What games are some of you guys looking for? A store near me has many games here are some things I saw. There are some ds games, and a few psp games. Im waiting for it to get 50% off or higher then gonna clean them out.

The problem isn't the selection, it's the price. The Suncoast and SG in the mall near me have a good selection of games, the problem is that 40% off $40-50 isn't exactly a "deal".
 
Just got back from my Sam Goody (Broward Mall in Plantation, FL). Used games were running at 50% off. I snagged a copy of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance II (xbox) for $13 (after the discount). Already have the same game for PS2 (got it on Sunday at a used cd store for $14.99), so I'm definitely gonna e-bay one of my copies. Just gotta figure out which one is worth more. Amazingly, there were tons of used games left. I think people are waiting for them to cut the prices more.
 
Mine went up to 40% as well, and according to the manager the store is closing at the end of March, early April. I was surprised to see a Game Boy Micro on display, at $60 it's a total steal, but I don't care much for the lack of GB/GBC compatibility, I'm content with my first gen GBA SP. The iPod shuffles I might snag though, even though they're the 512 MB instead of the 1 GIG that I really want....

After the discount it will run about $18. Is that a good deal? It looks to be a nicer headset than the ones that come w/ the games. The earpiece is much larger, plus it has a mute button on it. I need a new PC headset and think this might do the trick, but I wanted to make sure it (or something comparable) isn't cheaper somewhere else. ;)
 
Chances are slim, but if any of the titles from the $9 titles in this thread can be found, there's some pretty good deals after factoring in the going out of business discount.

I got a a copy of WarioWorld (GC), marked $8.99, for $5.40 (40%). Same deal for Demon Stone (XBOX).

I thought they had raised the prices back up a couple of weeks after the sale started. Hopefully that isn't the case, I know my local Sam Goody still has a copy of Astro Boy GBA floating around.

Ehh...There were certain games from the original sale I was looking for, and when I saw WarioWorld (no price tag), I had the CSR scan it. It rang up for $5.40. Quick math said that $3.60 is 40% off $9. Finished buying that, took out a printout of the list, and sifted for other things - to no avail.

Sears has some headset for $9.99. I'm not sure if it's the same one as that or not but it's one of the better ones (not like the one that comes with Socom)

Went back to the mall today. Astro Boy was unfortunately back up to $19.99 from $8.99(Winter Clearance) so it was $12 after 40% discount, I decided to skip on it for now. I did snag a silicone skin for my Gameboy Micro for only $4+ though, so it wasn't a total loss.

Well, I went back yesterday & picked the headset up. Buy.com's price comes out to about $18 w/ shipping, and I never heard of that other place - but either way, this may not have been a super-deal but it was a good price.

I also picked up Civilization 4 for $30. I didn't see the PC games last time I was there (well...I saw one copy of Everquest II & the Starcraft Battlechest, but didn't see any others & figured they were a fluke). I decided that was a good price for that as well, and also figured (correctly) that my wife would have an interest in it too.

Then I finished out with a collector's set of Star Wars PEZ dispensors for $8. Very cool, there are 9 of them total. Mostly old-school characters too - there's C-3P0, Yoda, Chewbacca, R2-D2, Darth (of course), the Emperor, that goofy robot-jedi guy from the prequels, Boba Fett, and the Death Star. I almost bit on this set for $12 the other day (40% off of the original $20 price) but when I went back & saw it was down to 60% off I couldn't resist.

That's definitely my last purchase. There were big signs up saying "3 more days!", so it looks like the 40-60% off is as low as they are going. And most everything (DVDs/games/CDs) was 40% off.
 
I went to two stores today, the best thing I got was Astro Boy: The Complete Series (the new series, not the old one) for $21+tax.
 
Picked up a couple of CDs at my Suncoast: Damian Jr. Gong Marley-Welcome to Jamrock, Lady of Rage-VA to LA and Bob Marley-Legend. All three were $8.39 each. I thing I will be waiting for the next price drop because the anime is still to high.

Since I just remembered we had some of these stores around here :dunce:, I poked my head in one and looked around. Games at 40% off, and yes, you're right, it's not much of a deal when games like Dead To Rights 2 are $40. :shock: Guides were 50% off, and for that, it might be worth taking a look for some more hard-to-find guides.
 
i was upset when i went this weekend. 40% off and I could probably find some of those games for a lot cheaper. They have a great anime selection too bad it's like 10 dollars or more over MSRP.
 
