What, you mean because Miyazaki-san retired?

Nah, they're still around. Production is supposed to only be on hold temporarily.
Don't know about that. The main two are retired, and the one thought to continue making films (Yonebayashi) recently left Ghibli. There's literally nothing in the pipeline.

Yeah, downloaded Rumble World yesterday and played it for a while. Seems pretty fun, but it seems like it could slow to a daily 10 minute thing or something, once you reach a point where you need more diamonds and have to do the daily missions. Not sure. Seems pretty cute and awesome for free.

So originally I was going to grind through all the areas I had unlocked and get all the Pokemon before buying more balloons, but it looks like the game limits you around Rank 6 to where you can visit all your balloons when the timer has counted down. So it is more in your best interests to unlock all the balloon locations you can to have more to do, although no telling if they limit this later.

I am at Rank 11 and the timer does slow down after Rank 5. Went ahead and bought the two on sale diamond packages though (50 for $0.49 and 200 for $1.79) and bought the Hoenn and Johto balloons. And enough Pokémon Houses to hold over 300 Pokemon.

Nice. That seems reasonable. I could see myself buying those.

I forgot to download it last night, and my 3DS is at hime, so no playing during lunch. It looks like fun, I played a littlebof the Pokemon Rumble series, and it's cute, but I think I'll enjoy it more in short bursts, which is kind of why I like Pokemon shuffle.

Long time lurker, first time poster.  Love what you guys do and would like to contribute more regularly.

Anyway, I just wanted to ask for opinions on Mighty Gunvolt, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, and Tomodachi Life.  I can't remember if Mighty Gunvolt has a demo and don't have access to my 3ds right now to check.  I haven't spent a lot of time with Tomodachi's demo but wanted to know if it is worth it based on all of your experiences.

Also, have any of these been cheaper than they are now?  For latter two games, have they been cheaper via physical copies?  I probably don't need anything since I'll be grabbing Xenoblade tomorrow and have plenty I haven't played but am still curious whether I should put these in the backlog.

Thanks!

You're probably fine waiting for a better sale on Kirby & Tomodachi, like the B1G1 BBY had last year.

Tomodachi is okay but the novelty wears off rather quickly and you won't play it nearly as much as Animal Crossing. Kirby is also fun but I've played better Kirby games... So I don't think either are games that you need to rush yourself into buying.

Like you said, you'll be busy with Xenoblade for quite a while.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe is a fantastic Kirby game that makes good use of the 3D and its two-plane level design. I really enjoyed playing through it and want to do a second playthrough after unlocking the [customspoiler='Unlockable Spoiler']King Dedede campaign[/customspoiler].

Mighty Gunvolt doesn't have a demo because it's a short, easy game and it would give away a lot more of that game than they'd like since it was formerly a freebie for buying Azure Striker Gunvolt. It was still decent fun to try out the different characters it has to see how they play differently.

Kirby Triple Deluxe is one of the best 3ds games I've played. I really really liked it. I would not suggest you buy it for this price unless you want it digitally, as that's a pretty good price for a Nintendo game digitally, all things considered. You can definitely find a better sale eventually for Kirby cart though. BUT, it's a really great game, so if you don't want want to wait, I certainly won't blame you.

Guess I'll grab myself Mighty Gunvolt.  Fighting temptation on EMD since I'm already far too backlogged and that will one day be $15-$20 on the eShop.

And no, botticus, you really don't need to download Xenoblade, you can just pop it in the Wii again.  You already beat it, it doesn't matter if it's a much easier game to play portably.

Mighty Gunvolt is fun but short. I actually like it better in some ways than normal Gunvolt just because it doesn't have Gunvolt's atrocious score system and the design built entirely around that.

That said, it is really short and really easy. And you should just buy the DLC right off the bat. It's just like $3 but adds four really nice levels and bosses that might actually kill you.

Kirby Triple Deluxe is pretty good and I think the final battle in there is one of the best realized since Marx (Assuming you're like me and not impressed by OOH SPOOKY BLOODY CREEPY HORROR MONSTER IN A KIDS GAME HOW SHOCKING SUCH DISSONANCE and prefer something that is a bit more tonally consistent.). The problem is, it's still a Kirby game. At least in a cake walk you have a chance to lose. Here you're just running through the motions and as a result the game is kinda long for what it is.

And, like all the recent Kirbys, the best stuff is what you unlock after beating the main game.

Oh and Tetris Ultimate is worth the price if you like Tetris or forgot why you liked Tetris. It is nice having a system in my pocket that has Tetris, Dr. Mario, Puzzle League*, Mr. Driller, and Bomberman all accessible at the touch of a screen.

*Puzzle League is not as good as I remember.

Yeah, I was playing Kirby: Triple Deluxe at the same time as Yoshi's New Island. Completely opposite ends on the difficulty spectrum.

Also in opposite sides on the fun spectrum.
I actually like both a fair amount but I didn't own an SNES to play the original Yoshi's Island, nor a GBA to play the port (though I did get it through ambassador status, I never played it) so it's my first Yoshi's Island game.

I JUST now, 5 minutes ago, beat Kirby Triple Deluxe.

I had an insanely fun time playing it! Some of the 3D was impressive, and that final boss was intense, especially when your lives are running low like mine were.

That said, it's very Nintendo, as in kid friendly, as are kirby games. So if you're down with that, have at it. It took me about 5 or 6 hours to beat it straight through. It looks like there's some fun modes you unlock afterwards, but if you're looking for story you can get through it pretty quick.

I got it during BB's b1g1 free when they had it. So it's a win win for me!

Did you unlock the bonus levels that you get from collecting stuff? Did you get the golden keychains on each level? Not trying to knock your win, just trying to figure out if I was simply stupidly slow at this game. I don't have all the golden keychains afaik but I have all the ones I can get through hormal collecting (unless playing as King Dedede lets you get new ones), and I got all the sun stones so I got all the special levels unlocked, and I am pretty sure it took me well over 6 hours.

Edit: And in case it isn't clear, I'm not including playing the game as King Dedede since I didn't do that yet.

No no no, i didn't go crazy with collecting. I just went through the story. I'm usually crazy into collecting everything, but i didn't want to linger on the game in general because i have a backlog to get through.

If i were to go back and get the few sun stones i missed or all the key chains then I'd be playing for a few more hours.

But just straight story is about 6 if you want to breeze through.

Yes, I just bought both on sale Poke Diamonds packages for Rumble World. Don't judge me.
As long as you don't judge me because I paid $40 for Pokemon Rumble Blast, never finished it, and traded it in to GS for about $5.

I refuse to spend money on Pokemon Rumble World because to me the redeeming factor is that it's free. If I spend money, I am losing.

Don't have a Wii, but this would've been hilarious to have.

Honestly, the two sale packages are a decent value buy for this game. You can get at least 6 balloons and several power ups with the diamonds and unlike Shuffle, the purchases are permanent. The power ups will always be in effect and your balloons won't go away after using them once. It's a way better deal than Shuffle

plus you can buy 30 bucks worth of diamonds and never have to buy another thing ever in the game (also if you do buy the 30 buck you will get 20 free diamonds a day + other perks

i did the 200 for 2 bucks i doubt i will ever need more, unless they add more worlds, playing around 30 mins at a time is good enough for me. Sucks the baloons take 3 hours to reload

The higher balloon levels and Stat trees take a lot of diamonds to unlock.

Does anyone know if I buy a digital game will I get coins for club Nintendo? (Wanna get Mario kart 7) I need 10 more coins for a free game but none of the new games I've bought have any.
