I can't believe Columbia House is still around
I know--I only deal with the hassle of denying my Director's Selection every 3 weeks so I can take advantage of the occasional deal like this that pops up once or twice a year.
LOL, I just counted and I have 16 3d movies and don't even have a 3d tv yet :p
I'm on the same boat, the wife won't let me upgrade any of our televisions. I guess it's a good thing considering the technology is only going to get better.

I have a 3D TV that came with glasses. The glasses were inside a box in a separate package. I tossed them back in the TV box without even opening them and put the TV box in storage (for when I move to a real house instead of this shit apartment). Do you guys really enjoy the 3D? I went to 3D Toy Story 3 by accident and was less than impressed. Is it much different than the theaters? I can't imagine having to wear glasses while watching. I like to lie down/lounge in my bed usually when watching movies. Having to sit up and put on these glasses seems less than desirable.

I only buy the Blu-ray's in 3D when given the option since the resale value seems to be substantially higher and in the case of Transformers 3, comes with some nice incentives, hardly much more up front cost too on release week/day, usually anyway.

No troll, I'm just truly impressed how much activity there is in this thread about 3D Blu-ray's. I thought the whole 3D thing was a hoax and would not last a day.

Not too impressed with it, save for a few rare moments. I got my tv cause our was good, and the 3D was a bonus.

Try a few movies at home. The theatre version of Tekken 3D had crappy effects. At home, I followed a piece of ember off my screen before going, oh right, it's a movie.

Cool deal, would have done it had I not I already picked up the regular version for $10 at Best Buy a couple weeks ago. Planned to use the $10 coupon inside to make it free and then trade-in the 2 disc at Amazon to get some more money back. (So if I get for $24.99 at Best Buy on Tuesday - $10 coupon + $7.50 trade-in, that's a slight savings of $17.50 after all is said and done. Plus I get the RZ points and can give the second digital copy away to a friend before trading in to Amazon.)

I can honestly say that my 3D TV looks A LOT better than the theater's 3D. The clarity is much better and the 3D effect works a lot better, also. Lying down isn't a problem either because I have tried this with mine and I don't lose the 3D effect at all. I'm using an active shutter set, by the way.

Hey thanks guys, glad I asked now. I may go pull out the glasses and give it a shot.

I have no idea what kind of 3D TV i have. it's a Panasonic VT something from last year. A plasma display. Didn't care, as all I knew was at the time it was ranked the best 2D and 3D (didn't care though) TV on the market.

Anyone use a region-free bluray player, btw? I'm not sure if I want a 3D one or not, but I definitely want a region free DVD player that's capable of converting 50Hz to 60Hz. I'm undecided about 3D still, so I'm kinda gauging what people think.

Nice TV from what I've heard so you should enjoy it. What you're using is active shutter too. If you decide to try it out be sure to come back and let us know what you think. Remember, also, some 3D Blu Rays will look better than others so don't let one stinker at the beginning affect your whole view on 3D, lol.

Cap and Thor are not part of the 2fer deal.
I alerted Amazon of the prices but they don't want to seem to budge on those two titles.
I don't think I have seen them less then $30 on there.

You got your money back, I don't see how they screwed you exactly? Things get lost in the mail. It's possible it could still get to you, and you'll have been refunded for it.

No, screwing you would be not giving you any money back, and saying "tough luck loser". What exactly did you expect them to do btw? The movie appears to be OOS so they can't just send out a replacement. The best they could do is refund you, which they did.

Nice!!

I'm going to pick these up today or tomorrow. :D

Where is the price alert button? I remember seeing it years ago, but now can never find it on any product pages.

At the very bottom of the Product Details area, it has a link,

tell us about a lower price?

Click that.

avoid Hubble at all costs. It has 8 mins of real 3d, the rest is fake.

A gift card would've been nice so i could buy it in store for the same price or something along the lines of me still getting the movie. no one has it for under 20.... bottom line Im screwed out of a movie period....
avoid Hubble at all costs. It has 8 mins of real 3d, the rest is fake.
Woah! I wouldn't so much call it fake. I will say the actual part where they showed the shuttle being fixed wasn't quite as interesting as the rest of the documentary, in my opinion, but that was only around 10-12 minutes of it and the rest was pure beautiful space 3D imagery, aside from the training underwater and preparation, which was very cool to watch, also. Can you elaborate a bit more on what made the 3D fake?
avoid Hubble at all costs. It has 8 mins of real 3d, the rest is fake.
I would disagree. My kids and I enjoyed watching the movie very much. It was a bit short but I only paid $15 for it so I was very happy.

"A wise man told me not to argue with fools, cause people from a distance can't tell who is who."

