Problem is that most stuff coming out on 4k is really only unconverted 2K scans. Once you see a true 4K presentation with HDR10+ it's astounding.
Most films are natively filmed in 2K, so the image is never going to be the quantum leap we want no matter what up-conversion trickery they engage in. This will change when native 4k becomes more common. In the present, some films, such as the films of Spielberg or Christopher Nolan, are given first-class treatments and are well worth the upgrade.

Yeah, Nolan is fantastic with his insistence on using superior film stock and hampering it with 5.1 sound.

Lots of the cheaper 3-D movies, like Assassin's Creed, Jumper, and the two X-Men and Planet of the Apes movies are now their Black Friday prices: $6.99 each.

Was walking past the movie display at Big Lots and World War Z 3D was staring at me. I grabbed it and behind it was Terminator Genisys 3D was behind it. Both $5. Then I dug more into the display and found the following, also for $5.
Immortals
Star Trek Into Darkness
Ninja Turtles 2014
Spongebob Sponge out of Water
Hercules
Rio 2
X-men Days of Future Past Ultimate Edition
Jurassic Park
GI Joe Retaliation.

Obviously, not all those titles are even C grade movies, but for $2.50 why not grab a 3D version.

Wait, he said $5 at the beginning. Where’s this $2.50 coming from? Well, those were all on one side of the display. On a different side of the display were clearance movies, and for some reason sone of the same titles that were priced $5 on the one side were $2.50 on this side.
So Immortals, Star Trek Id, Turtles, Herc, and WWZ were $2.50.

Are 3D Blu-ray’s still a thing? I personally loved the format. I noticed PlayStation dropped support with the ps5. Now I have to keep my ps3 and ps4 around.

There are fewer and fewer releases each year and I wouldn’t be surprised if this pandemic is the final death of it since these films aren’t even getting 3D releases in the theater. Trolls World Tour got a 3D Blu-ray release but it doesn’t look like Croods 2 will. Scoob! Didn’t get a 3D Blu-ray even though WB had still been doing them, so I’m guessing WW84 probably won’t get one either. Also, Disney had still been doing 3D Blu-rays in the UK, but Mulan didn’t get one and I’m guessing Soul probably won’t either.

There might be a few more, Kino is releasing Wings of the Hawk next month, there may be a release of WW84. There a pre-order listing for a 4K-3D steelbook from India which is going to be expensive to get. Vinegar Syndrome just released Silent Madness in November and then there was Friday the 13th part III that Shout released in a box set. Looking at things it does look like Trolls World Tour was the last major domestic 3D release.

Not sure if anyone else is still buying 3D Blu-Rays but Target currently has a Circle offer for 20% off all movies through 7/3 and Godzilla vs Kong 3D is finally back in stock:

Came out to $22.60 shipped for me after the 20% off + Red Card discount! :D

GvK 3D seems to be a fairly small print (Best Buy is already sold out) and MSRP is $34.99 so I doubt it'll get much cheaper in the future.

Best Buy is releasing Limited Edition Reprints of some of their more popular and sold out SteelBook releases. Most notable was Spider-Man: No Way Home. It looks like it costs more than when it was originally released.
