Wade can't do it single handedly. Watching this game I'm starting to think he is in the same class as lebron. He has been carrying his team and made a big play everytime they have needed one. And heck unlike lebron he does have a ring
Wade's been in the same discussion as Lebron and Kobe for years. If anything, I would almost say he's a better player than Lebron. Lebron has more physical tools (let's face it, he's a freak of nature), but Wade carries a terrible team to the playoffs year after year by doing everything in a smaller frame than Lebron.

RAY ALLEN misses two free throws?!?! What alternate universe have I slipped into?

The alternate universe of nightmares.
I love D Wade! I don't think there are many D Wade haters out there right?
Why would I hate a guy that will be playing for Chicago next year?:)
Mavs lose again and are now down 3-1 to the Spurs.
As a huge Spurs fan....

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I think part of the problem is that Artest is playing pretty terrible. He's contributed nothing on offense.
Yeah, for sure. He certainly picked the right time to go dead cold/have a dry spell.
So she is basically the female Bill Walton, eh?
See, I can stand Walton/Van Gundy/Reggie Miller, though I'd put Walton as the weakest of the bunch. This lady is just untolerable.
I am shocked that the Nuggets are on the verge of going down 3-1.
The whole NBA universe is reversed this year. It's bizarro NBA land.

I hope it continues with the Thunder beating the Lakers.
I hope it continues with the Thunder beating the Lakers.
I like what I'm seeing from that team, good young nucleus, could be a contender for years to come if they continue to improve.

It's not too Bizarro. The Bulls still are going to lose in 5. I give them credit for winning 1. Would of had a much better chance if we still had Salmons, but he had to go to bring in Wade/Bosh

I'm so sick of the refs. They keep making calls to effect the outcome of the games. They did it to OKC & Boston earlier and they did it to Boston again today. Calling non-fouls on Pierce and Allen, taking them out of the game. The Celtics still lost that game when they still had the chance to win, but the refs certainly did not help. At least Wade was phenomenal.

The only thing Bizarro about Utah leading the series is them doing it without Kirilenko and Okur. They have some of the best players in the league and they have the #1 ranking on several league stats. They have always been a tough team to beat and this year is obviously no different. A major difference between them and most of the other "superstar" favorite teams is that they are good as a team, not just for a single superstar. You can't just depend on Anthony or Wade or LeBron, etc. and expect to do well consistently over the years. You saw that tonight when Anthony took over at the end and tried to single handedly bail out the Nuggets. He was the only one on the team to have more than a handful of points. The Jazz had Wiliams, Boozer, Miles, Millsap all in high double digits. That is how you win games.

I guess it's to be expected. I'm glad to see a few comments in here respecting the Utah Jazz of the 90's. But back then it was all the same bias. Maybe if this team continues playing strong every year then in 15 years people will finally stop hating them.
So...anybody else think today spelled elimination for the Nuggets, Bulls, and Mavericks?
Sounds about right, Utah's play is incredible without AK47 and Okur.

Dallas still has a chance if their shooters hit and Caron Butler doesn't step on the floor. ESPN just showed that the Mavs are -44 with him on the floor and +23 with him off it. Pretty sad for someone who is supposed to be a defensive stopper.

Roddy B has to play if the Mavs have any kind of shot though.

Bulls are in a similar situation...they won virtually every statistical category, but simply could not shoot (38%). Outside of Noah and Rose, open looks just werent going in. Both the Bulls and Mavericks could shoot lights out in the remainder of the series, but for either of them to win three times before the Cavs or Jazz win once, I just don't see it happening.

I love David Stern calling out the coaches about complaining about the refs. Hello one of your Refs went to prison and it is assumed he fixed some games. Kind of hard for you to say the refs are above criticism

Orlando finished the sweep of Charlotte.

Bucks won to even the series with the Hawks at 2, so at least the Magic will get some rest before the 2nd round series which will go at least 6 games now.

