AC:WW Discussion Thread - Visits/Trades/etc.

OK, leenie, or anyone who has successfully gone through the perfect town deal, I'm a little pissed tonight, maybe you can help. I had perfect town status for about a week. Then I got a bunch of stuff tonight and had no where to put it but on the ground. So I checked with Pelly to see what was up and my town has gone "unperfect" but NOT because of the stuff - she is telling me I have too many trees! I haven't planted a tree ALL WEEK! The only thing I can think of (after I picked everything up and it didn't change) was that she really means I have too many flowers! The only thing that could have changed was that more flowers showed up throughout the week. Didn't someone say that too many flowers can cause problems? So tomorow I will pull a few and see if it changes. But that is a bit frustrating to say the least.

Edit - OK, I removed about 4 flowers and that did the trick. I wonder if this starts the clock over again, or is it OK as long as you were perfect for at least part of each day?

Whoa, I just found out that I fell asleep with my gates open. Needless to say, my battery died, so I'm not sure how long the gates were open for.

Edit: Sorry to everyone who had to deal with the rock "maze" with pitfalls. It was my way of trying to feel better after a bad day/week. There's something about seeing people fall into pitfalls that will cheer anyone up. :D

yay! i got my money tree to grow! grew 90k bells!!! i took 60k and planted antother 30k to try for another tree!

I planted 30k... and my luck is decent.. sont know if that helps...

the jack in the box is listed as a lucky item. I don't know why, but it is. It's lucky like the lucky cat/ivory piano/etc... so it's a good thing to have (check gamefaqs if you dont beleive me).

I have a few questions.

First off, when is a good time to pick my red turnip? I planted it last Sunday, soi should I pick it tomorrow?

Also, what arcade items are there? I really want a cool arcade room upstairs! I have the following in my upstairs right now:

Merry Go Round
Green Lava Lamp
Blue Lava Lamp
Hi-Fi Stereo
Dart Board
Billiard Table
Kitschy Clock
Mahjong Table
Tennis Table

Some items (like the merry go round and stereo) are just there so it doesn't look to bare. :x

Also, what wall and carpet would be fitting? I have no idea. :[

There's the arcade game and pinball game - you MUST get those!
And I think the robo-wall and floor look good for an arcade. Gives it that "pizza planet" space-age kind of look :D. And you could put that jack-in-the-box up there as it is an "interactive" item people can play with when visiting (unlike the arcade machine, ping pong, pool, etc).

By the way, I already have my upstairs set up sort of like this, but I might move it to my new right room that I should get today - the arcade needs more space!

i think the amount of money u plant also has an affect on the chances of growing... 30k is the highest u can go and is more likely than planting any other number...

So, I think I'll look for the following:

Jukebox
Arcade Game
Pinball Game
Tabletop Game

Also, the ball return and bowling pins might be a fun thing to have in there. And possibly replace the hifi stereo with the gold or high end stereo (or maybe a cheapy one if I need space!).

Oh, and I might order the barber pole to pu tin there. Hee hee.

Oh, I see. I planted 20k, and it was before I had my lucky cats. Thanks again, and hopefully this time it'll work!

Also, I just realized I have the robo floor and wall already since I'm trying to complete the Robo set (going pretty well) and the modern set (only have the chair, :x). It looks GREAT!

A candy machine is a good addition as well - I have one of those in mine. I'm looking to get a jukebox as well. It's a lucky item so it will have a dual purpose.

For the wallpaper and carpet, I'm currently going with cabana flooring (just had it to spare) and a custom Pac-Man/Ghost design I did at the Able's shop. I think getting a video game graphic you like and making a design out of that would give your arcade a unique look.

I just got the 2nd story addition and that is where I am building my arcade but it does seem a little too small.

I'm actually into the whole arcade thing also.

If you wanted, we could both exchange arcade items for one's we don't have.

SOME of what I have of what you may like is the pinball machine, arcade machine, ball return, should have bowling pins, and the table top table (if that's the ping pong one). Also I should have the candy machine along with the robo TV if your interested in those also. The only one I don't have from your list is the jukebox. But if you wanted me to order these for you, let me know and I'll deliver them whenever is good for you.

hey i want to start cataloging as many furniture sets as possible (as opposed to just the ones i want) so i can spruce up my neighbors homes. so if you have a set lets meet up. cmon, i iknow you guys have some.

I've been playing every day now for over a month. I have seen Gulliver fly by once but had the regular sling shot then and missed him. I've seen Gracie 3 times (though not in the last 4 weeks or so - she made 3 quick appearances right when I first started playing and I thought I'd see her frequently as a result), and Wendell twice (though also not since the very beginning). I have yet to see the one I *really* want to see, and that's Sahara. I want those lunar/ancient wall/floor pieces (and whatever else she has). And I keep missing Coelecanths - I know it's them because they are big (and in ocean during snow) and bite and run WAY faster than any other fish (tuna on the other hand, which are the same size, are easy to catch).

I've had the wandering cat turned off for about 3 weeks now but it hasn't seemed to help my visitor appearances (of course the stupid bright lights has ruined everything for a week). Now I have Mama cat back again looking for her kitten - Vietgurl, if you are still out there let me know when you want to bring her over!
 
I've had Wendell three times (gave me a brick pattern TWICE, darn it. And a country guitar), Gulliver once (Leaning Tower of Pisa!), Gracie twice (Modly shirt, second time I didn't know to pester her), Pascal once (Anchor), Sahara twice (Desert Floor and Ancient Tile), and Dr. Shrunk once.

As for rare fish, I've this is first time I've seen a coelacanth. Glad I caught it, but it had to go to the museum. I've never caught a Stringfish, but I have caught a Tuna.

I've had Shrunk twice, so I was able to add the laugh.

From gamefaqs:

I've caught several of them. It has a larger shadow than the sea bass, so anytime you see anything very large in the ocean go for it - most likely either a Tuna or Coelecanth. Tuna are not hard to catch - they seem to have the same window of opportunity as most fish, they just don't show up very often. The ccanth and some others though are a different story. I've had no problem catching Stringfish either (got 3 or 4 so far). I visited someone who is set to summer and I can tell you right now the sharks (which look cool by the way - fin sticks out of water!) are VERY hard to catch as well. I've missed about 4 so far :whistle2:(. They are gone with the bait before I even realize they bit. The difficulty with those is always compounded by the fact that since I'm in someone else's town there are wi-fi conversations going on and the "beeps" of the comms often trick me into pulling back the line too early :D. Yeah I know it's a completely different sound, but if I wait for my mind to process the sound it is too late.
 
Dammit Tom, I lost everything with that disconnect. I thought it saved when new people came in? I guess not. I hope it wasn't a problem just on my end (and thus you still have the stuff). I'm looking for you again :D.
 
Guess I spoke too soon about Gulliver. I've been playing every day since I got AC back in December, and this is the first time he's flown by.

Edit: Nevermind, they are starting to turn up. :)
