Same here except it was Dallas and Favre losing and of course the Niners win. Did you see the OT? They showed Jed York in the locker room introducing Singletary as the "new" head coach.
---
I hope the Broncos win this game. Chargers fans are fairweather; they don't deserve to see their team in the playoffs.
Jed York "This is last time our season ends in December"...

Coddamn...actually amped for the 49ers season next year....Mark Roman has to go....
First 11 win team to not make the playoffs, thats unfortunate. Maybe if that OT game vs the Jets goes the other way, or if David Thomas doesn't take that late hit penalty late against the Colts, it might've been different, but... I predicted 10 wins this year, the Pats came through with 11. As depleted as they were, I couldn't ask them to do any better than that.

Brett Favre can rot in hell. Hell being East Rutherford NJ, the Jets are going NOWHERE with him at QB. Pennington proved this year that he's far better.
Anyone else find it ironic that dafoomie, a Pats fan, is complaining about Favre acting like a bitch and not shaking hands? Um, your team has one of the biggest bitches of them all as head coach. Remember the Superbowl?

Hello kettle nice to meet you, my name's pot and you're black...;)
Brett is not even going to shake hands with anyone.

fuck him.

Count down to him hijacking the NFL again starts now.
That wasn't dafoomie that said that - it was Soodmeg. So no, I don't find it ironic at all. Take off your Patriot-hating glasses and you might be able to read better.

My bad, I guess that's what I get for trying to do three things at once...

Also I'm not just "Patriot hating" as you put it. I thought they did some very classless things last year capped off with their head coach bitching out because he couldn't believe the Giants stopped his perfect season. This year I give them all the credit in the world. The fact that they hit 11 wins given all the injuries they suffered was just phenomenal. It's also incredible that most likely an 8-8 team in the Chargers will make the playoffs and the 11-5 Pats will not.

Teams choking big time today. Not sure which one tops the list though.

And congratulations, Lions. You have succeeded in complete failure.

I really hate the "classiness" debates in professional sports. It's so very open to interpretation, and without fail, the people calling out other teams for being classless are generally on the losing end. People are biased against teams they dislike, but most people refuse to fess up to it. Whatever, it's subjective and pointless to argue about. I think Eli Manning isn't classy at all for that stunt he pulled draft day. Nothing he does will change that in my mind - but I'm sure other people think he's some great human being.

That said, that was a bitchy reply and I apologize. I am still slightly annoyed about the Patriots staying home for the playoffs. Given all that happened this year with injuries and such, their perseverance wasn't rewarded and that sucks.

Worried about Roethlisberger's concussion, but hopefully it's not too serious. At least Leftwich has proven to be a competent backup.
I was amazed as the sheer amount of Steelers games shown this year, lots of Sunday and Monday night games, whereas i would get to see maybe 2 regular season games a year in NJ before.

It'll be very interesting to see how the Jets look next year, one can only hope Mangini and Favre will be gone.

Cot-damn a lot of shit happened quick.

Mangini, Crennel, and Marinelli are all FIRED, Singletary stays as head coach, and Romolicious collapses in the shower.

Also, how in the world do the Colts at 12-4 end up as the #5 seed while the Chargers are #4 at 8-8 ?!?

What DJSteel said.

No matter what the record, Division winners are always over Wild Cards.

I am both excited and scared of what will happen for the lions in the off season.

The firings make me happy but its all about who the get to replace them.

They already messed up by naming a in house GM 1 day after their season.

But the rebuilding process will be a fun one to watch.

I do feel better that Mangina got fired for bringing in Favre and cutting Pennington. I doubt many teams want him as an assistant after he used his inside info on the Pats to cost them a 1st. What is the league going to suddenly learn about your team after he leaves for his next head coaching job?

The Browns firing Crennel and Savage is just window dressing, they're a cheap organization and will never win unless their next hire is given the purse strings.
Chargers fans are fairweather; they don't deserve to see their team in the playoffs.
That's not true, I've been a fan for 10+ years and my support has never wavered. I must admit that I am surprised that they were able to make the playoffs. Now, I just hope they can stay hot..

It's nice to know that someone else feels the same way I do about Eli. I always felt that players should feel privileged about being drafted and to act the way he did was crappy, but I always believed the Chargers got the right guy(Rivers) anyway.

John Elway pulled the same shit and people have let it go. I'm sure if Eli wins another Super Bowl or two, everyone will let him slide on it as well.

I must agree with DT778, Chargers fans don't show up unless it's a big game.. and even then they might not show up and the fans don't travel well.
Apparently, the 2010 Pro Bowl will be played the week before the Super Bowl, and in Miami rather than Honolulu. Interesting.
If I was on a team heading to the super bowl, I would not be playing in the Pro Bowl.

