Got an email from Toys R Us about their DS deals. They are offering the DS Lite with Brain Age for $129 (with a coupon from 6/14 to 6/19), just like BB/CC/Walmart.

The email also had a link for a coupon for $5 off any DS game:
http://www7.toysrus.com/our/tru/prom/2006nintendocoupon/5index.cfm
THIS COUPON IS GOOD FROM 6/11 THRU 6/30

Apparently, once you print the coupon, it won't yet you print another one (probably puts a cookie on your PC).

Hope this helps someone

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but the barcode and SKN for the coupon changes each time you load it.

Load the page once in Firefox, and then again in IE and compare. Both different. With this said, I assume that means 10 copies of the exact same coupon probably won't work over and over again.

Anyone else notice this? Or actually, has anyone yet to try using their same exact coupon over and over and it still go through at checkout?

Edit: Rather, it seems to be happening sometimes and not all the time... I have two different coupons, but re-loading the page in Firefox continously churns out the same coupon over and over. T_T
The corporate memo said it will take effect as of today, although it's advertised as starting tomorrow. That's as much as i can tell you. I already worked today, but may stop back up before i go to my other job to pick up a few games. Got a slow night tonight at the TV station and sure would like to pass the time productively.
Anyone know what some other 19.99 TRU DS titles are?

I agree I am going to TRU in the next 25 mins but i'm not really sure what I'm looking for. Do they have any good prices on DS games?

There ya go!
Coupon works great. Got Feel the Magic for $4.99 plus tax. Thanks again for the coupon.
SONOFA B....

i just bought FTM from Overstock. price wasn't bad but i ordered an hour before i saw this thread, and we all know you can't cancel at OS.

oh well, i'll just use the coupon for something else!

Thanks. Got Mario Kart back after selling my MK bundle to get a Lite, and picked up Castlevania as well since it's getting harder to find.

So, is it possible to buy 2 DS games for $30 and still used $5 off coupon toward the purchase? If so, 2 games for $25 will rock my pants off.
It "officially" starts tomorrow according to the email and only runs for 3 days, but it unofficially starts today, per the announcement on the corporate network.

And this is for all $19.99 and under games.
The TRU @ Times Square in NYC definitely did NOT go for this.

I intended to buy Brain Age and Big Brain Academy - 2 for $30 - and add Feel The Magic XY/XX for $10 -$5 coupon for a total of $35.

Although very friendly, the sales person who rang me up called his manager as soon as I showed him the coupon without even trying to scan it. The manager took one look at the coupon and rejected it saying, "This is a copy, I can't take this." I argued, "It came from your website. If I didn't print it out, how could I show it to you?" She retorted, "If it won't scan, there's nothing I can do." I countered, "He didn't even try to scan it!" So scanned it was and Feel The Magic XY/XX was mine!

Then I tried to get the Brain games - 2 for $30... don't even get me started on that. No go! The friendly sales dude advised, "Come back tomorrow."

I replied to the friendly sales associate and his manager as she was scrawling on the back of my lovely crappy coupon printout, "And by the way. My name is Jeremy. It was nice to meet you! See you tomorrow!" and walked away with a smile ear to ear.

:D

i was considering buying a game today when i dropped by TRU, looking for any copies of trauma center. good thing though since i can now use this coupon, i'm deciding whether to get advance wars DS, castlevania, or maybe mario kart. i need something with a bit more replay value than what i already have with NSMB and brain age.

where do you go to signup for these deals...also is the 2-$30 going to be posted anywhere like in their weekly ad or will the workers there just know about it?

Big Brain Academy has never been more tempting.... xD they try to stop people from printing it, my computer says Print X amount of copies so I dont ever have to clear the cookies if I dont want to.

Though every $$$ off coupon is good this deal is only worth it if you can find a DS game under $19.99. I say this, like most CAG's would, because you can easily obtain a $5 off coupon any $19.99 title with the GGC at Best Buy.

I'm surprised no one has thought of photocopying it, heh.

triforcer - I just played a couple of missions of Advance Wars, and it's quite good so far, especially if you like turn based strategy. I'm not used to humor of this sort in my TBS game, so it's a welcome treat. So far they also do a pretty good job of tutoring during gameplay. And I gather from reviews that it's a long game, so I'll think you'll get your money's worth.

I needed a break from my action games, and this fits the bill nicely. Recommended.

Okay, I give. What does GGC stand for?

Sorry.

for replay value, I love tony hawk.. i mean its the same gameplay you've come to love and its infinately replayable, the levels are big and it is very fun and the graphics are pretty good.. should cost you around 15 after coupon.. other games i would suggest, Bomberman, tetris, Metroid Pinball.

Gamer Gift Card. it's a gift card tailored to video games (ie: to give to a gamer as a gift) that has an attached $5.00 off coupon for any title $19.99 and up (i think....).

game gift card= GGC... Best buy used to have these that would yeild 5 dollars off of a game purchase.. i'm not certain if they have discontinued them (by discontinue i mean stop selling them) check your Best buy and check the gift card section for "game gift cards"

Just picked up bba ,ask for my phone number.
Do they keep track of who uses the coupon? Can I use it again?

Just give a different phone number.

Is Castlevania getting harder to find? How much does TRU sell it for?

And what are the prices on Tony Hawk and Viewtiful Joe? Be nice if someone had a list of the $19.99 games.

They ask for your phone number so you can get on their mailing lists. You can always say your phone number is unlisted and not give it to them.

sure those are TRU? when i worked there, non-clearance ended in a 9.

Feel free to throw things at me, but I messed up. The 2 for $30 is actually a coupon as well. The way it was made out, I assumed it would be an unadvertised deal. I'm attempting to get this coupon as I type this, but TRU switched to some stupid e-centives system and it won't install on my pc for some reason.

The $5 off coupon says it can be combined, so here's hoping that the 2 for $30 says the same.

I used to work there years ago and for the most part the pattern holds true.

Items ending in
9 - original price
8 - clearance price
7 - closeout price
5 - started using awhile back seems to be for price drops. The item is not clearance, but the price has been adjusted down for good.

If they stack I won't be able to pass on viewtiful joe and monkey ball for $25...

Thanks for the coupon, sp00ge! What do you recommend I say when the manager gives me the 9th degree tomorrow when I try to use the coupon and asks where I got it from?
Sorry guys... I ended up finding the coupon for the 2 for $30 and that is not valid with any other R Us offer. You're all still welcome to try at your locations though. I'm still gonna give it a shot. Here's a link:

And in a vain attempt to redeem myself, here's another couone that may work at some stores:

awesome man, even if the 2 for 30 cannot be combined with the other coupon, it's still a great post! thanks!!

Which one? The 2 for $30? That was part of when you sign up for the mailing list, you get special offers like that in your email from time to time. The $5 off of $25, I believe, is a scan of a birthday mailer coupon, so you may have trouble with them taking a copy of that one.

A little off topic but for anyone looking for Advance Wars: Dual Strike, you can get a copy of it for $19.99 at Kaybee Toys. I did so a couple of months back.

Back on topic, thanks for the coupon posts. I'll definitely be buying something today!
