I finally had luck getting Civil War 3D.  I found one tonight at a different Walmart (that I didn't go to on BF) and decided to test my luck.  I took the movie up to guest service and showed them the cancellation email from the other store and asked if they would honor the price. And to my surprise, they did!  :D   YMMV, of course.

Boxtrolls 3D is $12.99 at Amazon.  It is current unavailable but they are still taking orders.  I have had this happen in the past and usually they will get more stock within a couple days though occasssionally they will cancel the order.  You may have to make sure you choose the $12.99 copy though as the site will probably default to a highher priced copy that is currently in stock.

Now if I could just find a good price on Finding Dory 3D and Kubo 3D.

I just turned my Laika 4-pak into the 3D one. For around $21, there's a Coraline/Paranorman 2-pak but if you don't have Boxtrolls you can get a 3-pak for 26 bucks. Kubo is still 27 bucks everywhere though. It's a fantastic movie and the 3D is pretty good.

Ah man that's a great deal but I have all of those but San Andreas already
My Star Trek into darkness 3D finally came from Amazon today

anyone had a problem with store pickup orders at best buy and never gotten a pickup notification email? I ordered the MadMax/San Andreas/ 300 3D bluray around 12pm and still havent gotten an email for pickup.

Usually they are super fast for me (around an hour or under). Maybe they are having trouble finding the item?

This has happened to me twice. I think once the email oddly went straight to the junk folder and the other time I never received an email. To check the status just go on the Best Buy website and go to the "orders" page. It should show if your item is ready for pickup.

This time of the year, it's likely that they're busy and it's going quite past the usual 30 minute timeframe they usually have for in-store pickup orders. As someone else suggested, you can always check status on the order lookup page online, regardless of emails not showing up.

Did anyone else ordered the Max Max, 300, San Andreas 3D box set? The one i went to pick up looks like its been resealed. By looking at the spines of the movies, the cover insert has creases. The cases look look like it got scraped.

Just saw this on slickdeals a few minutes ago and got super excited. Been waiting for even the slightest sale on the third hobbit 3D extended. These prices are insane!

Bought the third one, even though I already own the regular version of it. Just from some of the scenes I've watched, this is one of the best extended editions ever, as the added material covers major, large-scale action sequences and rectifies some of the original cut's mistakes, such as the long build up of tensions between the orc and elf armies that in the original cut unsatisfactorily ends abruptly, and we find out that the Blind Troll that comes out of nowhere in the original does indeed come from somewhere, and provides some cool action sequences.

I am so pissed off I didn't check this thread yesterday morning and pick up a copy.  It's no longer orderable for shipping and none of my stores have it.  If someone has it local to them and wouldn't mind doing me a favor to get it locally, I would be extremely grateful

All sold out within 250 miles of me for all three Hobbit movies.

Amazon is matching Targets 20% off all movies today only. Moana 3d preorder should be 22.40 at Target

Got my Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies 3D Extended Edition in today.  Man that packaging is nice.  Lenticular slip case it looks like.  Sucks they have so few of those to go around.

I've never seen The Hobbit Extended editions without the lenticular covers. Unlike most 3-D blu rays with lenticular covers, which stop with the covers after a certain amount of time after release, these have been out for a while, and still have covers, so I believe they're part of the packaging, especially since the cover is under the shrink wrap. However, it does have a "normal" case within, so it could be sold without it.

Was there ever a BFG 3D release from Disney?  I know it didn't get the box office most Spielberg movies got, but our family really enjoyed it and would love a 3D Blu Ray release.

I think Disney was scared away from the 3D home release by the poor box office for this and Pete's Dragon (which also released the same day, sans 3D). I thought The BFG was good also, and heard the reviews for Pete's Dragon were good as well. A shame we won't be able to get the complete versions of both of these.

No 3-D releases from Disney is almost expected now (Pixar, select Disney Animation Studios releases, and Star Wars seem to be exceptions, though they made us wait a good six months or so for Episode 7 3-D). Maleficent (which did extremely well in theaters) didn't get the 3-D treatment, nor Big Hero 6, nor did Alice Through the Looking Glass (though that one did not do well in theaters). So many people must have bought a 3-D version of Frozen through Amazon UK (everyone I know that has a 3-D TV did) that version is now offered through U.S. Amazon. This region locking business, though nothing new (hello Ratatouille), really sucks, and I hope they don't start using it more.

Dang Disney and their 3D-aphobia for the US! Has anyone found a region free edition to import?
I bought the Indian which is Region Free, I believe the German release may be region free but not entirely sure, there is a Norwegian release that came out not to long ago but unsure about that one, it does come with a Dolby Atmos.

Do you have a trustworthy source you purchased the indian release of BFG 3D? I only see the UK and German currently on eBay and would appreciate a recommendation if you have had good luck with someone. Thanks!

I know this is a bit off topic but figure I would mentioned CES 2017 has effectively had zero 3D TVs announced which many are calling the death knell of the feature. Hard to believe such a cheap function would get totally eliminated from the market but for those who were either looking at 3D or getting a new TV with 3D in thee odds aren't looking good.

no 3d tvs at ces = cry.  I was hoping to get an updated oled with it. What are the options we have in the future? Projectors doesn't seem simple and WAY more costly. Might have to get my 3d tv repaired or buy a 2016 model now.

I find it hard to believe at least one manufacturer won't make them, especially since 3-D versions often outsell their 2-D counterparts, but there seems to be a lot of hatred by some very powerful people, and that often trumps economics. If the 3-D TVs out there now are all that will ever exist, I simply won't buy any new TV that doesn't have 3-D in it, and if my current TV breaks I guess I won't ever get to watch TV again and my movie collection will stagnate.

Vr Headsets are 3D anyone know if you can watch 3d blu rays on a ps vr or htc vive? if so hope for the future with better screens in them!

Good point, apparently all 3D headsets do support 3D content except PSVR, which should hopefully change soon. Since VR natively has to render side x side 3D in most cases it actually takes more effort to turn 3D off for bluray. Even though it will be a while before there are high res VR panels at least it means I won't be stuck with a bunch of great movies I can't watch. Force Awakens 3D was absolutely amazing and it's crazy that you wouldn't be able to watch it if you bought a new TV in 2017.

Edit: Scratch that, as Occulus and Vive only support it through alot of hacks of ripping and and encoding the bluray which isn't exactly consumer friendly. I guess at least the display obviously still support it.
