F.A.Q's
What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?
On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

Wisconsin

Note: No sales tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax.

Items sold by Warehouse Deals and shipped to destinations in Alaska are also subject to local sales tax.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Any tips on finding deals?
Sure! Here is a guide for a plugin for Chrome users to set alerts for items. Part 2 of the tutorial helps get AWD link to item not currently instock or that hasn't come out yet.

For Chrome users PageMonitor is a handy plugin to catch deals. (Guide listed below)
For Mozilla users, Check4Change is a handy alternate plugin to that of chrome's.

Also, http://theforklift.net/ for those looking for AWD deals in a pinch.

From my original post (concerning PageMonitor and AWD links):

I wonder if I'm doing it right. I'm adding the used page of the product (and selecting free shipping to filter it), however the program alerts me there is a change eventough there is none (the Sorry message we see when there are no products with free shipping - usually AmazonWarehouse).
The way I do it is selecting the price itself. For example I go here: http://www.amazon.co...&qid=1427814309 then I select the game/console that I want too look and click where it say used (dont click on the item link, click where it say used under the item you want). Then with page monitor I select monitor this page. After that I go to options (on the page monitor tab) advance and then click custom mode, pick. That will open a new tab withe the webpage of the item that I selected to monitor and there is where I select the price (the number) of the item. Then click done. Thats it, thats how it worked for me.
Time to revisit Feb 25th 2014 (and March 30th 2012) :

Time to revisit March 30th 2012 :). I posted a guide then and it very much still applies with some tweaking to what I know now, so on with it.

Before I begin, know this that you need to go to the AWD site if you are after something specific from AWD like the vita in this example. Also you can fast click the link to the edition you want (if it is a console, handheld, or games), and see each price for AWD only items if they are available. You would be lucky to see something pop up on AWD if bunch of people are hunting down the same hot ticket item at any given time. On that note, the alert DOEScatch AWD items before they appear on AWD and if sniped quickly (1-click), others will most likely just see a ghost listing on AWD by the time it appears on AWD page. Setting alert on AWD page also eliminates false positive alerts since only AWD listings will appear on AWD page vs every minute change that will happen on the main Amazon listing page. Now onto the guide:

This may help answer the question for few who are wondering how to use "Page Monitor" extension for Chrome.

Once the extension is installed, do this. Select the AWD page (not the main Amazon listing page to avoid false positive alerts) to be monitored by clicking on the Page Monitor icon and selecting "Monitor This Page" link (Use the link swapping trick mentioned earlier to get to the page if the game isn't out yet). Then go to Page Monitor options and do as following:
gallery_327158_7630_1370780661_26889.jpg

(You can choose to have custom notification sound, desktop notification, length of duration for notification, and the length of duration for refreshing as you please.)

Once done tweaking the settings, then do this:
gallery_327158_7630_1370780661_26890.jpg

Once you have done step 6, you have set the page to be monitored and you are set. A notification will go off that a change has been found but that is just to notify that you have set an alert. Mark it off as visited and from this point forward you are set to go.

Pro Tip: Set it to monitor the "used" tab via "selector" under the options by checking off "custom mode" instead of monitoring the whole page. If you set if from the warehouse side then it will only alert you if one pops up in the warehouse.

Those step diagrams have been here since the 1st time I made the guide back in March of 2012 and it is under my profile in my gallery so feel free to revisit it if the need arises.

I hope that helps my fellow CAGs. Happy hunting everyone :)

Mulder, on 04 May 2015 - 3:24 PM, said:

One thing for the procedure is that there are no New 3DSs available in the warehouse at this time, so I need to wait to test this approach.
Part 2 of the equation on how to get notification for items not on AWD and or ones say coming out in the future (like MGS V: CE)

Do this to get AWD listings for those items. Open a link to an AWD item (any item) but it needs to be an AWD link. Say something like this:

http://smile.amazon..../offer-listing/B00841ZJYO/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used&m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&qid=1430778305&sr=1-15

The part in bold is the Amazon's item listing and each item has its own unique listing identifier so to get the new XL item listing go to the item's page and from it's link get B00S1LRX3W

http://www.amazon.co...DS-XL-Black/dp/B00S1LRX3W/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1430778512&sr=1-1&keywords=new+3ds+xl

and replace the B00841ZJYO with B00S1LRX3W in the AWD link and voila you have AWD listing for an item not yet availabe.

http://smile.amazon..../offer-listing/B00S1LRX3W/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used&m=A2L77EE7U53NWQ&qid=1430778305&sr=1-15

Here are all the new xl links:

Nintendo - New 3DS XL Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Limited Edition - Gold/Black
New Nintendo 3DS XL - Black
Nintendo New 3DS XL Red

I hope that helps. Good luck and happy hunting! :)

Not a deal but seeing this on AWD brought back some memories:

Commodore 64 (A) $142.09

Now I just need to see an Amiga on AWD.
. Bruce lee for c64 was my favorite game. I don't now how we had them or where my dad found them but we had a ton of pirated c64 games. We gave the c64 to my grandma and she had it up until the early 2000s . Grampa wondered if it could hook up to the Internet.