I'm really surprised the Bucks are giving the Hawks a run for their money. Everyone tossed them aside after Bogut went down but many of the Buck players are really stepping their game up.

It's really sad Bogut got fucked up at the end of the season. I actually saw them making a deep run in the playoffs had one of the better big men in the league not broken his arm.

I love Kobes latest quote that goes something like this.

"The series is tied 2 -2 what the hell is wrong with you people"

For that my reply is this, The series is tied 2 -2 what the hell is wrong with you people"

I know, I know that LA has all the talent, experience and rings in the world but to be tied 2 - 2 with the Thunder is embarrassing. Who the fuck on their team can stop the Lakers post players? Its Kristic, Idaka and Collison vs Gasol, Odem and Byum.

So again Kobe.....what the hell is wrong with your damn team? They are going to have to spend a hell of a lot of energy in beating the boys from OKC and I bet you they wont have enough to make it too the finals let alone win the the title.

East is going pretty much as plan but the west is all types of crazy!

Well when the refs are letting Kurt Thomas elbow all of our players in the chest based on his mood swings, I'm not surprised we lost both away games

I hate to burst your bubble but the Jazz havent been to the finals since fucking 98 and the only thing they are really consistent at is losing in the first round of the play offs. And if I remember correctly the farthest they have gone in the last 10 years is the Semis.......best talent in the league but zero championships and 0 Finals Births.

Bias?
Well when the refs are letting Kurt Thomas elbow all of our players in the chest based on his mood swings, I'm not surprised we lost both away games
Yes, because the Hawks don't have a ridiculous track record of playing like hot garbage in playoff away games. They're now what, 1-11 in playoff away games in the past three years?

As a huge Bucks fan, yeah, I can admit that Kurt had some instances there where he came away lucky, but to place all the blame of losing on that is asinine.

Not to mention it is Kurt Thomas. You know you are reaching when you are picking Kurt Thomas as your fall guy.

Where the fuck has this Dallas team been all series? Right now they look like they could smoke anyone. Hopefully they keep it up tonight and for the rest of the series.

Damnit. And fuck the refs! That last Celtics game had the most ridiculous officiating I've seen in some time. I loved how you could hear all the fans yelling the same thing during the game! Even the commentators at half time said the refs gave Miami 10-12 points. Add in the 2nd half and they gave Miami a good 18-20 points. fucked over Allen again too.

So the first three teams to have their Finals hopes dashed are the Bobcats, Bulls, and Heat. Here's my take on where these teams go from here:

Charlotte Bobcats: The Bobcats just don't get a lot of national attention, so I admittedly don't know what their plan is going forward. They have a nice team, but the issue is they seem to be a team built for the regular season. They remind me alot of the Scott Skiles era Chicago Bulls: they look like a perennial playoff team that will lose in round 1 or 2 every year. Gerald Wallace is a great player and they have good interier defense with Thomas and Chandler (assuming they re-sign Thomas), but in my opinion Wallace is a championship calibar team's 2nd or 3rd All-Star rather than the first. They need to either get another All-Star player to play with Wallace (unlikely since they don't have cap space, and to trade for one would make them the Heat and have 0 supporting cast), or get about 3 more guys of Wallace's calibar to even sniff the 3rd round, let alone the Finals. They have a good foundation and a front office that wants to win, now the question is do they have the ability to get the resources.