I went to a Sam Goody's north of here this weekend... PC games at 50% off. Got Quake 4 ($25), IL2 Forgotten Battles Gold Pack ($15), Stubbs the Zombie ($20), Silent Hunter III ($15-$20, I don't remember which), and MoH: Pacific Assault ($10). I'm kicking myself in the ass for not getting a few more, like Pacific Fighters or the Sid Meier collection with Gettysburg and Alpha Centuari. They also had the Diablo Battle Chest.. but it was marked kinda high (I believe around $49). I also should have got Fear.. but I've seen mixed benchmarks with it on my card (GeForce 6600 XXX PCI-E, 256 DDR2). I want it, but I want to play it on high instead of dumbing it down to medium.

I also picked up the Beavis and Butthead collection for around $20.. they didn't have the Led Zep DVD's I was looking for, but I think I did fairly decent with all the PC games. I haven't noticed anything around the local stores on when they will finally be closing the doors, but I hope this goes on for at least a little bit longer.
 
The store here went to a conditional 50% off, just like the previous one, buy 4 or more new CDs and DVDs, receive 50% off.

Both display copies. Both scratched up to hell :cry: And I thought Gamestop/EB were bad with their display copies.

I can confirm that video games are 50% off. Everything in the store is marked 50-70%. I picked up FF XI With HDD for $50 and Ps2 In The Groove With Dance Mat for $35
 
Seattle, WA Westlake Mall is also 50% off of CDs, DVDs, and Video Games. Everything good has been wiped out. Many of the video games are still fully marked at 49.99, so there aren't any good deals to be had.

The clerk thought there would be another price drop. They were selling fixtures as well.

I picked up Battlefield 2 and Metal Slug 4/5 for ps2 and Wrestlemania 20 dvd for 60 bucks, I didn't see any signs for the tv dvd sets being 60% off but I would like to know when it goes lower because for some reason they have about 20 Seinfeld (different seasons) left. Would love to gobble those up at around 70%!
 
damn, the nearest one to me is 40 miles away.

anyone here know if the Sam Goody's at Lakewood Center Mall, Inland Center Mall, or Santa Anita Fashion have anything good left? 40 miles is just too far of a drive for me to go and find nothing.

50% here. Just isn't anything that I really need, just stuff I'd like to have, so I might even wait until I go on vacation and come back in the middle of April. If the store is closed by then, so be it. More money in my pocket.
 
I picked up The Warrors, Wario Ware:Touched and a PSOne for a little over $60. My son (2 years old) loves video games. I picked up the PSOne for his birthday. I figured it beats buying a used one and him not beating up my stuff.
 
best cheapass story ever :D

my cousin and i stopped by the suncoast in manhatten mall in nyc and saw that they dropped the discount to 50-70%. we were there a week earlier and browsed through most of the stuff already, but we went in anyway, joking about all the $5 pron movies we're going to pick up and how hes going to get bitched at by his gf.

once we're in, we saw a guy hanging signs up for more stuff getting marked down behind the counter and amongst the "stuff" was 2 brand new ps2 slim getting marked down from $150 to $75. none of us had much cash on us but luckily my cousin had his trusty debit card and brought one right away, (the guy working behind the counter snatched the other) and the final price was $81.27. unfortunely he never keeps much in his debit card and when we check his account balance 10 minutes earlier, he had $81.XX in his account. after buying the ps2 we ran to the nearest atm machine to check his balance to make sure he didnt overcharge (he claims that the overcharge fee was like $30) his card and sure enough there was a whopping $0.18 left in his account after the purchase :applause:

excellent deal for us since his 2-3 year old used ps2 have been dying on him as of late (takes 30 minute to boot up a game). when we went next door to radioshack to ask for a bag, the salesguy nearly flipped when he saw us with the ps2 and learned that we brought it for $75. :D

so in case anyone doesnt know, ps2s (and most likely the other consoles too) are 50% off.
 
The Lloyd Center Sam Goody in Portland, OR is now closed. The Pioneer Place store is still open, though. I wound up getting the last copy of Destroy All Humans for the PS2. I'll probably go back there sometime this weekend and see if there's anything left that I'd want.
 
from what another sam goody employee told me games will drop to 60% off this wednesday.
it looks like the end is very near
