bust or a fluke. This is coming straight from a Dallas fan as well.

I'm sticking with fire Wade Philips and Jason Garrett. Garrett runs a really simplistic offense. Actually make Philips the Defensive Coordinator. He ran the defense pretty decent this season.

ever year he's going down hill

I'd like to thank the Green Bay Packers for not letting up against the Lions. The Lions are the worst franchise in sports history.

The defense was the weak link this season, that and the offensive line. A lot of that was injuries, but the Dallas secondary was absolutely horrible all year when Newman wasn't back there. Anytime Dallas needed a stop they ended up choking (first skins game, ravens game)

I am not going to say that Romo doesn't have his faults, but he gets too much hate. The line has given him no time and allowed him to get beat up all year (Cardinals game).

Hopefully next year the injury bug won't be so cruel and so many crucial cogs won't get knocked out for prolonged periods.

Dallas needs to look at the Carolina blue print and realize that that is the team they should be. They need a run first coach who puts the onus on the defense and uses Romo as the playmaker primarily in play action pass situations and late in games. They need a Cowher or a Schottenheimer. Hell I would even take a Holmgren.

How about them Browns? ugh

I should be able to get a deal on season tickets next year anyway, heh. Watching Favre go away and the Cowboys play like crap helps reduce the sting a bit though.

Brett is not even going to shake hands with anyone.

fuck him.

Count down to him hijacking the NFL again starts now.

First 11 win team to not make the playoffs, thats unfortunate. Maybe if that OT game vs the Jets goes the other way, or if David Thomas doesn't take that late hit penalty late against the Colts, it might've been different, but... I predicted 10 wins this year, the Pats came through with 11. As depleted as they were, I couldn't ask them to do any better than that.

Brett Favre can rot in hell. Hell being East Rutherford NJ, the Jets are going NOWHERE with him at QB. Pennington proved this year that he's far better.

One of the best Sunday's I can remember being a 49er/football fan in general.....had some great games...good to see the Falcons in....ditto with the Vikes....props to the Dolphins and to top it all of the 49ers win....

Brett Favre....doors to the right buddy...

That was really a bitch move to just run away.
The '85 Broncos say hi.
What were they saying about a Cleveland team also winning 11 games and not getting in? Or was that some other weird stat?

Cleveland had 10 wins last year and missed out on some Common Team record tiebreaker to Tennessee.

They're saying on Fox that Phil Savage, GM of Cleveland, was fired today. Crennel has a meeting tomorrow, which I'm guessing that he's not looking forward to attending.

The Packers had a very disappointing year. The defence and special teams blew it many times late in the game many games where lost 4 points or less. Also to many injuries to count didnt help things.

Arod has a bring future in Green Bay next year. I think the Packers heal up and make less mistakes on defence they could be on top of the NFC north next season.

fucking Brett Favre. A small part of me enjoyed watching Pennington stick it to the dumbass Jets. They deserved to BLOW the division for ever thinking Brett "INT slinger" Favre could ever take them to the promised land, while cutting Pennington like a piece of crap. Morons.

11-5 and no playoffs, that's a real bummer. But like dafoomie, I had drastically lowered my expectations and have to be proud of what the Pats did this year. Injuries were horrible and ravaged our team right from week 1.

Thankfully I don't have to hear about the damn Cowboys anymore this season. Tampa Bay, way to blow it.

I am going to have to root for the Falcons now.

Keep hearing reports Brady's infection isn't healing up that well...chances he comes back in 09?

Hope he does...shit way to go out for the guy....

Well, it doesn't look like it'd hurt the Patriots chances. Cassell looks pretty damn good for a backup. I'm sure he could start the first few games of next season and the Pats would do fine.

Look on the bright side Lions fans, your best moment of the season was Matt Millen getting canned.

I really hope that wasn't Favre's last game. It'd be a sad way to go out. I'm happy that Miami won, anyway. The Jets couldn't make it after Baltimore won (the Ravens' victory which was never in doubt once that game got going anyway) so there was no effect on the Packes' draft pick, and I always enjoy seeing the underdog come up as logn as it's not a team/person I hate.

I missed most of that Cowboys game while watching Miami/New York, but I have a feeling I'll get some enjoyment out of my new DVR playing back the Dallas game.

I'll be relieved if Champ Bailey is out for the game, but I'd never wish a groin injury on any man.

Brett Favre....doors to the right buddy...
Same here except it was Dallas and Favre losing and of course the Niners win. Did you see the OT? They showed Jed York in the locker room introducing Singletary as the "new" head coach.

I hope the Broncos win this game. Chargers fans are fairweather; they don't deserve to see their team in the playoffs.

Hey, the Chargers are my adopted number 2 team, and I've still supported them while they were losing and watched almost every game.

Judging by the number of flag waving icons in your signature, you have your fair share of teams to pick from.

I'm with DT778. The Chargers win the title for most arrogant team having accomplished nothing.
