Am I for one am Tired of all these college kids and dumb middle class people with money spending it on this go green crap. People need to open their eyes and realize that it's just a fad. Yeah, I'm not saying throw litter around everywhere, or drive retarded big SUV's and what not, but the idea that people are blindly swallowing this crap, and not asking questions is just sickening.

The worse part is the whole Organic Food/Fresh movement. These people really annoy me. Again, a bunch of Hipster spending x amount of money on food, then turn around and act like freaking snobs to people who can't even afford to pay their rent on time. And worse it's in the schools. My nephew comes home everyday to tell me that kids and teachers are talking down to him just because he likes to eat little Debbie snacks, meanwhile everyone else is busy munching on their "Fresh grapes/veggie carrot stick" crap. And yet they act as through they'll live longer, when I've read countless stories of people in their 100's who said they just love to eat on their Cheetos and drink coffee.

Look at what these people did to fast food. We can't even order a damn super size because Morgan "SuperLiberal" Spurlock decided to eat McDonalds for 30 days like a dumbass. Newsflash numbnuts, if you eat ANYTHING that high in fat of course you're going to get some negative side effects, you don't have to be a college graduate to know that.

These people have also ruined children cartoons. Where's the damn originality? These kids are just sitting their glued to this political correct "Let's all hold hands and sing" crap. Chowder? Dude What would Happen? WTF?? Where nurturing these kids to become softies, crybabies and down right zealous super assshats because of the FCC and other garbage. They'll never truly experience life with the crap their expose to.

I propose those against this propaganda, I suggest we stage a nation-wide march against this crap, these so called "Go Green" facilities, and tell them to cut their shit, to stop spreading this cynical they are instilling onto the people of the united states. I propose we march on July 4 against these fascist, people of all political spectrums against this so called "anti-corporate" for the people lie.

Who's with me?

Could you be more specific? What in particular do you dislike and what questions do you think need to be asked that aren't?

They're probably annoying regardless, right?

Well obviously grapes and/or carrot sticks are healthier than little debbie snacks, but what exactly have the teachers said?
And yet they act as through they'll live longer, when I've read countless stories of people in their 100's who said they just love to eat on their Cheetos and drink coffee.
And some people smoke forever and don't get lung cancer, that doesn't mean smoking and lung cancer aren't linked. Some people get shot in the head and survive generally undamaged too.

I think they stopped them temporarily at some restaurants, but I'm pretty sure you can get supersize-type larger food currently. Jesus, look at Hardees/Carl's Jr. and get back to me about how you can't order this or that because of Morgan Spurlock.

Can you be more specific (again)? Sesame Street has been around forever (not a cartoon sure, but still children's programming with the general message you seem to be against). What new things are destroying the children?

What the hell are you talking about? You don't want to go green, go for you, but I don't think it's that pervasive in your life. I've never understood why people don't recycle anyway, it's not really that hard.

*Could you be more specific? What in particular do you dislike and what questions do you think need to be asked that aren't?

I dislike the fact that people are just being sheep and no being obvious that it's looking like a money scheme not to improve the earth. Questions that need to be ask:

1) Will changing from a standard car to Hybrid really change the ozone layer?
2.) What are the benefits of mass public transit?
3.) Is global warming primarly caused by humans, yes or no?

*Well obviously grapes and/or carrot sticks are healthier than little debbie snacks, but what exactly have the teachers said?

That it's not a good choice in food to eat for lunch. Seriously? You're more concerned if one kid eats a little debbie snack compared to when your entire class bombs standarized test?

*I think they stopped them temporarily at some restaurants, but I'm pretty sure you can get supersize-type larger food currently. Jesus, look at Hardees/Carl's Jr. and get back to me about how you can't order this or that because of Morgan Spurlock.

I can't find it anywhere, and yes it is Morgan's fault because it's a biased documentry like most left-wing docs these days.

*Can you be more specific (again)? Sesame Street has been around forever (not a cartoon sure, but still children's programming with the general message you seem to be against). What new things are destroying the children?

Ok, fine, these cartoons are all about having fun and what not, and lack the messages that you and I got from our cartoons. Spongebob Suqarepants is a prime example of this. The fact that they allow this ultra-sterotypical femmine charcter on TV is a crying shame.
I've never understood why people don't recycle anyway, it's not really that hard.
Don't tell me what to do, you communist. If I want to throw my garbage in the river, leave my lights on all the time and drive my SUV a mile a day to drop my kids off at school, I will. I'm an American goddamnit.

I'm talking about we Hard working americans, grow some balls and march against these people and their propaganda. These people expect us to like them and yet.....the average to help keep a family a float is impossible. I suggest we stage this protest against these people and let them that were tired of this crap being forced down our throats.

Really? fucking really? If you believe these are propaganda, you're hopeless.

People should eat healthier - especially as kids when eating habits are formed. I'm so sick of all the fatties.

You also obviously haven't been watching any children cartoons lately because there is some brilliant stuff out there. I dare you to not like The Mighty B!, The Fairly Oddparents or Spongebob.

What does hard working americans have anything to do with it? My family is a bunch of hard working americans, and we still recycle because you know, it makes sense to reuse things. It also makes sense to get better gas mileage. I have no idea what to do about your cartoon problem though, suck it up maybe?

