No one's talking NPD numbers, which just came out.

Highlights
- GTAIV on 360 is #1
- Mario Kart Wii beats Wii Fit for #2
- PS3 hardware > 360 hardware
- Wii destroys children's souls
- 7 of the Top 10 Software games were on a Nintendo platform (3 non were GTA, GTA and Iron Man for PS2)

Man, fuck other people. I have Metal Gear Solid 4!

And Jer, open that shit. You know you're going to, eventually. The only reason I wouldn't open it is if there's literally nothing slated for the PS3 that you have interest in... in which case, the $499 or whatever it is is an awful lot for a single game. But it is a really, really, really good game.

Someone mentioned Disgaea 3 earlier, and I just saw the preview of it...ahaaha. It just makes me wonder what Disgaea 4 will have...billion hit combos? Level 9999999? Dual tower castle siege attacks? Rape sim?!?

And all with the same PS2, SNES-looking graphics engine from the original Disgaea.
I kid, :) I like Disgaea

alright, I opened it..

Might be nice to play FFXIII..

Good lord how long does it take to update this thing

but the good thing is that it downloads only the nessary things (since mine always stops at 50% or so)

I got a backlog I need to finish up. Just got Assassin Creeds from Gamefly and played that for about an hour and a half, am in chapter 4 for Ninja Gaiden 2, still need to finish GTA, and I just bought MGS4. Will be getting a good amount of time to game this weekend tho.

Thanks for all the TV suggestions guys. I don't think I'll be getting anything much over 40" as the room just isn't that big that it'll be going in.

This TV seems like a great bang for buck. CNet loves the line (though they only reviewed the 32" from the "entry level")

I don't think 1080p is a real necessity in a 40" and under screen, and it'll save some scratch.

Put the requisite half hour into my free rentals tonight, gotta get them back to BB tomorrow.

Battle of the Bands - surprisingly fun, awesome music. Music player from the main menu is win.

Boom Blox - also surprisingly fun, usually I don't get much playtime out of puzzle games, but I could see myself blowing through the adventure mode in there in a hurry.

Two games for a rainy day!

Speaking of Disgaea , I'm curious as to how the DS port of the first game is gonna turn out. I passed on the original PS2 version and got the PSP version since it was supposed to be better but I really don't wanna re-buy the game again unless it's significantly better , which seems unlikely. I'm also wondering why it's taking them so damn long to announce the seemingly inevitable Disgaea 2 deluxe for the PSP.

And speaking of rentals , I have my copy of spyro : the eternal night for the gba still sitting in it's gamefly envelope unplayed cause I've been trying to finish Phoenix Wright 2 , which hasn't been going well.

I think it's mostly a straight port of Afternoon of Darkness, but with a couple new characters and touch screen. There's supposedly some minor new added dialog too.
I saw 10 people online at once on the PSN today. They were all playing MGS4(SUPERSHOCK).
There are usually 1 or 2 people online.
My list normally has an average of 10 people on per night. Right now, it's at around 15-20. I've had those nights with 30 people online at once. Part of the reason my list is good because I spent a LOT of time trying to put together a good list. ;)

Well, I was first in line yesterday for the MGS4 PS3 bundle at the midnight opening. There was only about 20 people or so there, so we had a good time. They even made a couple of the employees that wanted the bundle stand in the back of line.

I haven't had a chance to play it much since I'm still up in Kentucky at my parent's house, but I played a bit of my brother's (he got a bundle too). Wow. Cannot fucking wait to get this back home and hook it up.

My gamestop prolly still has lotsa copies of the LE... they had like 8-10 when I got there this morning, and I was the only person waiting for the store to open.

Everyone else is a nub

I don't think I like the Solid Eye.

There's a guy far away - I want to know if I should shoot him or not.
Sometimes I see small test, sometimes I see nothing.
If I do see the small text, I have to figure out which side Militia is on.
If he is militia, will he raise an alarm if he sees me, or will he not care?
Arg.

Text is in red for PMC, blue for militia...

I fuckin' love the downtime in this game (also called mission briefings). Love it. Lets me see more of the characters' personalities. It's like Kojima read my mind.

Both were showing up red for me.

Edit: Surround sound is great in MGS4. Soooo worth the $$$.
Beat Crisis Core tonight and played a bit more Burnout Paradise. Good times. :)

Everyone enjoying MGS4?
I am!
You musta taken like... no breaks at all. Wow.

I got the game at midnight last night, then played till 7:30am. Slept till 1pm, got up, took a shower, and started again and just finished not too long ago. Random breaks, but yeah...

Did you take your time or just go through it quickly?

I feel as though I'm takin' my sweet time... moreso than in any other MGS. I'm really being stealthy, particularly cause it's so fun to use the camo system and hide.

And I'm stunned by how many ways there are to approach a situation.

This is also like... the prettiest game ever. It looks like CG from time to time.

Seriously, as a hardcore MGS fan, I couldn't have asked for more than this.

I'll answer... and say that I did rush a tiny bit but to be honest not really since I died alot at one part. actually a few parts.

Still don't know what I think of it as a game, but as a story, amazing.

so to answer:

no, but I think everyone who plays the game and has some heart will have a ton of respect for him when they beat the game.

I died near the beginning ;)
I decided to run at the tank (jeez he runs friggin' slow ) and got shot up, went through three rations, went through at least 20 guys, and then got shot in the back and died while listening to J-pop on the iPod. I'm assuming there's no way to setup your own music on that thing eh? Either way, the iPod idea is kick ass :D

Man, I'm so jonesing for some MGS4 tonight. I have to keep reminding myself though that this is a stealth game first and that there's no need to rush through the missions.
Is the ending amazing?
it's not what I'd say as amazing but more like a very damn good and complete wrap up of all stories... and yes I will admit it, I got choked up a few times in the game but cried (as in a few tears) at the end.

art$$$, right?

I can't remember the last game that got me choked up. Not that I'm not that kind of person, though--there's always some movie or whatever that I'll get caught up in. Nothing wrong with feeling or expressing human emotions.