This is just stupid, who came up with this idea? Now teams that are going to the Super Bowl will probably not allow their players to attend so they don't risk injury.

Is this a joke?

Modell took the team from Baltimore in the middle of the night. That is why people don't care. Indy had no real connection with Elway.

The Shanahan firing does surprise me to a degree. I always figured him as safe for life. With that said, what he did to Plummer still really irks me. He goes from a guy who was in the MVP running to a guy who gets run out of town in less than a year. That never sat right with me.

Bring on Coach Cowher!

I was talking about football fans in general, not team-specific fans.

The Broncos press conference had to be one of the weirdest I’ve ever seen for someone getting fired. Both sides amazingly conciliatory, Shannahan still talking in the present and future. Still, I think the move will be good for both sides. Hopefully, Shanny will go to the NFC (he would be great in Dallas) if he coaches at all.

If he really wanted to piss the Broncos off he should take the Kansas City job (that is once the new GM fires Herm Edwards)...

So is Favre going to hold the Jets hostage all off-season like he did the Packers last year?

It sucks that Shanahan got fired, but I'd hope that they go after Cowher to give that team some discipline and help fix that awful defense. That seems like a perfect fit for Denver.

I'm not so sure about the Pioli/Ferentz rumors for Cleveland, but I guess Cleveland's got a pattern of pro assistant coach, college head coach, pro assistant coach, and college head coach going on at the moment.

Shanahan could be a good fit for Cleveland with the young QB in Quinn that he can mold and an offense that needs a facelift.

I won't because I'm a Chargers fan.;)

What the fuck is going on there?

When I played football in high school I hated when our 250 pound line would would try to jump all over you. Hell we are both excited but I am the only one could can get hurt from this celebration.

Also good run ATL I had no faith and you winning in the post season but good job getting there. Now to watch the charger suck it up.

LDT out once again.....can he be any more injury prone. Bum.

How one more thing. Why in the hell would you employ Matt Millen for the pre and post game analyst? What insight can he possible give you when he basically destroyed a a franchise.
:roll::lol:
You leave me and my hatred for LDT alone.

But seriously though....he hasnt been around for the last couple years to help his team out.

Hatred aside, I seriously would be working Sproiles (sp?) into the line up more and more everyday because LDT wont be along for to much longer and a good portion of the time he has been he didnt look that great.

Hatred back on.

For the first time in my life I am rooting for the Colts because the Chargers are the only team I hate more than the Colts.

EDIT: Damn you NFL Network...you said LDT was going to be out with some type of groin injury.

#-o I have still have no idea why you hate LDT soooo much. This year is a down year for him but he stats are still better then most starting RB's in the league right now.
Who calls him LDT and not just LT?
Confusion with the other great LT? I usually say LT but I notice some people on here call him LDT so I assumed I was in the wrong when I say "LT" :D

LDT is the NFL version of Karl Malone. Great stats but he disappears when you need him.

Couldn't agree more. Whether its the workload during the season or if its just him, he's never there when it counts.

Can you really blame him? They rely on him waaayyyy too much. They really never had a great passing game ( Until this season - Philips Rivers played awesome - Pro Bowl Snub right there ). You can't expect this dude to do everything when your passing game blows.

Uhh because one of my favorite players is Lawrence Taylor and I talk about him more often than I do LDT. So to avoid confusion I always say LDT.

Let me explain something though. I hate him because of his character and the way he goes about doing things. But I completely recognize how good the guy his.First ballot HOF for sure.

What is he this year? 16th this year?

LDT production has been completely all over the place thats all I am point out. 111 yards here, 24 yards there, 50 yards here, 12 yards there.

I just think the Chargers are stuck in the old days.....they could have a 2 head monster in LDT/Turner before he left or now with LDT/Sproiles but they refuse and just force feed LDT to much.

How Darran Sproiles gets less than 10 attempts each game is beyond me. The same with M. Turner when he was there. You can clearly see now that he had the potenial to be a starter when he was with SD but they are so star struck with LDT they mostly ignored him with less than 10 attempts per game.

LDT is a damn good player but there is no doubting he is completely all over the board and has been for the last couple years. Now he is always on the injury prone list (which is most likely do to the fact that force feed him)
LDT is the NFL version of Karl Malone. Great stats but he disappears when you need him.
Exxxactly.

As much as people want to throw his stats around I can never remember a time where he had made a "play" that really counted.

Jlarlee you summed it up great. He is just one of those guys that if I was building a team....as good as his stats are...I wouldnt put him on it. There are a good 10-15 other backs I would pick before getting LDT. Those included Turner and Sproiles who both made huge plays when the Chargers needed them to but never got any credit because if LDT even farted for 2 yard the media would be all over him to be first to sniff it.
