Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.

Does promotional credit apply to items that are sold by "blank" / fulfilled by Amazon? I think I remember seeing something in the FAQ that said shipped/sold by Amazon, but I'm not sure and that FAQ won't load on my phone for some reason.

I got my dog tag code Tuesday morning and the game shipped Tuesday afternoon, but still no sight of the $20 code. Anyone in the same boat?

[quote name='Brenex']I got the email saying it was shipped, dog tags, and $20 credit all at once on Monday afternoon.[/QUOTE]

maybe since I ordered it the night before. I gifted it to someone and still waiting for the dogtags to send to them. I got the $20 credit code but no extra bonus of $10 credit

[quote name='Midnighthawk']Still no $20 credit for Uncharted 3, Amazon? SMH[/QUOTE]

After the Infamous 2 and Resistance 3 debacle, I've given up hope of Amazon throwing credit at major PS3 exclusives, or major titles in general. Kmart will be getting my money for Uncharted 3, just like they did with Batman: Arkham City.

[quote name='jubeininja69']yeah,, amazon has rather been reactive than proactive when it comes to these credits.[/QUOTE]
yep, that's their game
they don't have to rely on lead times for circulars and ads
they can change the price of an item with a few changes in web code
b&m isn't nearly as agile in adjusting to someone elses prices chainwide

that said Amazon used to have many decent deals on games/blu ray movies that they would take the lead on .... they have been nothing but fuck throughout most of this year

[quote name='Lucian']^^^ no, only items sold by Amazon.[/QUOTE]

Actually it does, promotional credits can be used by items also fulfilled by amazon..basically anything eligible for Prime.

No, they can't. Honestly people!!! Amazon has been doing these for a while. There is no reason for the mass ignorance anymore. It even specifically states in the offer shipped from AND SOLD BY amazon. Gift cards will work on anything on the site, but promo credit is amazon.com LLC only!!!!

Oh come on guys this is ridiculous. Please just read the fucking three sentences of fine print on the promo credit and your be able to make a big boy decision.

What a concept!

I just received a 2nd dog tag code from Amazon... Redeemed code #1 just fine so i'll throw this one at Ebay fools. :D

[FONT=verdana,arial,sans-serif]The Amazon Video Games team thanks you for ordering "Battlefield 3." It has come to our attention that some of the Dog Tag Pack codes we sent out were invalid. Please see your new code along with the instructions below on how to receive your multiplayer Dog Tag Pack.

Here is your bonus code:

I'm shocked that some people still don't know that promo credit only works with items shipped and sold by amazon (warehouse deals don't count). Its stated in print with the promo credit email

Disappointed that Amazon is not offering any promo credit for Uncharted 3. The only reason I may still get it from there is because I have a $20 credit from BF3 and a couple of gift cards left. Plus there is no sales tax (saves me almost $4.00 and free release day shipping since I have Prime). After this though, all of my other purchases (MW3, Saints Row the Third, Halo Combat Evolved, NFS The Run) will be at BB and/or Gamestop where I have a number of GCs left.

Don't know why Amazon is not trying to beat out (or at least match) their competition.

Because K-mart isn't much competition to begin with. :p
Now if Walmart and/or Best Buy run a sales promo on UC3, then you'll probably see Amazon match the deal(s).

good point. I would still think they would offer maybe a $10 GC just to give them a little edge over BB/Walmart/TRU, especially since they have to know that Target is running there Buy2Get1 Free deal next week.

Oh well.

I just canceled my Amazon preorders for Uncharted 3 and Assassins Creed Revelations. I'm gonna hold out for black friday deals. No credit + no compelling pre-order bonus = no deal for me.

doesnt seem like amazon will bite on this pricematch. amazon had a good thing going. ill only shop with them on black friday otherwise its a waste of time with games.

Guys I just got an email from Amazon saying Uncharted 3 will have $20 credit.

Here's a screen shot.

Was it another "select people get this email" fiasco from Amazon? I say we all contact Amazon about this now. $20 Credit or die!

Amazon has become to comfortable with their game sales. No effort anymore... I haven't bought a single game from them all year, whereas the last couple of years, I probably bought 90% of my games from them. All my preorders this season went to Newegg.

Don't get a big head Amazon, you're not the only show in town.

Wow how long did it take you to come up with that one ?

Amazon really has been slacking lately. Still no release day delivery for LOTR War in the North. Considering canceling my order and picking it up at the Target b2g1.

It's really sad to think people have this much time on there hands.

[quote name='Parkerktm']It's really sad to think people have this much time on there hands.[/QUOTE]

that takes like 10 seconds to make do...

Did this ever happen to anyone?
You are now connected to Jayakumar from Amazon.com.
Me:Dance Central 2 $10 Credit

Jayakumar:Hello my name is Jayakumar. I'll be happy to help you.

Jayakumar from Amazon.com has left the conversation.

I never got the $10 credit from dance central 2 but i got the 400 msp
The chat lasted about 10 seconds

EDIT: I just chatted with another person and got it resolved. I just found that strange for the rep to just leave 10 seconds into the chat.

[quote name='Jodou']Now I'm afraid Amazon is going to give out U3 credits after it releases. Guess there's no credit for release this time.[/QUOTE]

If amazon does that don't they honor you with the credit if you preordered already ?

[quote name='strait edge follower']If amazon does that don't they honor you with the credit if you preordered already ?[/QUOTE]
Why would they do that? The preorder guarantee only works before a game comes out.

[quote name='strait edge follower']If amazon does that don't they honor you with the credit if you preordered already ?[/QUOTE]
Nope, they'll stiff you and then ban you for complaining lol.

I remember them doing this before I believe what they usually do is if they were going to give a credit they would only give it to preorder people..........but i doubt them doing it (example the $20 credit for preordering Zelda: OT 3DS)

So I was a little upset that Release Date delivery was not an option for LOTR: War in the North because i wanted to get some time in before MW3 next week, so i paid for 2-Day shipping and my delivery date was set for this Friday the 4th, but today I received notification my copy of the game has already shipped and is expected to be delivered tomorrow.

I am so happy. Now I can get a good amount of time into the game before MW3 comes out. Cause once Nov. 8th rolls around, all other games will be dead to me!

That's good news. Hopefully those of us with Prime should get it tomorrow as well.

Way too many games to play right now.

[quote name='acdcrocks1980']any idea if Amazon will give out credit with MW3?[/QUOTE]

Chances are looking slim but its still possible. Same thing happened with Back Ops when it released, amazon didn't add a credit until like a week before release.

[quote name='zenquix']only applicable towards a turtle beach headset[/QUOTE]

Wasn't there at one time a $10 Credit offer, or am I mistaken? It's the only thing keeping me from pre-ordering the game on Amazon (have my $20 credit to use from BF3).

Sorry. I thought it was $10 credit for anything, not just a Turtlebeach headset.

On another note, I just read the G4 review of War in the North and they only gave it a 2/5! They say it is quite buggy.

Walked in to my Target this morning and picked up Uncharted 3, Dark Souls, and Battlefield 3 Limited Edition with no problem. This b2g1 is an awesome deal with Uncharted 3.