Ordered Vanishing Point. In a Dreamcast mood, apparently. Even though I haven't fired it up in months.

You know, that's going to change tomorrow. Time to grab a battery for the VMU.

Living in the Unabomber's shack the last two months?
No, I just don't watch the "news"

Any TV I watch is streamed/downloaded/DVR'd. ZERO commercials, so if it's not in the show.. I don't know of it.

Besides, I don't pay attention to pop culture much either. (And no I don't do any social media)

Just curious. I've been on ios since the 3G but recently sold my 6 plus and picked up a Nexus 6. Seems awesome so far, just trying to get used to it and hoping I didn't make a mistake

I use iOS to punish my kids. Like, "oh you got an F? Give me your Note 4, you have to use this iPhone 5S this week." My kids failed once and almost died that week.

> Proceeds to sell the 5S and buy a Nexus 5

Kids can be pretty inventive.

I use Android for phone, iPad for tablet. My phone works awesome for wbat i need, planning toupgrade my iPad eventually to play some of the bigger games that have come out.

In my opinion is for a phone:
1: Android
2: ios
3: Windows

For tablets:
1: Windows
2: ios
3: Android

For a phone i have a Galaxy S6 Edge and tablets i have an Asus (Android), Unbranded (Windows 10) and an ipad and use my ipad air most of the time but a tablet with Windows 8-10 is like having a laptop in your hands so you can install a lot of crap that is not in the App Stores like video and music players that i use on my pc for example. But that is my opinion.

Most of the people I know that think IOS is better than Android have one thing in common. They had a shitty Android phone before and then spent $600-700 on an iPhone and talk about how amazing it is. I mean obviously the $700 phone is better than the piece of shit you got because it was "free" with the 2 year contract. People who actually invest the money to get a flagship android never go back unless it's some dumbass reason like my friend, whose job requires him to have IOS because one of the apps he has to use everyday is only IOS for some reason.

Please be aware that the Taken King expansion (and the other 2 expansions included) are just digital codes included with the vanilla Destiny disc. I picked up a Factory Sealed Destiny TTK posted here and the code was unused. I would be cautious buying a non-Factory sealed version from AWD.

1: Android
2: ios

I think you have to change your expectations for a Windows tablet - you need to have the need or desire to have a portable desktop or ultra portable laptop instead of the tablet experience that iOS or Android gives.

My phone is a 2nd gen Moto X and it's just about perfect. I have a first gen iPad Mini, and the size is great but Apple's thoughts on memory suck. My Cyanogen Touchpad gives a better tablet experience, but iOS is where everyone develops for first.

I had a Winbook TW802 that was surprisingly very good experience, albeit a bit on the heavy side. It broke trying to erase my information after a W10 upgrade, I returned it and am considering picking up another. Once (if) Microsoft convinces people to develop apps alongside desktop programs, the Windows 'mobile' experience could be really great. W10 changed my mind completely.

Back to your regularly scheduled lack of AWD deals discussion.

I have a Windows Phone. It has like 2 apps in the app store, which is a shame since it doesn't do that terrible thing every android phone I've ever had does where it'll suddenly become incredibly slow/freeze a lot and have horrible battery life for no reason after a few months of owning it.

I'd point back to what the other poster said and wonder what phones you've had. While Android isn't the best at optimization, the flagship phones with enough RAM do well for a lot longer.

Do you guys use ios or android
I've got a Lumia 920 with the Windows 10 Mobile beta running on it. The Android-style pop-out menus are awful, and the music player's about 8 steps back from its predecessor, but the OS itself is pretty nice. I use maybe 3 apps on my phone that aren't MS-related, and I don't do phone gaming, so I honestly can't say being away from the apps on Android has hurt me much. I'd love to get a Trillian app, but iM+ is enough to get by.

Possible, but as someone who's never had an iOS device (though I've experienced them), I think it's more than that. I had an Android device, (HTC Droid Incredible), and it generally wasn't a good time. It got hot, the music player (the biggest app for me on a phone) was mediocre and prone to crashing, and the thing was generally not a great experience. I got it (considered a flagship in its 2010 release window) maybe 6 months after launch, so it wasn't an old experience at the time. No, my brother-in-law has a Galaxy S4, and after briefly using it to check something, I'll say that being high-end doesn't fix its problems. People make jokes calling it dumb things like "lagdroid," which I scoff at. Using that S4, I was honestly surprised to see how prone something as simple as scrolling in the settings was to stuttering. YMMV with other/newer devices and Android UIs, but that's just my takeaway.

Is this a legitimate whoknows post? It kind of seems like it, and the possibility that it is scares me.

