I can't believe this....

Somebody just sent me an invisible item... a HACK...

It was sent in a blank letter with just my name on it ( and only said "From" ).

When i opened the present attached, it was furniture...the leaf icon... and was called "red tulips" ( which would normally be shown as a flower icon ). When i tried placing this item in my house, it VANISHED! I've heard about this sort of thing messing up the gate, so i got paraniod and just powered off....

This happened twice so far... ( this letter was waiting for me every time i arrived back in my town after visiting someone over wifi ) ...I was able to get photos the second time around:

So far, i dont see any effects of this.... my gate was still there when i turned the game back on.

'What sucks the most is my list is compiled of CAG posters ONLY. You guys are rad; I'd really hate to think one of you would do something like this o.0

I've cut my list down... again... just to be on the safe side. If i haven't met you in-game within the last month or so, then i'll be removing you, sorry.

Let this serve as a caution to those who encounter similar things in their game... Be careful, guys....

Various users on our forums have reported receiving glitchy red tulips in the mail after connecting to the Nintendo WFC.

After using wifi, a letter shows up in your mailbox. The title of this letter is garbled characters, and it is usually blank when read. There is a present attached. When you unwrap it, you will find a furniture leaf called "red tulips" inside. However, if you put it in your house, it disappears and cannot be picked up again. You cannot put furniture in the spot where you dropped the glitchy tulip.

However, if you drop the tulip outside, it can be planted anywhere in the town, including the stones in front of your house. If you pick the flower up again after it is planted, it seems to become a normal red tulip again (and will have the properties of a normal red tulip).

We don't know if there are any other negative effects of this tulip, but we recommend deleting the letter or restarting immediately if you've placed the tulip in your house."

vgamergirl, I got this tulip letter after you left my town, I placed the tulips and saved(I am a rebel). No negative side effects so far. lol

Thanks for the info. I haven't gotten such a letter yet (was in someone's town last night but haven't played today yet), but will delete ASAP if I do!

I also got the "red tulips". I guess someone found out how to send an item to everyone or something of the sort. Thanks for the warning, I decided I'd rather reset and deal with Resetti rather than deal with problems with my game later on.

Does anyone have any backyard items for trade/sale or any fossils for trade/sale?
 
This is ridiculous. Leave it to some stupid bitch with too much time aside from jacking off to do stuff like this in an attempt to mess things up for players. I guess this is one more reason why Nintendo really emphasized not giving out your codes to just anyone :bomb:

Looks like it was from Nintendo and they are working on a fix for people who put the tulips in their house. I guess it was supposed to be a special item like the coin.
 
From the articles that I have read, it shouldn't from any CAG, and like io posted, Nintendo may have accidentally sent a bugged item. But it's possible that posting our friend codes online may pose a risk. I don't know exactly what we should do about this though, as there could be a real hacker waiting to attack us. I was thinking to take down friend codes, and just post our ACWW name/town, and use the pm system to exchange friend codes. This can reduce the possibility of being attacked.

I'd like to know what you people think
 
I did not get the letter.
Opened my gates, and tried to go out.

Hopefully this doesnt screw anyone's town over. I know i would be VERY pissed and a bit saddened.
 
Sooo... Anyone have good turnip prices? I'm willing to pay if you let me sell in your town, I have 1900 turnips that need selling, and I think Funkland's Stalk Market like crashed or something, It's been 40-50 bells all week... Not good looking with 1 day left...
 
Sounds good, Currently I have an offer at 179 bells per turnip, It's a decent price but I know there is a much higher potential.

Can anyone hook me up with robo furniture? I need all except for the couch, tv, and dresser. I can get online anytime in the next hour or so if you can, please pm me or post in here ill be looking at this thread.

I got on a little but no kitten in my town. I turned off the wandering cat and will try again later (maybe bump up a day to see if she comes back). I didn't have enough time to play around with that any more before I need to get out of here. I'll try it again late tonight (10pm or so) and see if I can find her, then find you!

Today I am holding a small "game" in Funkland, feel free to stop by and try to find a few items that i've "hidden" in my town I am opening my gates at 11:00EST, so if you want to find the good things, stop in first!

Items included:
Master Sword :drools:
Tabletop Game
Arcade Game
Bells
Lucky Gold Cat

It's a game so there are plenty of "annoyances" in the way (spent weeks saving these things up)

Over 200,000 bells in prizes :0 (let's just say a friend of mine had insane turnip selling prices, added with the number of turnips i've had = lots of cash + the catalogs of friends, = this idea...)


Oh yes, if you couldn't tell by now, bring a shovel!

Busy morning, this morning! I gave LYle two paintings, went to Margie;s birthday party (gave her a bear pole, she gave me a robo table! Yes!), and now I'm waiting for Biskit to come over. I also built a perfect snowman and I'll have to harvest my coconuts. I also got 8500 bells from my rock.

And fossil searching- gotta do that too.

But, a big wtf- I've shot down THREE present so far. That's a lot!
 
Everything is gone by now, thanks for playing! I may do it soon, once I pay off Nook and get some more pitfalls, heh

My girlfriend, in a feat which shall go down in the AC record books, caught six, I shit you not, SIX Stringfish within and hour earlier today.


And I thought my catching two coelecanths within 15 minutes was impressive...
