Went to Comic Con today, and got into the 24 panel. A exclusive 3 minute clip was shown of 24 Season 8. Below is a detailed description of the clip
24 logo screen plays
It is late afternoon in New York City, and we see Jack Bauer inside his apartment going through his things, when he hears a knock at his door. He opens it to find a man he identifies as Victor (Benito Martinez). From their conversation it appears Jack Bauer and Victor had a past history. Jack asks "How did you find me", and Victor says he needs Jack's help because of his relationship with CTU. Apparently Victor has information about a possible assassination attempt today on President Omar Hassan (Anil Kapoor) when he is schedule to meet with President Taylor (Cherry Jones) at the United Nations to sign a peace treaty. It seems a third party does not want this peace treaty to go through.
Jack begins to question Victor's intel, and demands Victor hands him his gun. Victor hands it over, and we see Jack quickly take the gun and put it to Victor's throat to press him for information. Victor mentions something about helping these Russian guys deliver a package, but had no idea what he was getting into, and just wants out. However, he says he will talk more if he can cut a deal with CTU. Jack still holding the gun to Victor's throat responds with “You’re lucky I’m retired,”.
Scene changes to a underground tunnel
A black SUV is seen driving up to a entrance in this tunnel.
This appears to be the underground tunnel that leads into the new CTU New York Field Office. Hard to tell, but it kind of looks like the CTU main office area was located underground in some sort of bunker. A man gets out of the SUV, and it is the new CTU Director of Field Ops Cole Ortiz (Freddy Prinze Jr.). Cole Ortiz enters the CTU main chamber, and is quickly greeted by fellow co-worker Dana Walsh (Katee Sackhoff). Dana hands Cole some paper work, and the two begin to talk. Dana and Cole are both engaged to each other, Cole is a field agent, and Dana is a CTU Analyst.
From here we see the shinny new rebuilt CTU. This new set looks amazing, and very futuristic. It has come a long way from the original CTU office (Season 1-3), and even the newer CTU office (Season 4-6). The lighting in this CTU office is very dark, and is not bright like the FBI and other CTU offices were. The lighting is similar to Season 1's CTU office, but maybe a tad darker. A lot of black and stainless steel in the room.
As Dana and Cole are talking, we hear a loud banging. The camera zooms in to show Chloe O'Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) banging her keyboard against her desk in anger since being a stay at home mom for sometime has caused her to have a hard time keeping up with things. Her computer skills seem to have declined, and the frustration is shown. Dana Walsh walks over to try and calm her down, and make a remark to her about something that I forgot was said. The conversation however, is interrupted by a phone call (OLD CTU RING TONE WAS BACK) from Jack to Chloe. Jack tells Chloe he needs to talk to her boss CTU Director Brian Hastings (Mykelti Williamson) about something. Chloe tells Jack, that Hastings is busy, but Jack says something that convinces her that it is important, and we see her get up from her desk to head towards Hastings office.
The camera zooms out to a wide shot of the CTU Office, and then a shot of the Director's office where a man is standing looking out over everyone in the office. The man appears to be CTU Director Brian Hastings, and before Chloe can reach his office to tell him about the phone call from Jack Bauer, the camera fades and the clip is over.