It's this political correct generation that's getting their way. These off-spring of loser Gen Xers.

Well the money part I get, I dislike when people buy this or that "green" thing without critically thinking about whether it is or not. That wouldn't make me against the underlying cause though, and is itself more a factor of those people not being anti-corporate enough to use your words. They trust that this thing is better for the environment because a corporation tells them it is without really checking it out.

Those questions seem mainly to do with global warming. Cars with lower emissions would pollute less. Mass transit definitely pollutes less than every individual using their own car, if that's the question. And so far the science is behind people causing/adding to global warming. The answers to those particular questions work in the favor of the "green" movement.
That it's not a good choice in food to eat for lunch. Seriously? You're more concerned if one kid eats a little debbie snack compared to when your entire class bombs standarized test?
Well it's not, comparatively. I don't think I have a problem with teachers saying that, but if they're annoying the kid constantly then it's going a bit overboard.
I can't find it anywhere, and yes it is Morgan's fault because it's a biased documentry like most left-wing docs these days.
They may have renamed them in some instances, but I know I've seen them. I think in many cases they just upped the large. Besides it just gave you a bigger fry and drink. Go to Hardees and get a burger that's bigger than your head.

Maybe you should get out more then. I generally don't have a problem having meaningful conversation with people who disagree with my viewpoint, but I think the bigger problem is that you don't really defend your points very well if this thread is any indication.

The dumb kids who can't think for themselves. Always following what a celeb is doing, never thinking for themselves.
I'm confused, who's fault is it? Twitter, Little Debbie, Facebook, Spongebob Squarepants, Morgan Spurlock or Toyota Prius?
I personally blame SpongeBob, that crazy fuck and his Krabby Pattys. Actually, if anything, isn't SpongeBob promoting fast food?

EXCUSE ME? For one I do go out and express my opinion against those different from mine. This thread is an indication of the bias against those with center-right politics. I'm tired of people getting away with this (dumb pot smoking liberals) and people coming down hard on us.
My first point.
So you agree they need to be more anti-corporate? That if people want to help the environment they need to stop simply purchasing products and take more drastic and meaningful steps?

The rest of your post would seem to contradict that.

No no, thta people are buying into this stuff just because the Corps say "100GREENetc." and as you sttaed not use critical thinking skills will it benefit the enviornment.
No no, thta people are buying into this stuff just because the Corps say "100GREENetc." and as you sttaed not use critical thinking skills will it benefit the enviornment.
Well yeah, but that's just the commodification of the movement. It doesn't take away from the legitimacy of the movement, and in some cases the products themselves can actually be beneficial to the environment.

Do you disagree with polluting less, using cars with lower emissions, etc.? If not, then the point wouldn't be to reject everything out of hand, but to analyze what does and doesn't help the environment. You seem to be dismissing it entirely.
Are you serious?
Of course I'm serious. Spongebob is brilliant.

I don't get what you have against people doing things that are environmentally friendly or healthy. Recycling actually benefits society and the world. I shouldn't even have to explain why eating healthy is a good idea. Maybe you don't see the positive effects on a daily basis because they are small but that doesn't mean this stuff doesn't help.

Also:

Old Spongebob is brilliant. The new stuff has gone downhill majorly, but the old stuff is pure gold covered in chocolate.
Adventure Time is tits awesome and if you aren't watching that, I pity your soul.
Misadventures of Flapjack WAS brilliant, but seems to be going downhill already, which is a terrible shame.

Adventure Time is the best cartoon on TV right now, no contest. It usurped Flapjack with about its third episode, in which George Takei was an evil heart who ran around beating people up. Yes, you just fucking read that.

My problem with environmentalism in general is the belief that you as an individual can somehow save the environment by changing your behavior and giving up your quality of life. Nevermind that you can be recycling cardboard boxes for your entire life, but if you decide to have three kids you've caused more environmental damage and fossil fuel use than you can ever make up for with a bunch of feel-good half-measures. I'm looking at Al Gore right here, do as I say, not as I do.

I've seen it in my own state, all this effort put out by dinky conservation groups to restock fish populations while we've got Perdue on the Eastern Shore flushing how many millions of metric tons of chicken shit right into the Chesapeake bay? And guess what, you wouldn't need that many chickens if there weren't so many mouths to feed.

So boom, the solution to me has always been population control. More space and resources for less people equals greater freedom for the individual.

From just your posts on the first page of this thread, seems like you have trouble with change. (Not "Change" for the record.) You claim that people are sheeple following this trend and sure there are always some. Most people don't pick the "choices" they believe they pick. Especially, the ones that don't want to change! You think people who want to go on doing what they have always done, what their parents have done from the "good ol' days" are not propagandized sheeple? If people change their lifestyle and perspective that is way less propagandized than someone who is looking for a hyper-masculinized, testosterone filled, supposedly American, anti-intellectual where you don't question the status quo existence. THAT is such a caricature that many Americans fall into. In fact, THAT makes me want to puke to see people fall into that.
What you really mean is more hoarding of resources for Americans so "Rest of the world! Stop reproducing!!! I want more of your resources so I can waste more!!! My God given American right!! THATS "greater freedom.""
