NOTES

-Any deal that includes price-matching is obviously YMMV. Depending on what store you go to they might be prickly about a deal that involves both coupons AND pricematching. I know that the Target I shop at will allow me to do deal #1, but other people will have various success. IT'S UP TO YOU to decide whether it's worth venturing out to your local Target/Best Buy to see if you can successfully get deals 1-2, or whether you don't mind spending extra money for the convenience of Amazon.

-If you do deal #1, you will need a physical copy of the weekly ad from Best Buy showing that store's prices in order to pricematch. These ads can probably be found in your Sunday newspaper.

-I did not include any Amazon deals that involve the "Snow White Thanks" promo as that is exclusive to a select few people.

-I did not include any deals at Wal-Mart as their B&M prices for Up and Monsters Inc are still unknown.

-I did not include any deals from Toys R Us because, well, they don't have any good deals. This thread is about the best out of pocket prices.

-I did not include any deals with a $10 Disney manufacturer's coupon for Up because it is still unknown whether that coupon actually exists.

-YES, TARGET DOES PRICEMATCH

ADDITIONAL REBATES

-$4 MIR for purchasing Up + qualifying Ronzoni products.

-$5 MIR for purchasing Up + qualifying Kernel products.

-$5 MIR for purchasing Up + qualifying Birds Eye products.

-$10 OFF at Amazon when you purchase Up and a second qualifying Blu-Ray.

If you know of any more, please post them here so I can add them.

If you see any errors or have anything else to add, please feel free to let me know.
The point is that the price at BB is 28.99 not 18.99. If you PM the 21.96 then the system will still take off the $10 for buying both. That would make the Monster Inc. price $11.96 instead of $18.99, There computer does not care if there is a price match, it will just look that both titles have been bought together. I PM a Boy and His Blob with Fry's and when they scanned the coupon the screen came up with the GC offer. With the $8 off Disney coupon it makes this a better deal than before at BB.
Any price adjustments or price matches may not allow the bundle pricing to work.

BB's registers are very picky and doing a PM usually screws up any bundle pricing or anything like that. Coupons don't work when there's a price adjustment or a PM done on an order.

I just sent amazon customer service an email about the $8 off manufacturer's coupon to see if they can apply it against my order...figured what the hell it's worth a chance...

EDIT:

Damn, I got one of the offshored customer service reps that isn't as friendly...DENIED!!!

Hmmm, I wonder if I can try to send another email with the above response that was successful, to show that some people are getting the deal, and see if that can convince them to see it my way...

Most people have reported that BB doesn't ask for the steelbook back.

I just gave it a shot also will post back when and if I get a reply.

UPDATE:
I got denied also but I resent the e-mail with a link to the offer on www.disneymovierewards.com and also told them I know people were able to get the discount applied.

Option #1 sounds near-impossible for me. Getting my Target to pricematch AND stack 2 coupons? I don't think so.... Option #2 completely ignores tax, which I won't pay at Amazon, making it the best option price-wise (and naturally much more convenient). Plus I'm with Shrike in guessing that we'll see another price drop on Monsters at Amazon before Tues.

Yeah I was going to go with the TRU offer because I have a $33.00 gift card for there plus the $8.00 off coupon for Monsters Inc. But I ended up going with Amazon once they added the code for $10.00 off another movie and ended up getting three movie for $44.00. Plus its great knowing now I dont have to go out on Tuesday after waiting inline the night before for COD4:MW2.

I have PM and gotten the discount before. I agree that it might be a YMMV but the system just looks for the two SKU for the pop up window to appear. The pop up window only comes up after the cashier hit the total button. I will say that you need to get them to PM before you give them any coupons or RZ certificates. The reason on the RZ certificates if you look at the receipt it lowers the "retail" price on the item.

UPDATE #2:

After sending them the link to the offer they took the $8.00 right off my order making my new total for 3 movies (Up, Monsters Inc., and Sleeping Beauty) $36.00.

Success! Persistence pays off. With my second email to them, I got the following response:

Up and Monsters Inc. on Blu Ray for $24.98, still with free super saver shipping too, LOL!

Never hurts to send them an email. Worst is, they say no.

Here's what I sent them:
Currently, Disney is offering an $8 manufacturer coupon for the purchase of Monsters Inc. on BluRay. Unfortunately, the coupon is a printed coupon for purchase at a brick-and-mortar retailer, and there is no Amazon coupon code. Target is offering a $10 discount on the purchase of both Up and Monsters Inc, as well as the use of the $8 coupon from Disney, and Best Buy will be offering the same $10 discount on the purchase of both movies and the use of the $8 coupon.

