how else are we going to get this thread to stay on page 1 the day after sales without the 100 complaints of the various things that proves Nintendo is a dinosaur and should go third party so Sony can handles a sales/online properly for them.

I just picked up a $20 e shop card. I thought I was going to purchase Inazuma Eleven for the 3DS, but I am wondering, if there is a cartridge version, and if it is any different from the 3DS e-shop Digital Version. I am new to digital games, so don't know if I can justify spending $20 on one game. Anyone who bought Inazuma Eleven, have any advice, as to whether getting the digital game?
It's only available digitally in NA.

Your chances of getting them to price adjust an eShop card or anything similar are about zero. Probably going to just have to eat the 60 cents per game.

Is this the first time the Guild 01/02 titles have been this cheap?

I wish there was a way to buy eShop games on a PC or at least gift them through the 3DS, didn't realize the sales would end 9 AM/12 PM and I don't have access to my 3DS right now. :(

I think maybe one or two have gotten to $2.99 before, but it could actually have been $3.99. Certainly the first time the large majority have gotten to $2.99, though.

Just finished up crimson shroud the first time through.. man it's a really short game.  $3 would be tops I'd pay for it even though I said earlier it's worth $8.  I must recant it given how short it is.  I could play through it a second time, but it's the same game with a higher difficulty.  Dont pass it up on discount.  At full price, buy only if you're a D&D fan.

Successfully threaded the needle and made it to Best Buy at 11:00 opening for a 20% off eshop sale, then used that to purchase most of the Level 5 games (Aero Porter was the only one that looked kind of meh to me) before that sale ended at noon. East coast FTW! ;)

oh man this is so lame. I missed the guild games on sale. I couldn't buy them earlier because I didn't have the space free on my 3ds to download them. Eshop needs an upgrade.

Can't you buy games and choose to download them now or later? I've only had my 2ds a few days but thought I saw that option when I purchased zelda.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why couldn't you 1) buy a bigger SD card (easy), 2) just clear some space on your existing SD card (easier), or 3) buy the games now and choose the "download later" option (easiest)?

Don't get me wrong; the eshop definitely has plenty of issues. But your complaint doesn't feel attributable to any of those.

Thanks for the help guys. I've gone purely digital with my Vita and would do the same with 3DS if Nintendo figures out the account situation and have better sales.

I think I'll probably take the plunge and grab Overclocked.
I recently started playing the original on DS (which is why I'm skipping Overclocked) and I love it. You've made a good choice.

Much like when your battery level is low, I don't believe the eShop lets you purchase things if you don't immediately have the space for them, so you don't get to the Download Now or Later screen at all.

Yeah, it doesn't work that way.  I didn't have enough room for Bravely Default, so it made me leave the eShop and clear out room before I could even purchase it.

Thank god my Best Buy had free WiFi, I bought Liberation Maiden, Attack of the Friday Monsters, Crimson Shroud, and The Starship Damrey literally 10 minutes before it ended..after a half hour fuckup where the employees there got a code for Super Mario Wii U code instead of a $50 code but I did leave Best Buy with a $50, $35, and $20 eShop card for $69 (lol)

I tried buying Crimson Shroud last night but I kept getting an e-shop error saying my CC info was incorrect. It was correct. I got charged 5 times with a $0.00 balance on the e-shop. The charges are pending and I know they'll go away after a few days but I missed out on the sale because of the e-shop error! Anyone know how Nintendo handles things like that? I already e-mailed them...just wondering if anyone here has had something similar happen to them

I picked up and played through Attack of the Friday Monsters, Starship Damrey and Liberation Maiden and they were well worth $2.99. Picked up Crimson Shroud while I still had time last night. I skipped Tanks vs Bugs, but now I wish I had grabbed it. Hopefully they are on sale again for $2.99 along with the new game. Guild stuff ended up being much better than I expected. Not sure they were worth $7.99, but at $2.99 I had no complaints.

I remember something like that happened to me but for gohastings. Ended up trying three times before I decided to check my bank and saw three transactions of $50 each, missed a lot of great deals that week waiting for the charges to drop. Hopefully Nintendo is more helpful. I literally got the same bs email three times when I tried contacting customer service.

I bought all the Guild games, minus Tanks vs Bugs, I saw the trailer and gameplay, yet could not be convinced.

Missed out on the Guild/Level-5 sale :(. And here I thought this sale ended tonight at 11:59 PM PST/2:59 AM EST. That's what happens when you stall too long, lol. Oh well, guess I'll be waiting for all six of these to hit $2.99 again...

Had $5 on my eshop acct so bought a $35 eshop card from BB. Set my location to Oregon to avoid sales tax and grabbed Bravely Default. Hoping it's as great as I've heard

I was unaware of this. Apparently I should have done a little more research. Luckily everyone I've spoken to speaks very highly of the game.
Still might want to play the demo as well, just for fun. It's not necessary, but it gives you some extras for the full game (nothing you can't live without though). It took me about 10 hours (!).

