Thanks for the tip. It took a few resets, but it worked.

Getting a Thwomp, Lakitu, and boomerang only took me a few minutes. I tried it twice and got slightly different results; the first time the Thwomp went over first and the other two needed a bit more work, while the second time had all three go over at once.

 
Hrmmmmm... in case I can't get an SE.. GCU doesn't work on Digital Downloads.  What's the cheapest way to get the entirety of FE:Fates? (Birthright, Conquest, Revelations, Map Pack)

Dang! I found it.  Best Buy.  Weird that it didn't show up for me in the cart.  So it drops it to 79... but no release delivery.  Best it offers is 19th for $15.  Dang.  Maybe I should have done it while I was in store.

Mine says shipped but the tracking says "Awaiting UPS pick-up" looks like it might manage to get here by Friday.

 
FYI Badge Arcade today introduces the Fire Emblem chars.  And a free play!  (wish I didn't use 4 free plays yesterday.. woulda been helpful but you can't bank'm)

The Dreamcast theme has finally bern released and I now don't need another 3DS theme ever again.

...unless they pull a Master System and put out the Japanese version of the theme, then I'm screwed.

Back in the day I remember a few of the local video rental places had imported & converted copies of Japan's SMB2 and it was garbage compared to what we got. Just more of the same with no leap in quality. USA-SMB2 was a huge leap in graphics for the NES which lead to SMB3 being yet another massive leap with the overworld and actual game graphics.

Had Japan SMB2 came out instead, It would have made the leap to SMB3 that much bigger, but then it probably wouldn't have sold well which probably would have made Nintendo rethink making more games in the series. I don't think it would have tanked the industry as the industry was filled some great third party publishers & devs making some of the game series that would also span from the NES to today's consoles. Stuff like Metal Gear, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, & Mega Man. Still, it could have hurt Nintendo financially.

You do know that the US version of SMB2 was basically a reskinned version of Doki Doki Panic, right? It wasn't a Mario game to begin with.

Actually, from what I've read recently about it, it did indeed start life as a Mario title in Japan, and they reskinned it to Doki Doki Panic for some kind of contest.

Huh, you can not like something and that's ok. But I, too, play Badge Arcade every day.

And in case someone is on the fence. There has not been a SINGLE (so far) reference to Awakening in Fates. I believe you can unlock a couple of their characters in your Castle with the Amiibo's but that's about it.

 
Today's practice catcher is BS. I cleared all but one in one turn but the last badge got stuck. It was literally impossible to get it out of position. Hopefully we still have a few days on these Fire Emblem badges.

I got all of them.. I need a good background theme. I went for all Black. But there isn't an even number of badges for each group so it looks kind of weird on the screen. (and very small)

 
The one thing I really dislike about the badge arcade is that some badges are impossible to get on 1 go....some require up to 3 to get to them. I know it's F2P with 5 goes for a dollar, but it just feels like it artificially makes some way harder than they should be to get. Every time I get a super bonus win for 3 plays I think carefully about which crane machines I can get all of them or at least to the one I really want that is impossible to get with 1 or 2 plays.

I do something similar. If I just have 1 free play, I'll usually pick a badge that will only require 1 play. If I win a bunch of plays, whoo, time to try to clear a board or something.

I've given the game $6 or so I think. Bought a few themes.

 
Xiaomu also calls Chun-Li out on being the only active Interpol agent, which is why Carmen Sandiego keeps getting away. She also wishes that someday she'll be made of polygons instead of pixels.

EDIT: Argh, I can't believe I missed that one, but Xiaomu also manages to reference the Cheetahmen game from Action 52 in one scene.

Got AVGN for $5, it's definitely worth that. It lives up to its source material, though, it loves to say "fuck you you're dead" a lot. I grew up on 8-bit platformers so it doesn't turn me off but a few of the bosses and levels are pretty infuriating.
