All Points Bulletin (APB): $38 shipped @ GoGamer.com

Did anyone play the beta? Was it fun? I downloaded the beta, but every time the servers were actually up I was working or away from home. I'm interested..

Ditto.

I'm playing early access right now for the last day it is live and I'm enjoying it even after about 25 hours of gameplay. I honestly think I'll continue to have great fun with it.

It's fun for the first 10/15 hours... and then it gets REALLY repetitive. I've played the game since early closed beta.

They need to add more content because missions are "Go to Point A, Go to Point B." Dependent on your threat level, you may have other Players assigned to attack you and you get a max amount of lives to complete your mission.

Where it gets really fun is if you are ever at Max Threat. Then, it's open season and you can attack anyone. However, to get there, you have to complete 6 to 10 missions without dying once.

There are overpowered weapons, but they might have been balanced out in live. Assault rifles with the range of sniper rifles, shotguns with too long range. You pretty much will see two primary weapons on ALL people since they are so overpowered.

Customization is fun though. If you want to customize anything (Music, Clothing, Car, etc.), it's free. You need to have Realtime World Points to sell anything you've customized on the Auction House.

Shooting isn't body location based. So, if you hit someone in the body versus the head, it still gives the same amount of damage.

Beta was plagued by major memory leaks... but hey, it was beta.

It's entertaining... but not really sticky enough for me to buy the game.

I played beta and KttC. Wanted to buy it, but just unsure of how long I'll play it, and quite a few complaints about imbalances, lagging, and hacking...

This game is a disaster waiting to happen. It's crawling with bugs and memory leaks, has less content than Hellgate: London "free" version, and has several forms of invasive in-game advertising, up to and including audio advertisements over the game's voice chat. If you want to turn the ads off (for a game you already bought at retail and are paying an MMO fee monthly to play), you'll have to pay an additional fee.

You can play the game without a monthly subscription, but you will only have access to the "social" zone, which allows you to talk to people on your server and customize your character. If you're actually interested in playing the game, you can buy "action" hours at $7 for 20 hours, or $10 for a month's access. In addition, many items in the game can only be bought for RTW points, which is the game's virtual currency... that you use real money to obtain.

Edit: The retail version of the game comes with 50 hours of "action".
This game has a subscription fee, doesn't it? If so, I'll pass even at the bargain bin price.
Yes, but I doubt for long. Global Agenda had to get rid of their subscription fee, also an instanced TPS like APB. It's $5 for 20 hours or $10 for unlimited time for 30 days. Hours don't expire and you get 50 when you purchase the game. 50 would probably last the lifetime of the game for me...

Memory leaks have been fixed for the most part from what I have seen during pre-release. My friends and I plan on playing for at least 2 months, and then seeing how RTW has been with content and fixes over that time and near future to decide on whether or not we'll keep going after that.

There are still a few things I'd like to see fixed, but it'll be a nice group game to play over the summer (one of my buddies is a teacher and has been looking for something to play during his time off.)

It's worth noting it has more of an EVE like system than anything else. Not sure if this is only through Steam, but you get 50 action district hours just by purchasing the game. Then you can either earn points and never have to pay for game time or follow up with one of these payment plans:

Once your game time is up, you have flexibility to top up your action game time from as little as $6.99 (£5.59, €6.29) for an additional 20 hours, while more frequent players can switch to a 30-day unlimited package for only $9.99 (£7.99, €8.99) with discounts available for 90 and 180 days.

That's if you are awesome at customizing

Though, that is the one place where this game will raise the bar. Customization in this game is crazy awesome. I can only hope that other developers will put this much effort into customization as RTW has done for APB.

I had fun during the beta, and I will probably pick the game up at some point -- my backlog is way too huge right now to be spending any real money. I, for one, am not worried about the subscription part -- as others have said, you get 50 hours of gametime out of the box. I'm a busy guy (with an enormous backlog, as I've noted), and if I get 50 hours of gameplay out of this game, I'd consider it well spent. I'm still struggling to finish Dragon Age, and that's around 50 hours too. So unless you're unemployed or a student or do nothing but play videogames, I wouldn't worry about that stuff. Your mileage may vary, of course.
This game will be in the bargain bin faster than you can say Crimecraft.
That's sort of my opinion of it too... I know its common practice, and its probably one of the reasons why I don't pay* for MMOs is it just seems really wrong to have to pay 50 bucks for a game and turn around and pay a monthly fee. If you getting a monthly fee from me I should be getting the game free.

* I say pay because I'm actually in the middle of two free trials (Warhammer Online and Champions Online) so I do play MMOs. That said I haven't really spent any time on those free trials either...