I'm enjoying Bravely Default a lot, and it makes me sad that there aren't more games like it. :( I have never been a big fan of the whole job system, a la FFV, FF Tactics, etc etc, but they make really good use of it here, and everyone seems to adore it (the job system in general). I think it engages my OCD, which I find upsetting. I also miss the drama of games that switched party members in and out and had multiple parties going at certain times (FFVI, IX, etc).

But mostly I just miss great JRPGs. Bravely Default does the stuff all the old classics did. It just, in many cases, does it better and respects the time of the player much more. It's no FFVI, storyline-wise (or that could just be my nostalgia speaking), but I think it's a "better" game than FFVI. It's also freaking gorgeous. I actually am unsure how they got it so pretty. I think they used a lot of fancy 2D art on 3D planes. Or maybe it's polygons and they're fooling me, but I don't see how. Either way, I haven't seen a game this pretty since 2D died.

ramble ramble... supposed to be working but now I want to play BD...

I just started playing the demo again while waiting for the game to get to me since you get some starting bonuses. I didn't get it the first time I tried but when I started it again the other day it clicked and I can't wait for the game to get to me now.

The demo is odd because it sort of throws you in without a whole lot of explanation or practice. RPG demos do this a lot, I realize, but at least this isn't in the middle of the story or something. I impressed myself by mostly figuring it out.

The actual game itself is much more user-friendly. I hope the demo hasn't scared away potential buyers. The demo is pretty much purely gameplay without much pretense.

Exactly. It starts out telling you about Brave and Default and all this other stuff that actually doesn't help you off the bat. Maybe I missed it but it doesn't tell you that you can set their jobs right off the bat and once I realized that the second time it changed everything. Though I still wandered around for four levels wondering why my Red Mage couldn't cast any spells not realizing I had to buy them from the store. Once you start realizing those things it all kind of falls into place. Just throws too much info at you at the start and then leaves you on your own.

Yep.  Even though I've been playing JRPGs since Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy (maybe longer??), I found it a bit jarring and was worried I wouldn't figure it out.  It almost felt a little "western," to me, not being told what to do...  :)

But the actual game is not really like that.  And I have to say, it isn't nearly as overwhelming as Japanese RPGs can sometimes be, with 10 tutorials per hour about system after system.  Maybe that's just because I already figured most of it out through the demo, though.

mang I wish my best buy was not that far from the house. arghhh. I also wish that I could purchase denominations of 5 on e-shop. I have $15, and I am 5$ short from Inazuma Eleven.

damn that sucks! :(

You can buy the e-shop cards online. They just ship it to you though, free I think. And you can add 5 I think...check Inazuma on the e-shop and purchase, then you can click "add needed funds"

dam it, wish i knew that. sorry new guy here on the 3ds. just picked one up a month ago. thanks for the information, really helpful and useful for future reference, what a dope I am.

"Download Later" just means it will begin downloading when the 3DS is in sleep mode after you close it. It's helpful in that you are free to do other things on the 3DS instead of being stuck staring at the sequence while waiting for it to finish downloading.

Well I got 50 dollars left in my eshop thanks to best buy's 20% off deal.

Come on Nintendo...  impress me with deal's.

Guess that explains that.

Dumb that it won't let you buy for later if you don't have enough space, but I guess I could see how some idiot would complain that they let him spend his money when he didn't have room to actually download and play the game.

I'm sure there's plenty of legally mentally retarded people that would see past the bullshit of "oh, you can't buy ___ because you don't have enough digital storage space."

So it would have to be one major idiot.

Played like 3 hours of BD last night. I know I've barely scratched the surface but so far I'm enjoying it a lot. Can see this being a game I end up playing over the course of the entire year

Traded in Star Fox 64 3D on Saturday for $16 and won $10 from that Pillsbury game going on haha...$40 e-shop credit here I come!
Where does Starfox trade for $16? I just bought it for $16 used from GoHastings, so I wouldn't mind getting $16 back soon. :)

The new deals for today:

Cocoto Alien Brick Breaker - $7.99 - 20% Off - Ends 3/24

Shin Megami Tensei IV - $29.99 - 40% Off - Ends 3/3

Viking Invasion 2: Tower Defense - $4.99 - 29% Off - Ends 3/24

I believe all of the DLC for SMTIV is also on sale, though that stuff is sort of hidden in the game's menus.

I know Atlus puts their stuff on sale whenever they feel like it. Makes sense for them to put other games on sale today since the ones they had last week just expired today.

Is Vikings invasion 2 any good? I just got my 2ds a few days ago and would love a good tower defense game. If this one is no good are there any that are good recommendations?

I know there's a decent version of Plants vs. Zombies on the eShop, but nothing else has stood out to me for much of anything else in that genre.
