Nice to see the rumor posted over a week ago turned out to be true. Nice to see that it's coming with a wireless headset as well.
 
People saying that this isn't that great of a bundle don't forget the WL headset is still pretty pricey. Plus these two games are GREAT. I think this bundle would sell the **** outta the 360.
 
Actually I don't think it does come with the wireless headset. It only says it does on the Kotaku post. It does not say anything about a wireless headset in the Joystiq post or the Major Nelson source post. Looks like Kotaku is "throwing their credibility out the window" again :)

All in all I am glad to see this bundle if only for the inevitable sub $10 copy of Fable 2 that I will be able to pick up used at Gamestop by late summer or fall once the market is flooded with trade-ins from the bundle.

Yeah I think you're right. I think it may be a typo on their part but eh who knows. I just hope the two games aren't packaged in one box, I hate those 2 game boxes. So ugly!
 
I also doubt that a wireless headset is included. There doesn't seem to be any sort of indication on the front of the box in the picture, which you would think they would want to put on there. Major Nelson's post also didn't mention it, and it just seems like too generous of a pack-in. Sure, it would be great if it were part of the bundle, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
 
What a great bundle. ~$80(estimated value, they aren't worth retail right now) for both Halo 3 and Fable 2 and a free $60 headset as well... I wish I didn't get my 360 back in February... Maybe I could have waited until now. Just that headset makes me want to buy the bundle.

Yeah, gonna have to jump on the negativity bandwagon and agree that it doesn't seem like there will be a wireless headset. Oh, well. This is still a good bundle. It has two AAA games.
 
One nice choice of these games from Microsoft's perspective is that both games have DLC, so it may spur the purchase of XBLM cards either at time of purchase or another time.

Game Crazy is going to add a little extra. They are going have a sale when you buy an elite you also get Star Wars: Force Unleashed and two $18.99 or less games. This deal also works with the elite bundles. So...if you wait you can get: an elite 360, SW:FU, two $19 games, Halo 3, and Fable 2....that's 5 games in all!!
I don't remember the exact dates...but I will edit this post later and plug it in.
 
I definitely think I will be doing this since my 360 is now out of warranty and having issues from time to time. But I'll wait for Dell to have it for like $320 then I can sell both Halo 3 and Fable 2 since I have both games already.
 
Why are people talking about Fable 2 like you can find it $25 brand new. If you are just assuming shut up and if it is please provide some links of where I can find the game so cheap

It depends where they're buying the game. Obviously no retail store will have it for that price but Ebay/Craigslist, it's certainly possible.

And if you can find a Target that still has it, they have the CE on clearance for VERY cheap.

Here is my dilemma, my 360 Pro just died last night, got the replacement plan from BB but they are not getting any of the Elite GOTY bundles until May 17th!!!! It says Pre-Order on their website!I have a gift card with $370.00 approx on it just waiting to be spent on one of the new bundles but I hafta wait almost 3 weeks to get it! Damn, and the Gamestop at the Mall in Holyoke, MA has a bunch of these systems just waiting to be bought :bomb:....btw the GS website says that there are no Elite bundles within 100 miles of my Zip Code but I was just there and saw the bundles on sale myself so if anyone around here wants one tonight hit them up!

I work at Best Buy and they were originally street dated in the system for the 17th however they are no longer street dated in the system. We received some tonight on our truck. We can sell them as soon as we receive them now. They are fairly limited it appears for the 1st shipment at least. But if your store didn't have them they may have them this week. Good Luck.
 
great bundle, but people rating the product when they don't even have it (on best buy page). Sort of annoying. Anyway, if I didn't have 2 360's already, i'd probably jump on this.
 
here's the truth people. it is not worth buying period. only elite worth getting is the resident evil 5 limited edition and that is because it has the jasper chipset. The goty edition bundle is just like the lego indiana jones/kung fu panda bundle except they swapped the games out. No stores i've come across are selling the goty bundle yet. They are flushing out the old systems first and then they'll start selling the new bundle. Good luck. Do what I did. Get a newer 360 arcade for $199 and it has a jasper chipest and also buy a 120gb hd used for $100 (-10% with gamestop edge card) and you save $100. You can get the hdmi cable and component filter box thing for about $20 or less if u have the edge card. After that, get any headset of your choice separate if you'd like and you're set to go. I got rid of my elite and did what I stated above and am glad I did.

what does the jasper chipset do? Does it reduce the chance of RROD?/(System failure)?