Miami Heat: This is a disappointing year for the Miami Heat in my opinion, despite that they made the Playoffs. This team reminds me of the Sprewell/Olowakandi/Scyzybak Timberwolves. That team kept trying to "show Garnett they want to win" by adding good-not-great players, some of which they got on the cheap and others they overpaid for. Wade mentioned that he had to do it by himself in game four, just to keep his team from being swept. The Heat keep telling him they'll get him the cast he needs to get another ring, but very rarley can one All-Star do it by himself. O'Neal just isn't an All-Star anymore. Beasley is a good player but should be a 3rd or 4th option, not a second. He's a just-under-All-Star type guy (think Luol Deng), and shouldn't be expected to be more than he is, as thats how players become busts. I see this offseason making or breaking the Heat for the next 5 or so seasons. Wade likely won't make a decision on returning to Miami until the Heat make the rest of their moves, then he'll decide if he thinks it's enough. He's not looking to be a 2nd-3rd round punching bag every year, he wants more rings. Miami needs to look at how other teams have built around their star. Cleveland brought in Shaq, Jamison, and re-signed Illgauskas. The 90's Bulls, when it looked like Pippen and Jordan were aging and would need some help, traded for Rodman and brought in Harper. The Lakers got Pau Gasol to pair with Kobe. It's fine for Miami to re-sign Jermaine O'Neal, or other players of his calibar. But that cannot be the centerpiece. The need to add another great player, or Wade won't want to come back, and even if he does they'll have no shot at a ring in the near future. On a side note, I think it was tough luck mathcing up with the Celtics. I think thay match up much better against Milwaukee or Atlanta, and I think the Celtics lose in round one if they match up with any of the 7 other East Playoff teams, with the exception of Milwaukee (although i'd even pick the Bucks if Bogut was healthy).

Chicago Bulls: The Bulls are extremley close to contending for a title. Cleveland was an extremley tough matchup for them, because they don't have much low-post scoring outside of Noah. If the Bulls match up with Boston, I think they win that series. They first have to decide if they are bringing back Coach Del Negro. Unlike most people, I think this is a win-win situation. If they bring him back, they are bringing back a coach who is 2-for-2 lifetime in getting his team to the Playoffs, as well as the coach who has developed Rose and Noah thus far. If they don't, they'll be undoubtably bringing in an experienced and playoff tested head coach (the Chicago papers have thrown around the names Avery Johnson, Phil Jackson, Hubie Brown, Doug Collins, and Lawrence Frank (ugg) among others). Next on the list, the Bulls have one of the largest amounts of available money under the cap in the league this offseason, and their goal is to get another star to pair with Rose, as well as a 3-point juggernaut. Some have suggested targeting LeBron James, Joe Johnson, or Dwayne Wade. The Chicago media however keeps saying that they are targeting Chris Bosh, Carlos Boozer, or Amare Stoudemire, which to me makes a lot of sense. Adding a star big man seems like it would work very well with Derrick Rose, especially if they are also able to bring in a 3 point shooting 2 gaurd (say Warriors free agent Anthony Morrow?). The Bulls have the biggest to-do list of any of these three teams, but they also seem like the team with the best ability to get it all taken care of fairly early in the offseason. Look for the Bulls to challenge the Cavaliers and Magic for the East next year. On a side note, don't be fooled by the 41-41 reccord. The Bulls are a better team than that. Remember that they were on pace for 46 wins, and then within 3 days and right before (statistically) the toughest part of their schedule, Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, and Loul Deng all got injured and Kirk Hinrich got suspended. They lost 10 in a row without their 4 best players, but then they showed who they were again by taking 11 out of 14 to finish the season once their starters got back.

The wake up series happened in the first round this year.

Hawks are in a free fall they just blew a 2-0 series lead and the Bucks went on something like a 13 point run in the 4th quarter to take the lead and go up 3-2 heading back home for game 6.

Not over quite yet, there's still 10.6 seconds left but the Hawks definitely are in free-fall mode. A steal right now might change all of that though.

Edit: Now it's over, Bucks winnnnnnn

They are in a free fall after they won the first 2 games in blow outs.

Yeahhhhhh boy. God, I wish I still lived in Milwaukee so I could hit up game six. The Bradley Center is gonna be on fire on Friday night.

Sorry Claw Bulls couldn't beat the Celts without KG and you guys having Gordan who was on fire last year. We would have smoked you this year
