2010-2011 NBA Season Thread

Yeah, I think Knight will be good as well. Like I said, if I was the Cavs GM I'd take Derrick Williams number one, and probably Knight number 4 (or maybe trade down a few spots to get him if it doesn't look like he's going to go high).

I think that's probably what I would do if I was Cleveland. I think while this draft isn't that deep, the top 4-5 players still aren't too bad. You want to see a bad draft, look at the 2000 draft.
If I was Cleveland's GM I would look at taking Irving with the 1 and grab Kawhi Leonard with the 4 pick.
Not a terrible idea. Though they could probably trade down from 4 and still get Leonard.

The one thing about the mock drafts that stump me is why my boy Chris Singleton is listed around the 20 spot. The dude is an amazing defender with great athletism. I would think he would be higher.

i think d rose saw westbrooks performance last night and said anything he can do i can do better which wasnt really a good thing

saw this happening to the bulls a mile away. they have no offense besides derrick rose. you shut rose down and you shut the bulls down. i'm sticking with my initial prediction, heat in 6.

Not really. Deng, Boozer, Noah, and the bench are great and can score big time. It's just that when Rose gets stopped, the entire team just loses focus and starts to completely suck.

none of those players you mentoined can consistantly "score big time"

Well what do the heat have besides James and Wade...I guess they have Bosh, other then that nothing.
I mean their centers are terrible

Wow, they lose one game and now the Bulls are going to lose the entire series. I still maintain that the Heat have a depth issue and will be worn down by game 4.

i've been saying that the bulls aren't coming out of the east since the playoffs started. go back and look at my previous posts. At this point, I just hope Dirk can make it to the finals and get revenge on D-whistle.

No, I saw that, I just don't see how the Bulls losing one game really validates your point, especially since the Heat got run out by 20 in the first game. How do you explain that one since you saw this loss coming a mile away?:)

More like the Heat aren't coming out of the East. Seemed like the Bulls were just out of it with only shooting 34% and 61% from the line while the Heat were 47% and 75% yet the score was that close for the majority of the game.

At the end of the day this series was never going to be a sweep for either team. This game you had the Bulls playing very uncharacteristically and Haslem doing more then he has done in a long time. Hats off to James and crew because they took advantage of the Bulls who played with their heads inserted into their A#$. The Bulls are still going to come out of this series because they have more depth and on most days the Bulls will play a more disciplined game. I am still thinking that the Bulls are going to win in 6.

One point we can all agree on is that Dirk is a monster.

It's still anyone's series. Currently the Heat have a leg up as they did what they had to as the road team and got a split to steal home court back.

But all the Bulls have to do is get a split in Miami and then that advantage is gone, so it's a slight leg up.

I wanted to say that I think this will be Mavs in 5. Its pretty hard to stop Dirk with his cheats on so unless the Thunder get a game-genie, it'll be game over. The Mavs are too deep, and everyone seems to understand their role in the system.

The Bulls v Heat series is proving to be interesting. While I was glad to see the Bulls get game 1, I was not surprised that the Heat won game 2 as James and Wade can be soo explosive when they get going. I'd like the Bulls to win in 7, but think the Heat could put them away in 6. This will be a good series, might go either way.

For the finals I'd guess it'll be the Mavericks and the Heat ('06 rematch) with Dallas getting revenge.

rotf cant believe how better okc is doing with westbrook on the bench

and did mark jackson really say durant should start flopping more? wtf

I missed him saying that, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did. If there's one thing wrong with the NBA, it's that refs tend to, perhaps subconsciously, favor stars. Durant is more likely to get a favorable call than, say, Brian Cardinal. I have no proof, of course. Just the way I see things.

Not surprised, flopping has become the in thing nowadays, along with taking charges.

Superstars get more calls in every sport, not just basketball. Star pitchers often get a wider strike zone in baseball, star receivers get away with more pushoffs in the NFL etc. Just the way it is.

Just more noticeable in the NFL as there's more ref involvement in basketball than the other major sports as with all the foul situations there are a ton more judgement calls.

What is up with the god damn schedule? Why is it that there are handfuls of days in between each game?

What happened to every other day?

Probably to play more video game trailers to a higher audience ;)

Thunder got shitted on. The final score is not indicative of how the game actually went. OKC got ALOTTT of calls in their favor down the stretch.

Still. Thunder in 7! Please?

I feel sorry for whoever comes out the west. seem like d wade channeling his 06 self im praying that the statlines have all 3 players with 30+ fts a piece in each game
Bulls suck. Boozer can't play a lick of defense.
Rose has looked pretty bad the past two games as well. At least Boozer finally scored well (and had nice rebounds) today. It's sad that he got to the line more than Rose did though. They really need to win the next game or they're done imo.

Yeah, the Heat have 3 guys who can crush on offense if you are not careful the bulls? They have 1.5 guys. Rose and Boozer.

I am in the camp that doesnt believe that you can win when your PG scores 40 a game with only 4 or 5 assist. The constant driving to the rack maybe great for right now but he is going to have to change his game in a couple of years or be another Iverson with 3 flak jackets.

It feels as though the bulls dont run any actual plays and their best playmaker is their 7ft center in Noah. Big ups to him...damn he is a good passer.

OKC got favorable calls :whistle2:s ... look at the Mavs first half. The announcers even mentioned a couple of the no-hit calls and shown replays where the OKC player never touched the Mavs player. This was when the game was already a 15-20 point Mavs blow out.

Wow, fishy stuff in OKC. There was 39.8 in the game during the time-out. The clock mysteriously starts to run and they put 38.6 back on instead of 39.8. We just saw Dallas attempt a time-out and should have had at least 1.2 on the clock instead they get 0.7. The NBA needs to clean-up its refereeing situation.

and i thought lakers gave games away

i also like how marion is getting away with the same type of defense that collison got called a foul for