Awhile ago when was looking at reviews for the S5 people were complaining about that same thing of it becoming slow and battery life becoming terrible so I ended up not bothering going back to android. I don't know if iOS does the same thing, but it seems to be a thing with Android in general.

It happens more than you think, but I usually don't let it be so obvoius.

See, I completely read his post as sarcasm this time--less apps to cache means a faster response time. Windows phones have the same problem, since they're based on the Windows kernel which requires a restart every so often lest it not function properly. It's imperative that all phones be cleaned routinely, too, to remove the junk files that bog the system down. Android is great in that regard, since you get to browse the file system yourself and modify/install anything you want. Windows phone doesn't have an app for that.

Windows 10 Mobile does have a File Explorer, though it doesn't get to system files, I don't think. They also added an app (and a built-in function) to clean up lingering files some time ago to WP8. I can only speak for me, but I haven't had crashing issues on my 920 in over 2.5 years (basically, the initial release in 11/2012 had some reboot problems). I do reset my phone a lot, but that's just become a habit related to using a beta OS and a phone whose thermals have gotten carried away on LTE after almost 3 years, but that was no better with my Incredible.

You can say what you want about apps, I won't argue the preferences of others. Me, I wouldn't have my phone loaded up with a bunch of apps on Android either, so the app count would be about the same on a self-installed level, if I WERE on Android. That leaves it an OS question, and as someone who's big on listening to music, Windows offers the better experience, and the OS is generally more satisfying for me to use. The only advantage Android gives to me is app availability, and that's not high on my list for a smartphone, believe it or not.

I haven't had that issue. With my past Android phones even factory resetting fixed nothing. The battery got so bad it would last a few hours and it was slow and laggy. I've wanted to go back to Android for awhile now due to the better app store, but I'm not interested in dealing with that stuff again.

Which WP do you have? I'm still on this launch 920, and if you want to talk battery life...man, throw on the LTE and GPS, and you can fry eggs for about the 90 minutes the battery will last, haha.

I have a 920 as well. I always have location off just because, but data is always on. Battery lasts all day.

Considered getting a Windows Phone but the lack of apps that I wanted hurts. Great price on most of the phones.

I've got a OPO (One Plus One) I almost got a zenphone 2 instead
Kindle Fire HDX (might consider an iPad in the future)

Guy I work with has a Nexus 6 and loves it. For me since buying the OPO I'm going to buy all my phones off contract

We have a iPhone 5s for work for on call and it works fine

Now back to deal talk...do iPads ever show up on AWD? Anyone seen a good deal on the Neo-Geo X recently?

I had a Galaxy Note 2 for two years and while I did like it, by the time the two years were, I really wanted to go back to iOS. Damn thing was pretty buggy for me, although I did like the extended freedom that the platform gives you. With iOS, however, I've felt that's never been an issue. Just close a few apps and you're good to go. Just my experience. I still have an Android tablet (Transformer TF-300) which I really like. I'd choose an Android tablet over iPad, but would prefer a Windows tablet with a full version of the OS over anything.

I have owned several flagship andriod phones over the years and they have all suffered from lag requiring me to reboot several times a week or my favorite issue of movie apps not working for 3 months because of licensing issues this goes for the tablets I've owned as well. I have been using an iPad for the last 2yrs and will never go back to andriod, I took a chance earlier this year and jumped from my windows phone to an iPhone and have never needed to reboot outside of the last major iOS update. I'm not saying iOS is perfect but Andriod is a horrible platform that becomes more and more buggy over time and with each update, most people I know that have switched to iOS or windows can't believe how fast and responsive a phone can actually be.

I mean if you're technologically ignorant, can't clear you system cache, use stock launchers, hate customization, like Apple's stranglehold on you, think drinking coffee from local coffee shops makes you classy and/or need things spoon fed to you then IOS is the way to go.

Ehh, I don't feel that way. To me, I don't want to have to put as much effort into my phone as my PC. I don't want to have to deal with rooting the phone to get carrier bloatware off. I don't want to have to find a third-party UI because the experience I'm paying for is so cumbersome. If the thing's fundamentally flawed, why bother putting in effort to get it to act like what you want when you can just buy that?

All of the work to make Android enjoyable isn't worth it just so I can use Trillian. It's certainly not worth doing it 5 times so my mom, grandma, other grandma, step-grandpa, and others aren't on iOS. I'll let them sit in the kiddie pool where I don't have to babysit their phones 24/7, while enjoying a reasonably sound W10M experience.

Plus, I love that Lumias have good cameras and a camera button. It makes the photo-taking process much easier and better, speaking from the perspective of someone who doesn't usually want to take the time getting the camera open and taking multiple pictures to compensate for my not-so-steady hands.

If you just want to throw money at things that are already easy to use/user friendly that's cool. I like to customize to fit my needs and my speed. I'll put effort into something to get what I want out of it. Some people like to throw money at things that limit you but make you feel special with little/no effort. That's okay too... I guess.