I agree with you Anubis, but knowing gonzo, he'll argue that you're asking for too much and you are what's wrong with society nowadays, you expect something for nothing and you're raping companies, keeping them from making a profit....blah blah blah.

So just save your breath. Maybe you could ask the Walmart twitter people and see if there is anything they can do? Or maybe shoot out an email to walmart.

I dont know that dude so i wasnt aware of the issues lol. Thanks for the advice though ;) I just gave up on it so ill wait for Rio to come around on sale again.

BTW anyone excited for TF3 in 3D? Im rushing home after work just to watch that :)
anyone have an extra transformers coupon? I have some Bb rz coupons to burn
I have one from the original blu ray. I bought the 3D one from amazon and cant use it. How would i get it to you?
avoid Hubble at all costs. It has 8 mins of real 3d, the rest is fake.
I saw it on the IMAX screen 2 summers ago at a museum in Chicago and I've been looking forward to watching it again ever since.
"Fake" 3D doesn't bother me very much - even 2D content in simulated 3D looks good to me on my TV. :)

I noticed several other 3D Blu-Rays are on sale on BestBuy.com:

$19.99
Cats & Dogs: Revenge of Kitty Galore 3D
Conan 3D
Clash of the Titans 3D
The Final Destination 3D
IMAX Deep Sea 3D
IMAX Under the Sea 3D (I may pick this one up)
IMAX Space Station 3D
Legend of the Guardians 3D

I'm not sure if the prices are good in store as well, but I'm heading to Best Buy shortly so I'll try to check some of them.

It's a shame the "Upgrade 2 Blu" promotion ended last Saturday! :(

I was in the store this morning, and one of the endcaps had a rack of all of these $19.99 on sale titles. Didn't see anything about the 2 for $30 so not sure if that applies to these.

I know a lot of people say the 3D is great on Legend of the Guardians, but how is the movie? I know it is based on a kids book, but is it blatantly a "kids" movie or is the story good enough to pass as a lighter fantasy movie?

Did you happen to see if Thor and Capt. America had the $25 tag in the store?

Didn't watch this one in 3D. The story is very simple and predictable. Ok kid's movie, but not at all deep.
Did you happen to see if Thor and Capt. America had the $25 tag in the store?
I grabbed a Capt. America off the shelf and it did ring in as $25 despite not having a sign, so I picked that up in addition to T3 with the $10 coupon :)

I definitely felt like the movie wasn't an outright, total kids movie. The tone could be a bit dark and somewhat violent at times, especially compared to your average Disney/Pixar movie. The action in it was great too, I liked it a lot.
Did you happen to see if Thor and Capt. America had the $25 tag in the store?
They both had tags at my store as did all the $19.99 Blus.

Does anyone know if the Hubble 3D Combo pack (with lenticular slip cover) is coming up $19.99???
The BB I went to only had one copy of the single disc version with no slip cover. :S

Man, lower the price and people actually buy the 3d versions. I wanted Capt and Thor the most, not in stock, so I just ordered them. Paid $5 after a $45 rz cert. Went to the store with my nephew to see there were any he wanted to see more than the rest and the $19.99 ones were almost picked clean. Pretty much all they had left was a Yogi, Deep Sea, and a couple of Harry Potters. Oh well. $15 is the what I'd really want to pay for any of the other ones, but $20 was worth a shot if they had any.

FYI, Best Buy is selling the Sony 3D Glasses for $40 this week. Works with MOST 3D TV (not the newer ones with BluRay as the emitter).

Debating on getting some to go with my 2010 Samsung....although, I've read that they are not that comfortable and the glare is bad. I only have the 3D glasses that came with the Samsung starter Kit (MonsterV Aliens 3D). I really want a rechargeable pair of glasses, just not sure what brand.

I don't think they will work with the Samsung tv's will they?? If so, I want to get a pair of Samsung glasses for my Sony 3D tv. I have the youth pair of glasses I bought for my gf, but they fit my head too. My first pair was the PS display glasses, they are very uncomfortable.

I think it's just the whole principal of $40 for a 3D movie. Don't get me wrong I LOVE the 3D releases, and I've been buying a lot of them, but I'm not going to pay $30 for a piss poor release of something like Conan that gets bad reviews.

FYI, The Polar Express 3D is listed for 2500 points on WB Insider Rewards. Though, I redeemed my points for it a week ago and have yet to receive any kind of coupon code to order it from WBShop.

Has anyone ever redeemed WBIR points for a BD before? Anyone know a CS contact number for WBIR? (They don't seem to be responding to their contact form/email and calling the WBShop # didn't work.)
