I saw the BBC version used at MovieStop for the same price, I'm kicking myself now.

Would someone want this at cost if I don't end up liking it?

Does the discount show up after your confirm your order? I'm trying to help a work friend with the order. Does the discount show up after you punch in your credit card number? She is scare that since the order will be final, that she'll be stuck paying the full amount. Can't seem to get the $50 off discount to show.

Add 2 to your cart then remove of of them it should show up
 
Cannot get the discount right now 6:30 pm central. My brother in law showed me this deal around 12:00 pm central and now that I am home I cannot get it :(

Any suggestions?
 
I can't get this to work. I tried adding to the set to my cart and checking out through Discovery and the coupon never showed up, even when "Submit Order" was at the bottom of the screen. I also went to Slickdeals.net and when I clicked the Discovery link it just brought me back to the Slickdeals home page. Any know how to get around this?

I ordered one but shipping was something like $3.25 for the cheapest and another $2.75 for CA tax. Total was still only about #35.xx. Good deal.
 
In for one! $33.20 shipped, i almost bought this on blu-ray, this week i picked up the hd-dvd player and planet earth hd-dvd for the price of the blu-ray!! life is good! thank you CAG and OP!

never mind, i just saw the review on high def digest, apparently the bbc version is superior in video quality! i think i rather pay an extra $10 for the bbc version. cancelled my order with discovery and getting the bbc version! have to have the better version. thx.
 
It is edited for time, shaving some content off. Some people like Attenborough over Weaver (not me).

It's resolutions are not the same as the BBC version.

However, if you watched this on the Discovery channel, at 720p and liked it you will be happy with this version. I watched a few episodes of this on Discovery and bought the HD-DVDs from BestBuy with the BBC version. I liked S.W.'s narration about the same (maybe a little better, so giving the edge in that regard to discovery) and as far as content goes I didn't notice much in terms of missing any to the editing (but if you want every second of the series then you'll prefer the BBC version).

I would order this myself but I purchased the BBC already and can't justify both for the narrator.
 
Ordered mine last night without a problem and even got the Discovery bonus DVD for $10 more. Shipping is no longer free though.........

I think the BBC HD version of the does not contain the extra features
"Planet Earth – The Future" but the US Discovery Channel version comes with this bonus 110 minutes disc.
 
Shipping is free again for anybody who didn't get in on this already. I talked myself out of buying it last night, and then checked again this morning, and noticed "free saver shipping on all hd-dvd's". $29.95 is my kind of price! I was going to add the "Best of Discovery" dvd set for the extra $10, but doing that also creates a shipping charge of $3.25, so I decided $13.25 for a SD bonus set was something I really didn't need. Great deal on Planet Earth though!

sorry if this question was already answered, but what is the difference between the discovery channel version and the BBC version? Just different narrators?
 
I got it, but I didn't know there was a difference other than the narrator between the Discovery and the BBC. I'm a little sour about it, but I think I'll live.

I saw this on FW, I ordered mine 24.99 shipped, no tax.

This is likely going to be the best price widely available on this title, as it's Discovery's own program, and not a reseller...

confirmation page printed and in my hand.. I can't wait. This and the bourne trilogy for cheap.

I think my Xbox is going to get a break soon for gaming at least.