This is a link to the coupon on the Disney site:
http://disney.go.com/disneymovierewards/monstersupgrade/?int_cmp=dmov_dmr_msg_monstersupgrade

I wanted to know if I could get the value of the $8 coupon applied to the purchase price of Monsters Inc, so I could get the value of the coupon. With the discounts that would be offered from Best Buy or Target with the $10 package discount and the use of the $8 coupon, it would be a cheaper price than from Amazon.com. I would appreciate if this $8 discount could be applied to this order, so I would be able to keep my order at Amazon and get the best price possible for these two items.
Nice to see others are getting the discount applied on the order. Assuming they do it, then I'm done emailing them over the prices.

Also tried to see if I could get any luck. Thanks for sharing your magic, Shrike!

Thank you for including your write-up shrike.

I used the same basic format as yours but changed some phrasing and words around so it wasn't identical. Hopefully I will have success with the discount as well.

Just curious, when you guys send these e-mails, what do you label them as? I usually choose Returns & Refunds, though I suppose this particular one could also be considered Gift Cards & Promotional Offers.

I think I got $10 off of Monster Inc. instead of $8 with the email. :D

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us about the $8 and $10 promotion offered by Disney and Target.

I've checked our website regarding the $10 promotion offered by target and I'm sorry the promotion was not applied to your order.

To correct this error, I've reduced the cost of your order by $10 and reduced the item cost of Monsters by $10.

The revised the order details are as follows:

Subtotal: $53.97
Shipping & Handling: $4.96
Total Promotions Applied: - $24.96
Tax: $0.00
--------------
Order Total: $33.97
--------------
Regarding the $8 promotion by Disney:

Up + Monster Inc. + Sleeping Beauty = $33.97
I love Amazon.

Got the $8 email reply noted above. However, Monsters Inc got marked down to $12.99 which seems to imply the price was dropped by $10. $22.98 after a couple emails, not bad. I'm thrilled to get these for $11.49 each, no tax.

I guess I'm going the BB way since I haven't ordered these on Amazon.

#2 - Best Buy
-Pricematch the bestbuy.com price for Up, pay the BB special price for Monsters Inc
-($19.99 + $18.99 = $38.95)
-Apply the Monsters Inc coupon
-($38.98 - $8)
-Total = $30.98

And minus the $7.50 I put done for the Steelbook brings me to $23.48 if I can get them to PR there own site. So $11.74 for each is ok with me I guess.

Got denied with the following and have emailed them again:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us with your question about applying the $8 promotion which you received from Disney.

I'm sorry to inform you that currently it's not possible to apply the $8.00 promotion coupons issued by Disney.

I would like to inform you that we accept the promotion coupons that are issued by Amazon.com retail store. In this case you may contact the Disney for more information about the coupon.

Sigh. You cannot deduct the $7.50 you put down for the deposit.

That money came out of your pocket, regardless if you pre-ordered the movie a week ago, a month ago, or whenever. That $7.50 should be factored into the final price.

denied by Balaji K.

read on other forums that some people were also getting an additional $10 off for ordering snow white so i sent off another email asking about that promo and the disney promo. made a point to mention i know people that have had both promos applied to their orders and would like to be treated equally. hopefully i get a nicer CS rep this time.

I got denied as well. I think I'm done with it, though. Between following this thread, tracking the prices on amazon, firing off emails, at some point my time has to become worth more than the $8 :)

everyone keep trying, any email you send after the first two end up going to a tier two customer support rep, then the next level after so many emails. I've had to email them four times about my order and the last one was replied to by a tier three guy ( according to his reply at least )

the higher up guys probably have more options for discounting orders than the lower guys.

I couldn't find any info about $10 Up coupon from Disney coming Tuesday, so here it is:

alot of work being done for this deal with Amazon. I'm still banking on the best deal being a combination of B&M with the printouts of Monsters and Up coupons

No.

It's very possible but with all the coupons applied, everyone will be able to get paid for getting those two movies. However, since the $10 coupon for UP is now confirmed, I might cancel my Amazon order to get away from the hassle to convince them to apply the other millions of coupons.

I guess I'm not entirely convinced that the coupon is confirmed.... the posting I've seen that confirmed it seemed like maybe the CSR didn't know what they were talking about. I guess my opinion is it's kinda like... I have a cousin whose hairdresser's garbage man said there's going to be a coupon.

Hoping for one.. but not holding my breath.

I have a feeling we may see a coupon like the deal that amazon is doing.. 10 bucks off another disney blu with exclusions to which it works with...

the other thing that doesnt make sense is the last 4 coupons (prolly longer but I know the last 4) that disney has put out have come out at least 2 weeks before release date.... so I'm very skeptical about getting one for 10 bucks off UP

I asked Disney for more details on the coupon, and got this:

Michael,

Thank you for your e-mail regarding our coupon offers. We appreciate your interest.

This particular coupon will be for the purchase of the movie on Blu-ray or on DVD. For furthur information please visit www.disneypixarupcoupon.com on November 10th!

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reply to this email.

Hmm up coupon + Monters inc coupon + target $10 off coupon + price match = both movies for $14 that sounds to good to be true.
